I need 7 or 8 combat encounters of levels 4 and 5. The campaign/adventure has a very desert/egyptian feel, with heavy Ravenloft/undead overtones. Does anyone have (or can come up with) interesting monster groups to fit the bill? -GW |

I would suggest Death Master and Savage Berserker. If you are to use the mummy I would suggest lowering the mummy rot DC by about 1 or 2. You could have a few encounters that are lvls 4 to 5 using skeletons. The Blazing Skeleton and Boneshard Skeleton are lvl 5 already. Make the Decrepit and normal Skeletons lvl 4 or 5 and you are good to go. I am sure you could fit the Deathrattle Viper into the adventure somewhere. Could also have Deathjump Spiders. Maybe the PCs could happen upon a room where the snakes and spiders are about to square off. A lot of monsters could be thrown into this fight because the snakes and spiders would naturally fight. The party should only get exp for the monsters they kill. If they notice that the spiders and snakes hate each other and back off to let them duke it out then the PCs shouldn't get exp for not killing the monsters. Or maybe only 1/5 or 1/10 the exp. They weren't necessarily in harms way but it was they were being smart. Ghouls, wights, and zombies are good to use for the undead touch. Make sure to describe them as looking dry and leathery. Blue dragons also live in the desert so you could use one in the adventure. were these some of the monsters that you were thinking of using? What did you exactly have in mind for the adventure? Is there any story/plot or is it just a dungeon crawl? If I have a bit more info I could then flesh out some encounters if need be. |
