All of the teachers leave/die for some reason, leaving no one to stop the mad power creep of good students now able to research and master the most powerful spells in the forbidden sections of the library. A fun premise aside, that's pretty much all I have, and would like some help fleshing this out. How do I get players involved, etc. |

In the catacombs beneath the library, the faculty has sealed away a (demon, devil, powerful elemental, collection of evil wizards, rogue celestial, etc) behind wards that required regular maintenance. It managed to squeeze a part of itself through a crack a few years back, and started influencing a student, who proceeded to off the teachers one by one. Now, with the barriers degrading, the creature has outright possessed its original ally, and is influencing many of the others to bring down the remaining barriers quicker. A couple of students who proved resistant to its influence were thrown out, and have sought the party's aid in breaking the creature's hold on their classmates. It's a good scenario for ethical dilemmas; the antagonists are kids, really, and aren't entirely in control of their actions, but they have knowledge beyond their years that makes them an actual threat to the party. Toss in ways to take out the students that don't give the option of keeping them alive, like collapsing the building on them, or poisoning them, or setting some things that they've summoned loose that will kill, not incapacitate. |
