| #1janusunajSep 27, 2008 6:04:56 | I've discovered how to actually use the SRD. lolAnyway... Now that I have two 3.5 Edition D&D books to play, I still have 3.0, so I was thinking about homebrewing. There is an RPG going on at GITP in the Order of the Stick forums called Gods of a New Star, and I want to kind of do things in my homebrew that have to do with that gaming world. For this reason I am making a list of nations, gods, etcetera, to flesh things out and eventually have a campaign world of my own. ![]() So without further ado, here is my role playing deity's nation, Tekia. Nation: Tekia Population: 8,800,000 Land: 35,000 square miles Government: Magocratic Republic Religions: Currently, Tekia has no real state religion, but it has the philosophical traditions laid down by Saradinus, the Lord of Magic. Some worship Cyrus, the god of craft. Major Alignments: 4th Edition Good, Lawful Good, Unaligned, Evil 3rd/3.5 Edition Neutral good, lawful good, chaotic good, lawful neutral, chaotic neutral, lawful evil Power Centers: Council of Ministers(government), The Academy(the world's first Academic center, and home of wizards), the Dragon Sanctuaries(home of dragons, optimal hatching areas) Miscellaneous: A way to describe Tekia would be "good aligned Thay". Tekia enjoys technology on the level of early 1800's... Pirates of the Carribean style weapons, etcetera. The Tekian military has currently annexed small territories on the main land in a war with insectile creatures. (I'll explain later.) Now, Tekia has developed a small air force of one hundred airships. Mage towers dot the landscape of the island of Teke, shooting down enemy fliers, and being alternate places of education other than the Academy. Local wildlife is protective of all islanders, and there are natural formations shaped by Saradinus, and inhabited by monsters also benevolently obedient to Saradinus. Battle mages, and wyvern riders combine arcane strength with warrior's physique and fighting skill. The Life Tree, planted by Saradinus, caused human beings who live a few miles from it to live to be decades older than normal human beings. Those who regularily eat from the Tree may live to be as old as 300 years old. Saradinus Alignment: Good/Neutral Good Domains: Good, Magic, Spells, Knowledge, Scaly Kin, Healing Portfolio: Magic, Academies, The Powers of Good, Dragons, Life Favored Weapon: Ray Followers: magicians, the educated, dragons, doctors, healers, alchemists, couples expecting babies, gardeners, druids Description: Saradinus is the patron of Education across the world of Lall. He propagates and champions Good, and spreads respect and the holding of life as sacred. When the Fire Bird said that he would destroy everything in the world, Saradinus prepared a 24 hour ritual that severely distracted the Firebird from attacking the other gods. Miscellaneous: Saradinus has the Book of Grand Spells, an artifact that allows casters to do magic more powerful than epic spells. All magic, even mortal magic is increased at least ten times more powerful when cast, as long as the caster possesses the book. |
