Some people in my group have said that Weapon Talent is not a strong enough featue on its own, so I have added the following to its class features.

Whenever the Fighter is wielding a weapon which qualifies for his Weapon Talent and would make an Opportunity Attack or an attack granted to him by his Combat Challenge Class Feature, he gains a +2 bonus to the damage roll.  Increase this bonus to +3 at the Paragon Tier and +4 at the Epic Tier.

It's a good buff, but nothing extraordinary.  Thoughts?

Fighter weapon talent is not that bad.  +1 to attack is basically the same as upgrading your weapon to the next category for free (essentially upgrading your proficiency bonus).  That said, your house rule shouldn't hurt your game to any extent since the damage bonus is limited to certain attacks.

Agreed, I personally like Fighter Weapon Talent.  This is mostly for my players.

Good.

Weapon Talent is already very powerful, it just doesn't seem as cool, not having a unique style associated with it. Your bonus certainly isn't game-breaking, but if there is to be a bonus it should be more stylistic than practical. For example, Weapon talent could be required to access the rider on the Weapon Master at-will.

while a +1 to attack is nice it alone does not compare to tempest, you alteration seams fare you could also instead grant a bonus superior weapon feat, Since the fighter focuses on weapons might as well let that training be reflected by allowing him a weapon that requires more training. as for balence tempest grants attack bonus, damage bonus, and 2 weapon defence feat so a
+1 to attack rolls when weilding a weapon 1 handed (or 2 handed for the 2 handed weapon training) and granting a superior weapon training feat seams both fluff wise and balence wise on par.
