For the sake of argument assume all PC's in the game have the Destiny Warrior background, which makes them Destiny Warriors (so it's a relevant rules keyword). Is this PP too powerful? Too weak? Too boring? Too incoherent? Destiny Master Destined Courage (11th level): When you spend an action point, you or a Destiny Warrior adjacent to you gains temporary hit points equal to your healing surge value. Controller: Once per turn when you hit a creature adjacent to another Destiny Warrior, you may slide the target 1 square. Bonds of the Destiny Master (16th level): When you attack a creature adjacent to another Destiny Warrior, you gain a +4 bonus to damage rolls. Might of Destiny Destiny Master Attack 11 |

Signature Maneuver: has porential for being overpowered, and at the same time kind of boring. I think the biigest problem power wise is that you have potential to have 2 level 29 dailys. Putting level limit on this should fix it. As far as the boring part, I think getting more of the same (no matter how good) is kind of meh. Of course you may not see this as a problem. Force of Destiny: seems to me like by level 12 it should do more, or affect you and all your allies in range. Maybe extend its duration. Rest of the abilities seem balance and quite versatile. |

I tried coming up with something else for the controller, but it was either turning out too strong or too weak, couldn't find a middle ground. Since I don't have a controller in the party, I decided not to worry too much about it, but in the future if someone dies and decides to switch to controller, it can be pertinent, so if you have any ideas, I'm open to them. For the signature maneuver, it may be repetitive, but if you knew my players... One less power they have to learn is just better that way. I'll put a level cap though, that's a good idea, probably level 19. Force of Destiny is I think already quite good as an encounter power. The big thing is, as a free action, you can give the bonus right when someone is about to jump, or right when someone needs to make an escape check to escape a grab. Also it could trivialize some skill challenges, and skill checks during combat if "you and all allies" got the bonus. I'd like to leave that sort of big bonus specifically to leaders and/or daily powers. I could consider extending its duration, though I'm not sure how. Until end of encounter would be too long I think. |

| #5Mengu74Apr 07, 2011 1:04:04 | For the controller, I like slide because it's "fire and forget." I don't have to track it. When the target grants combat advantage I would have to track that, and controllers can hit a lot of creatures, that can be a lot of tracking. Considering the ability is "always on," it can happen every round. That's why I was trying to keep it simple. Only "fire and forget" tools I can think of are slide, knock prone, and extra damage. Knocking prone at-will every round is not something I want to hand out when a controller can also pick a bunch of dazing powers too. Extra damage isn't very controllery, though sometimes it is. When I look at popular controller PP's, they tend to be the ones that dip into striker role like Blood Mage and various Druid PP's, or the ones that dip into another role like a number of leaderish Invoker PP's. Guess I'll keep pondering. If I can't come up with anything easier to track, I might go with the slide and combat advantage. Thanks again. |
| #6lady_ishtarApr 07, 2011 16:03:05 | Yeah, I got nothing for "fire and forget" ability. Everything fitting for a controller that i can think of requires bookkeeping. If something comes to me ill post it here. Good luck. |
