| #2Crimson_ConcertoMar 26, 2009 20:50:50 | HAHAHAHAHA! CLEVER! ![]() Seriously, they need to stop moving these... Ability Scores: +2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma Racial defense bonuses like that are usually reserved for races with both their ability score bonuses going towards ability scores that would improve the same defense. For example, the Eladrin has +2 DEX +2 INT so it gets a +1 boost to Will, because DEX and INT would both boost its Reflex. *ahem* "you race" already gets +2 INT +2 CHA, translating to a +1 Reflex +1 Will, so an additional defense bonus isn't really called for here from a balance perspective. Besides, if you keep that, I think "the race" is a bit overpowered. I have to say though that neither the save bonus versus fear nor the Trace seem particularly in theme for what you seem to want to do with "your race." ;) |

All I did was cut and paste from the Eladrin Will. But, I modified that now. I gave them Trance as an attempt to make up for their lack of dreaming while asleep. I feel it's much like the Kalashtar in 3.5 didn't get Trance simply because they were already nearly psionic elves, and because trancing would've made them...perhaps unbalance? I really don't know, I thought it was silly back then. Back to the will defense notion...is it perhaps then better to give them a Wis bonus instead of Cha, since both of their skill bonuses are to Cha skills? |

Moreover, Dual Spirit sounds like the Half-Elf trait that threats them as both Human and Elf when it comes to fill requirement. Kalashtar could also be considered Human for the same purpose. Rekko |

| #6rekkoMar 28, 2009 7:37:39 | I think it's a good idea to drop resistance to psychic, since psychic might be a key word for many psionic abilities when it comes out. Maybe the Mindlink could allow the Kalashtar or its ally to shift 1 square as a move action once in the encounter. This tactical movement could be used to place yourself in combat advantage situation or to avoid opportunity attacks. It would be a result of you telling your ally to watch his back or asking him to position himself as to gain battlefield advantages. I'd also think that at 11th level Mindlink could be used on 2 allies, at 21st with 3 allies. Will make racial feats in this thread? |
| #7lucifernietzscheMar 28, 2009 16:01:51 | I think it's a good idea to drop resistance to psychic, since psychic might be a key word for many psionic abilities when it comes out. Resistance is to damage types keywords, not power keywords. If a power doesn't deal damage, they wouldn't get their resistance. It's no different from the Tiefling's resistance to fire. But, because of the other two, it is a bit much maybe, so I'll go ahead and ditch it. I really haven't decided what I'm going to do with mindlink. I'd prefer to avoid making it more than a strictly communication ability. But...we'll see I guess. I hadn't planned on going into feats or anything else. I'm not that dedicated...to anything... |
| #8lucifernietzscheMar 29, 2009 16:55:08 | I finally got around to altering it a bit...the changes will be pretty obvious. |
