I want the feat to allow him to second wind as a minor action, or get to attack when he second winds, or something similar. There is already a human feat for this (Frantic Recovery) that allows humans to SW as a minor after they spend an AP. I want to make one that is goliath-themed, but balanced. Please compare these feats to Frantic Recovery. Which of these do you think is most fair? (Or, do you have other suggestions?): Mountain's Resilience v.1Heroic Tier Prerequisite: Goliath Benefit: If you have not yet expended stone's endurance in this encounter, you may second wind as a minor action. If you do so, you expend stone's endurance without receiving its benefit this encounter. Mountain's Resilience v.2Heroic Tier Prerequisite: Goliath Benefit: While your stone’s endurance racial power is active, you can use your second wind as a minor action. Resilient AvalancheHeroic Tier Prerequisite: Goliath Benefit: When you make a basic attack as a standard action, you may use your second wind, or your stone's endurance racial power, as part of the same action you used to make the attack. You cannot use either ability if it is already expended for the encounter. Resilient GuardianHeroic Tier Prerequisite: Goliath, Warden Benefit: When you use your stone's endurance racial power, you get the same benefits from warden class features, powers, and feats that you would get when you use your second wind. |

The second seems fair too (it basically means you have to not move to be unbreakable; thematic enough for a Warden) The third one is too easy I think; making a Basic Attack is not much of a penalty to be gaining massive bonusses a Warden gets, probably not even enough for the bonusses a normal character gets. The last one can get really strong because it allows you to access your Warden power two rounds per encounter, which I don't think is the idea... Personally, having to pick, I'd give players the option of the second one (Mountain's Resilience v.2) But, Goliaths already make really, really good Wardens and I'm not sure if you want to make them even better at it; you'll approach the point where it's pointless to play any other Race with a Warden I think. |
