A new round ups the difficulty slightly and restores 1 daily and 4 healing surges. Maybe Round 1 - Encounters of level -3, -2, -1, -0, +1 Round 2 - Encounters of level -2, -1, -0, +1, +2 Round 3 - Encounters of level -1, 0, +1, +2, +3 Round 4 - Encounters of level 0, +1, +2, +3, +3 Round 5 - Encounters of level +1, +2, +3, +3, +4 Round 6 - Encounters of level +2, +3, +3, +4, +4 Round 7 - Encounters of level +3, +3, +4, +4, +5 And so one, seeing how long they can last. And remember, those + level encounters can be swarms of lower level enemies |

Allowing for short rests while also allowing players to keep their "until end of encounter" powers in use. So for instance, a paladins blessed weapon power will work the entire time, same with the wizards flaming sphere as long as he continues to sustain it. |
