I'm trying to think up a OA style setting. It's going to be mostly Japanese but probably have elements from other settings. Can any Japanese speakers tell me what "Heavenly Land" translates to in Japanese?

I also have an idea for a more Japanese style Warforged who might actually be Samurai whose souls are bonded to their armor and they forget who they were in life but I cannot think up a decent name for them and I wanted a sort of whole ritual and thing to make one and fluff about them to fit the setting. Mechanically they are no different at all from Warforged, just different thematically.

天国
Tengoku

Ten = Heaven
Koku/Goku = Country, the Go version is used

Trying to make up a decent name for warforged but I can't think of anything that works well.

Ah. I was using Oozura Riku for "Heavely Land". I'm not sure what it really means, the translator I looked up had a lot of different words that meant the same thing so I picked the words that sounded best to me. :P

Oozura Riku doesn't sound right. I can't match it to anything when I look it up, and it does not look right anyway. You're free to use it anyway, of course.

Ahh wait... Riku refers to land generally, while Goku/Koku refers to country.

Still, I can't figure out Oozura at all. Oozura Riku also sounds fairly clumsy imo. I'd rather use Tengoku. (it also is an established name as it refers to heaven or paradise)

Hmm when I looked up Oozura it means monkey or Ape. Lots of DBZ references. Ape Land? No, this isn't a planet of the Apes with Fedual Japan theme. :-p I know the original Japanese to english listed Oozura for Heaven or Paradise.

Your mention of Warforged and Asia just made me think of this image. I dunno if it could help with inspiration, but you may find it neat:

It is but they are also creepy.

So anyone come up with a decent Japanese/Asian sounding name for warforged? Soulforged? Bushidobound? I already gave what their fluff is, just need a decent name for them.

I found in an online English-Japanese Dictionary that 'armour' translates to 'yoroi' in Japanese (perhaps a Japanese speaker can confirm this).

Combining the word 'yoroi' with 'kami' (spirit) you may come up with something like yoroikami for warforged.

戦神

Possible readings:
Ikusagami
Sengami

Ikusa/Sen = War / battle / fight
Gami = God / soul

Gami is actually another way of pronouncing kami. I chose the "g" version here because I suspect it is more accurately used that way when used as the second kanji in a compound.

Those are some good ideas. I was also looking into alternate names for Tieflings.
