The story I have in mind would have either earth elementals, humanoids or both cooperating to accomplish the assassination of one or more of the pantheon. My first flash of inspiration: Reality rips. Any other ideas? |

And I think there was a dagger that could give you the power to kill a god as well. Or there could be a problem in the mystical forces of the universe, turning the gods mortal for a very short length of time. A "race against the clock" scenario could be really fun. |

Their body continues fighting you until death (I think?), but it might as well just be an aspect, because they are long gone sucka. Usually something special needs to be done to bypass this power. Otherwise they are immortal. Your DM gets the pleasure of deciding what tasks, if any, are required to do this. For example, for Vecna, you might need to be wielding the sword of Kas to keep him from escaping when bloodied, as noted in Open Grave. Hope this was helpful. |
