Set in forgotten realms, the campaign centers around some dragonborn who (because of their caste) were barred from joining the military. Unhappy with the strict Dragonborn society, they left their home country. Led by a charismatic Warlord, the conspired to stir up the goblins along the sword coast, then they could swoop in and save the smaller, independent towns. Thus creating a small principality. His ultimate goal is to sacrifice a boatload of human civilians, and use blood magic to create a portal back to Abier, where he can march in with his army and kill the dragon tyrants, becoming a hero. This part of the campaign is meant to go through the heroic tier, and at the end, it is revealed he was being manipulated, by another force |

Basically they are going to get pulled into the plot by the random Goblin attacks and, while investigating into what is going on, they are going to catch on to what the Dragonborn Warlord is trying. Heck, the Warlord may even hire the PCs to kill the remaining goblins once they have outlived their usefullness. While routing the goblin horde, the PCs find evidence that the Dragonborn was behind the attacks all along. |

| #8HoundstoothSep 23, 2011 0:42:34 | my only comment is that Id skip the last part where the Dragonborn was being infulenced by something outside himself. I understand the appeal to have one story lead into another, but they do not how to line up end to end, the next story could be from that guy they met in that town they saved, and who told them what he thought of that Dragonborn, maybe they go back to say he was right only to find he.... Point is I like when an jerk is just a jerk, and not a victim... Aside from that I like the clear villian, there is travel built in. They might get caught between a dragon and an army which is cool, and saving the sword cost from goblin attacks ended up being a side quest, which is perfect for feeling like a hero. I like it! |
