The problem is We are playing already(I ran them through the Frozen Tower adventure from Dungeon) and I need something to go with. I was thinking of taking the Zelbross bandits hook in the campaign guide and running that into the Barrow of the Forgotten King all the way throught the Fortress of the Yuan-Ti. I don't have these adventures and was wondering if anyone could let me know how well that would play out and if it would be overly hard to adapt them. Thanks in advance for any help. |

There is are several creatures with damage reduction and resistances that if the party isn't partially prepared for will have a hard time overcomming. There are some actions points awarded but are only used for the final battle, but even these are not enough in my opinion. After running the battle after I altered it I asked my PC's to rerun it with the original stats, they only lasted 2 rounds, and they were all either incapacated or dead. (I don't have the encounter in front of me so this is just what I can remember it may be off a little bit.) The Risen King, who is the last encounter, one of his first abilities is that everyone must who is in line of sight must make a will save or be stunned for 1d4 rounds. In the first round Half the PC's were out of the picture. And then he has enough quickened abilities to pick the rest of them to nothing. I made the mistake of not evaluating the adventure in advance. If you do use Fortress of the Yuan-ti take a close look at everything, I turned a long weekend of gaming into a very anti-climatic session, which I even felt sorry about. Make sure you have looked at the adventure and that the PC's are ready before you send them in. |
