Basically you have large room with a floor of tiles. Some are trapped and some are safe or you have to step on them in a certain order. If you get it correct you are safe, wrong and you get caught in a trap.

You enter a large room or area that seals the door behind you and triggers a timer. You have to find your way through the maze to the other side before time runs out and a trap activates.

Over 9000 times.

Sorry couldn't resist. It's probably true too, but so what? If you want to use it. Use it.  Put your own spin on it.

go for it but put your own spin on it. like, maybe there are some tiles that have bizarre powers other than a penalty. maybe there are different shape tiles. maybe there is someway to time travel within the maze. just some ideas off the top of my head.
