I was in a local game store, and I came across a "Critical Hits" deck, which basically has a list of different effects for different types of damage (bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, and magic) on each card, and you draw a card if you confirm a critcal hit and apply the appropriate effect as extra damage.

I've been interested in creating a homebrew deck like this.  I know that many DMs make their own, and I was wondering if anyone had any examples that could inspire me.  Also, I've wanted to create a deck for critical misses, so any example of those decks would be appreciated as well.

(If you're responding to this, please try to not insult the idea of critical misses.  I am not interested in how realistic you think the idea is.  The only reason I will use them is for entertainment value.  I appreciate your concern, but in all honesty I've heard all the criticisms before and so you will be wasting your own time even trying to convince me not to use critical misses)

Mostly your going to be looking at low duration status effects; dazed, stunned, blinded, staggered, movement speed reduction, bleed effects, etc. You will just need decide what damage type is appropriate for which type of status effect, some damage types may be capable of producing more than one status effect. On that note, some weapons may be capable of producing more than one status effect.

Critical misses can be very fun, I have used them in the past. Any thing from losing an action to ending up prone. My personal favorite is stumbling, in which the creature 'stumbles' into a random square and loses it's remaining actions for it's turn. If the random square is occupied it can turn nasty real fast.
