Paladin's in 4e have a hard time getting good ability scores in the abilities they want, because they want pretty much all of them to be good except Intelligence. Strength Paladins are particularly hard-hit by this, since several times they are forced to take powers based on Charisma unless they multiclass. To try to alleviate this, I propose this feat:

Feat: Actions Speak Louder than Words
Gain access to Channel Divinity: Actions Speak Louder than Words

Power: Channel Divinity: Actions Speak Louder than Words
Effect: You can substitute your Strength modifier for your Charisma modifier whenever the latter is called for on the next power you use.
Special: You can use this power twice per encounter, but once you use it once, you cannot use any other Channel Divinity powers.

This isn't bad. By default you shouldn't need the clause regarding other CDs (since you can only use one of them per encounter anyway). This could definitely help your heavier tank Paladins actually do something with all of their powers.

It's a little off that 4e practically describes Paladins as CHA-based creatures when their stats make more sense in STR, CON, and WIS. I find this to be fair; spending a feat for a CD Encounter power works for me...

...but I'm new to the whole DM scene, so take my opinion lightly.

I haven't personally found Paladins to struggle with MAD anymore than members of other classes. 4E is designed around having 3 high attributes.

That said, a once per encounter ability to switch your Str and Cha mod for power use doesn't sound overpowered.

I think Paladin's MAD is pretty bad, but mostly if you want a Strength Paladin; a Charisma Paladin can safely dump Strength. If you want a Strength Paladin, you make Strength your highest stat. But several times in your Paladin's career, there aren't any good powers of your level that key off of Strength, so you still want good Charisma. But then many powers, Str and Cha-based, have good secondary effects that key off of Wisdom, plus Lay on Hands is limited by your Wisdom mod, so you gotta have good Wisdom. Oh, but you're a Defender, plus your healing power has you spending your own healing surges to heal others, so you must have good Constitution. And finally (though this is optional), Paladins get great At-Wills, so Heavy Blade Opportunity is a great feat to get, but that needs good Dexterity. Which means you want every stat but Intelligence to be good. Ugh.

Compare that to Rogues, who need two high stats, period, regardless of build. At the very least, you can't say Rogues' MAD is as bad as Paladins'.

That said, the CD I suggested is two times per encounter. :P
