So, in a future adventure I want my PC's to fight Tiamat, and I like the idea of having to fashion weapons/items from the bodies of her consorts.  Now my plan is to make an Elder/Ancient dragons of the original chromatics and give them all a class. (4ed by the by).  Now, I am having trouble deciding what classes for what dragons.  Some are...stereotypical some aren't.

White Dragon Barbarian

Green Dragon Wizard (probably illusion but maybe conjuration)

Blue Dragon Paladin

Black Dragon Don't know maybe ranger?

Red Dragon Don't know, possibly Arcane class, or Martial though the thought of Barbarian has crossed my mind.

Other ideas included the White as a shaman, and the Green as a summoner druid.  So what do you guys think, what are good class match ups for the prime five chromatic dragons?

I'm just throwing this out here but you should uncoincidently align the dragons classes with the classes of your party. The coincidence won't go unnoticed and might make for a fun plot point.

Paladin is kind of the opposite of what you should be going for for an artillery monster like the blue dragon.  I'd suggest perhaps ranger, sorcerer or some other class with ranged capabilities.

Also, black dragon just screams rogue to me.

For the red, maybe fighter or sorcerer (depending on where you go with the blue).  Sorcerer is kind of a classic archetype for dragons (who could cast spells as sorcerers in 3.5), and the red is also the most classic of the chromatics.
