Naturally, this is an impossible task, but that's not the entire mission of the PCs-just destroying the Sues who are so bad, that they threaten the fabric of Fiction-land, and at epic levels, the banishment of some of the authors who create them to another dimension. So, workable but wacky idea, or not? |
| #2axterixSep 26, 2008 15:12:26 | Party would need a DMPC as the most powerful member of the party and whose personality mirrors the DMs ![]() |

| #4awesome_dudeSep 26, 2008 15:25:40 | I once played in a Mary Sue campaign in GURPS (the PCs were more awesome versions of their real-world selves). It was wild. Especially when a PC died and everybody found out he didn't really die or was reborn or something. That never got old. |
| #5axterixSep 26, 2008 15:27:22 | It could make for an interesting campaign, especially if you can introduce some moral issues into it. The Mary Sue is benevolent, the best ruler ever. If you kill it, chaos will reign and the world goes bye-bye. What do you do? Do you leave it? Do you try and set up someone to be ready to take over to avoid the chaos? Or do you kill it and let chaos reign? |

| #7axterixSep 26, 2008 16:15:05 | You could also play it partially like Quantum Leap. Drop them into situations and they've got to figure out where they are at, and, if they fail to figure it out, some support from Al. |

| #9exposed_wiresSep 26, 2008 17:05:14 | I think it could be fun if you keep it light-hearted. Take your inspiration from deviantart. |

| #11bruceskiSep 26, 2008 17:47:42 | Two things: A Mary-Sue is a self insert into a work of fiction. Generally refers to the extreme version: self-insert only better. For example, a Harry Potter fanfic in which a new student shows up with high mastery of magic, and who immediately is pursued by Harry Draco and Snape. Male version is the Gary Stu. |
