| #1kouryuu_the_leviathanOct 26, 2009 7:03:19 | I'm currently playing a human whirling barbarian, and I'm rather underwhelmed at the options I have for a third at-will. I was hoping that the Barbarian Essentials article just out might have a few more at-wills to look at, but since it didn't I figured I'd try my hand at creating some at-wills geared for Whirling barbs. Here are two that I've come up with. Whirling Flurry Increase to 2[W] (main weapon) and 2[W] (off hand weapon) at 21st level This one I feel is pretty close to how twin-strike might look if it were written today post assassin multi-attack powers. I envision the barbarian just wailing away at his foe with his main weapon, and at the most opportune time blind sides his enemy with his second weapon. The reason I went with two attacks with the main hand instead of one for each weapon is to keep it in line with all of the other whirling powers that only call for main hand attack rolls. The one problem I see with this power is that it might be just a bit too much damage potential, even for a barbarian at-will. Whirling Vice Increase to 2[W] (main weapon) and 2[W] (off hand weapon) at 21st level If you look at Whirling Rend as what would happen if you took the fighter's Cleave attack and "strikerized" it, then I this is kind of the striker version Reaping Strike. Of the two, I see this one as the more balanced one, and I also somwhat like the imagery of this power a little better as well. I welcome any and all comments and criticism about these two powers. Also, feel free to post your own powers as well, I'm pretty sure there are more interesting two weapon powers to be for the barbarian than what I've made. |
