Figured some others might like the idea and decided to post it up... Non Weapon Implements have a +2 proficiency bonus. As long as you are proficient with the Implement you are using, you gain it's proficiency bonus towards your Implement attack powers. Weapons used as Implements retain their proficiency bonus and apply it to implement powers as long as the user is proficient with the weapon as an implement (such as through feat or magic item benefit). Superior Implements grant the user a +3 proficiency bonus. Thoughts? |

If you go with that house-rule, than implement users will have a very clear accuracy advantage over weapon users. I would say 'no' to that houserule myself... monster defences and various attack powers are balenced around weapons having profecency and impliments not. |

I don't think I've ever seen a summon that attacked AC. Which ones are you thinking of? I can only remember a tiny handful of Implement vs. AC attacks, most specifically that crappy Psion power nobody should ever take. |
| #6IgfigSep 11, 2010 22:54:23 | I think there's a warlock power and a few artificer ones that are just Ability vs. AC (probably because they're supposed to be more damaging or something), but most of the vs. AC implement powers out there now are more like Ability + 2 vs. AC. In other words, they've already accounted for it. Don't screw it up. |

The WOC designers are experienced but not perfect, as shown by the many updates that have been released, not to mention some of the "re-imagining" involved in the Essentials line. So my thought is always try it out, if it works great, if not drop it. |
