Homebrew Deity Problems

So, I have a few small issues that I'm trying to work out for my game world that I created. The first and foremost is I'm trying to decide on whether one of my deities should be classified as Lawful Good or Unaligned. The God is a zealous knight type who is obsessed with upholding law and order, even at the cost of condemning the occasional innocent. When I changed my world for 4th edition, I culled a lot of gods that I built up over time that really weren't important. When I did so, I had the gods have a huge war, wherein this God of Law and Order who used to be a LG Uber-paladin stereotype assasinated two LN gods, one a god of judgement, claiming they failed their purpose, and he usurped their power. Would his alignment still be Lawful Good in 4th edition? As it stands the only other LG god I have (I have 10 proper gods + a number of less important exarchs for more specific things) is a God of creation and life who created the dwarves (kinda like moradin mixed with Pelor).

Second off, and much less important, my world has a number of exarchs, mostly servants created by the gods, lesser primordials and of course archdevils and demon princes (yes I am aware that some of these don't count as exarchs technically, but I use the term for a general "powerful immortal that isn't quite as powerful as a god"). I want to know, how common should the knowledge of this other beings be. Should it be something everyone should know about, or only those with training in religion? perhaps a religion check?

Thanks in advance for help with these issues

The LG paladin type crossed the line by assassinating another god. The god should no longer be good. As far as how well known are the exarchs, I would say anyone who worships a specific deity would know the exarchs associated with that god, and if that god had an enemy, would also probably know the exarchs associated with that opposing deity. Anyone would also know 2-5 exarchs because as children the myths and legends about some of the exarchs fascinated them.

Coverting alignments:

LG = LG and CE = CE. Chaotic Good = Good. Lawful Evil = Evil. Everything else = Unaligned. With NG or NE you could make a judgment about how they lean towards law or chaos and assign the 4e alignment accordingly.

So an implacable good of law, order & justice who would have been LN in 3e, would now be Unaligned.

Exarchs would be like saints or lesser deities in a more familiar religion. Everyone knows a few of the most famous ones or a few that are revered locally or culturally, but is unaware of most unless they've studied religion.
