I've been sitting on this class since about the time Essentials came out, and it feels like I should just finally get around to posting it for some feedback.

Formatted it all proper like to pass out to my players in addition to the rest of the Essentials books for my new campaign, so now I really have no excuse.

Some notes:

  • I borrow LIBERALLY from the internet.  Bloggers, posters here, everywhere.  If you see something in here that's yours, tell me, so I can remember where in the hell some of these great ideas came from.

  • There are two versions; One with Sneak Attack (as per 3.5), and one without.

  • The Spellthief is a sub-class of the rogue, just like the Thief.  All Rogue options apply, etc.

  • This is just the heroic tier.  Have most of Paragon done, but not formatted.

  • Most importantly: This class may very well be broken.  Help me bring it back into line?

How the class functions:

You're playing a much flashier version of your average rogue for the most part, but instead of a focus on mobility, or beating things into the ground, you have a small (but steadily expanding) bag of magical effects that you can add onto your basic attacks using Arcane Charges.

You can also spend these Arcane Charges to gain cantrip powers for an encounter, and do other random things as I think of them and add them to the list.

EDIT: Pretty sure most of the little cantrips came from the great Eberron Magewright Cantrips list posted by dieffenbachj of plotscaper.com, so uh...  Thanks! :D
