| #1brock_sJul 29, 2008 12:38:02 | I like that the magic items were moved to the PHB. I like the magic items they included. but I also really like making up my own to distribute as quest loot- for example my players took the hide from the White Dragon at the end of Fallcrest back to an armorer, and are now running around collecting materials to help make some armor out of it. here's what I came up with, I didn't really find any tools online for determining level of a made-up item, but I'm looking for ~item level 6. Cloudscythe Armor: +1 Leather Armor Enhancement: AC Property: 5 Resist Cold Power(Encounter, Arcane, Cold,): Immediate Reaction, Close Blast 1. Trigger: Struck by melee attack. The Area in a close blast 1 is considered difficult terrain (origin included). You may then shift 3 squares (don't forget the difficult terrain!). Effect lasts until end of your next turn. Thanks for the thoughts! |

| #3wrecanJul 30, 2008 8:36:00 | Since this thread is asking for an evaluation of a homemade item, it belongs in the House Rules forum. I'll ask for it to be transfered there. -wrecan, your friendly neighborhood forum lead |

Well now that it's been moved, I'd just like to say that this is exactly the right place for it. ![]() Whitebaron is right. Magic weapon enhancement bonuses increase at every 5 levels: 6, 11, 16, 21, 26 (I think, I don't have the PHB on me). |
| #6brock_sJul 31, 2008 11:15:28 | I'm just very worried about OP'ing my PC's...they are already a little ahead of the planned XP curve, and the encounters have been deliciously close so far (an encounter with any brute has caused at least one death/very close encounter). Combat is so tightly tuned I'm afraid that even a small advantage wiill propogate into ruining my encounters. |
