| #1elhan_the_sorcererAug 23, 2008 5:56:35 | I have been working on a setting for the past few years, on and off, building it up, tearing it down and starting from scratch. At any rate, I was planning on using 4th edition D&D for it, but I'm not satisfied with it (I like magic, and I find its system underwhelming, and I am also not pleased with WOTC's idea of marketting a product, i.e. leaving the Sorcerer/Druid etc out of the PHB), and so I am going to opt for AE as the framework for it, alongside the Spell Treasury, Transcendence and the Book of Experimental Might. One thing I do need some help on is the rules, and particularly merging certain rules, e.g. I want to incorporate some elements from 4e, as I'm not too familiar with tabletop (most of what I know of D&D comes from the books themselves and CRPGs), so I might be a bit off on the balance aspect. Is anyone willing to communicate on this either by PM or an IM? If so, PM me. If you're not familiar with AE, no need to reply to this. |

| #3steve_russellAug 24, 2008 19:03:21 | You might have better luck HERE The folks on monte's boards are far more familiar with AE rules since that is all we play with HEREsince I am only playing with AE and BoXM I and II, but not 4e I am alas not much help. I know there is an idea to adapt AE to 4th going on behind the scenes over there. |

Its a fanboy board what can you expect ![]() Yet there are always a few rebels like mr Staun that will help you out (he runs The Akashic Record Hope that helps. |
