OK here's the deal, how do the characters find the dungeon? ![]() The basic set-up is that the party will go to the Kobold Caves and kick some mini biped dragon butt. The Kobolds have kidnapped some locals and a note alluding to their involvement has been found so the PC's know who they want to kill, but how do they find them? Ideas please!!! |

The kobolds were good at covering their tracks, but someone trained in Nature could follow them with a skill challenge however hard you want it to be. If successful, the party could get there before Something Bad happens, otherwise, they might be Just Too Late and have to deal with the results. Maybe one of the hostages is killed or maybe the kobolds get their grand trap set. 2. The infirm old priest of the village knows 3 rituals - Commune with Nature, Cure Disease, and Raise Dead. She is a very devout follower of Some God and will only help if the party completes a religion or diplomacy based skill challenge. If they do, she'll be on hand to cure or raise a party member who suffers an unfortunate fate, otherwise, she'll only do the Commune with Nature, and will charge the party something for that. 3. The kobolds have multiple teams out, and the PC's get to fight one. During the fight, a vicious and sneaky kobold gets knocked unconscious. Will he lead the party to the dungeon, or into a trap? That's up to the DM to decide, perhaps depending on the result of - you guessed it - a skill challenge! |

"Wow, how did you know that's exactly what I wrote on my notepad...damn!" Player smiles... Heh. We DMs are SO evil... Fox |

No I just need to find a way of letting my players come up with a plan that leads to a sheep herder who made a map of where his sheep can't go because of injured kobolds crawling by; he will give the players the map after they complete a skill challenge! ![]() But really, thanks. |
