So I've been looking at potential paragon paths for my character, and I'm  leaning toward Vidalis Griffonmaster. Here's the problem... I don't want a Griffon. I know it sounds ridiculous that I wouldn't want a flying mount, but my character has a bond with his wolf companion, and I want to keep him.

Since VGM is the premier PP for Beastmasters, I'm coming up with a potential houserule for my DM to review, in which I can utilize the stats for the Griffon, but apply them to a Dire Wolf. Take a look, and see if this is ok...

Ability Scores: Strength 20, Constitution 18, Dexterity 16, Intelligence 2, Wisdom 12, Charisma 6
Size: Large
Speed: 6 squares, Charge 8
Defenses: AC 13 + level, Fortitude 14 + level, Reflex 12 + level, Will 12 + level
Hit Points: 16 + 10 per level
Attack Bonus: Level + 4
Damage: 2d6
Melee Basic Attack: Bite; level + 4 vs. AC; 2d6 + Strength modifier damage.
Mount: The Dire Wolf is a mount.
Vicious Advantage: When the Dire Wolf has combat advantage against a target that it's master has hit on his or her turn, it can make a bite attack as a free action.
Trained Skills: Athletics, Endurance, Perception

It's really a re-skinning of the Griffon, I just carried over it's speed, figuring the -1 would come from the increase in size. Gave it a bonus to charging speed instead of the flight ability.

The problem I'm having is re-skinning Cooperative Charge. I could keep it as is, but I wanted to continue the Combat Advantage flavor of the heroic wolf. But since flanking with the beast is so easy, I decided to make it a "hits only" trigger.

Looking at the rest of the path, just change Invigorating Dive to Invigorating Charge, take out the part about flying and simply make it mounted, and it's good. Everything else lines up fine.

I don't see any reason to make it speed 6, a normal Dire Wolf is speed 8. I haven't seen the Vidalis Griffon, but I figure you should look at how fast it flies and give the Wolf comparable speed.

The Griffon has speed 6, fly speed of 8. Just carried those numbers over and changed it to charge speed.
