| #1ifritusJul 23, 2009 14:15:23 | Hey folks, im making my own class, and doing powers. This is a level 5 Daily power. (no questions please about the class. youll just have to wait) its basicall has my dude and a target in front. He leaps onto em, and they now occupy the square behind em, with you on top, pinning them down (effectively a grab) except my dude is dexterity/Wisdom Dependant and has no need for strength. and forced movement, so heres what ive got so far. Pinning Pounce ****** Exploit 3 You leap onto your prey, causing them to stumble back and fall prone. You land on them, keeping them pinned into place whilst you slash and rake At their weak spots. Encounter [] primal Standard Action Melee touch Attack: Dexterity vs. Fortitude Effect: the target now occupies the square behind them, and are immobilized because you are grabbing them. Aftereffect: Every one of yours and the target's turns that the grab is sustained or has failed to escape, the target takes 1D10 damage. there it is. please tell me if ive got the termiology and layout right! |

For clarity's sake, I'd write it like this: Standard Action: Melee touch Attack: Dexterity vs. Fortitude Hit: 1d10+Dexterity modifier damage. You knock the target prone and slide him into your square. The target is considered grabbed. Sustain: Minor. When you sustain this power, the target takes the damage again. The power automatically ends if the target escaped the grab. This is probably what you ment. If you want it really simple, you could also do it like this, it'll make it more in line with other powers, and rely less on the grab mechanic. Standard Action: Melee touch Attack: Dexterity vs. Fortitude Hit: You knock the target prone and slide him into your square. The target is Restrained and takes ongoing 10 damage. You are immobilized. (save ends all) I'm not sure if it's any good balance-wise; you'll have to compare it with some other powers for that. |

Wow what an error, i said a llevel 5 daily and have it an exploit 3! I love the look of restrained! but hadnt even thought about the penalties taken on by grabbing a foe and sustaining it. how bout this then power revamped! Pinning Pounce ***** Exploit 5 Flavour text................................. Standard Action: Melee touch Attack: Dexterity vs. Fortitude Hit: You knock the target prone and slide him into your square. The target is Restrained and takes 1D10 damage. You are immobilised for as long as you sustain this power. Each time the target fails to escape it takes 1D10 damage. This power ends automatically if the target escapes. Sustain Minor: the target takes 1D10 damage. (see for the sustain minor, do i have to say im immoblilsed target is restrained etc or is that covered when you sya sustain?) cheers for help |
