| #1knarfensteinJan 10, 2010 10:54:07 | So I am getting back into D&D and am setting up for my own Homebrew campaign. This is what I have thus far for material:
My Plan was to start the PC's in the Nentir Vale using the DMG Fallcrest setting as a basis for my overall world. I was going to start my campain Arc as follows:
I plan to exclude the Dragonborn, Tieflings, Eladrin (I'll rename these back to High Elves), Goliath, Shifter and Diva. Call me a purist if you will but I prefer the classical fantasy races from 1st and 2nd Ed. I plan to have my campaign story to be centered around the following: The Nerath Empire fell because the Emperor wanted to attain immortality, which of course he achieves but at a steep price. He becomes undead (Lich perhaps) and unleashes a Zombie Plague across the land. (The players will have seeds planted throughout the published adventures I am going to run that will start off the grander campaign once we finish my above Arc, using the Open Grave book for flavor.) To the North the Bloodspear Tribe is gaining a new taste for blood, this of course includes the Nentir Vale. I would like to try to tie the Bloodspear Tribe in with the people of the Nentir Vale in an effort to overcome the Zombie Plague that's sweeping the lands from the southern Nerath Empire. (Kind of an uneasy alliance) I was thinking about a giant rift in the planes that turns large portions of land into ash or "dead zones" in which magic is useless (Kind of a preserver / defiler type scenario) I am just in the fledgling stages of putting this into motion. I would love any and all input / ideas / feedback I can get from you guys. Cheers! |

Could be interesting to drop this in as an overall campaign backdrop as the emporer is a follower of Vecna. Maybe the emporer being undead could be hidden early in the campaign and become evident later. I started my campaign in the same place but with a different backdrop to the empire of Nerath. |
