The Infernal Half-Elf is what happens when a half-elf born of an elf and a half elf mates with a 25% elf/25% tiefling/50% human...

Leaving us with the Infernal Half Elf. This is my first attempt at race creation, so bear with me. This race is campaign specific.

Infernal Half-Elf

Born of human and elven parents, one or both possessing an infernal bloodline, these half-elves are forced to engage in a life-long battle to master the the chaos within.

Racial Traits
Average Height: 5'5"-6'2"
Average Weight: 130-190 lb.

Ability Scores: +2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma.
Size: Medium
Speed: 6 squares
Vision: Low-light

Languages: Common, Elven, choice of one other
Skill Bonuses: +2 Bluff, +2 Insight

Dilettante: At 1st level, you choose a 1st-level at-will attack power from a class different from yours. You can use that power as an encounter power.

Mixed Heritage:
You can take feats that have either elf, human or tiefling as a prerequisite, as long as you meet any other requirements. You may not take half-elf feats.

Group Voice:
Your quick wit grants allies within 10 squares of you a +1 racial bonus to Bluff checks.

Mixed heritage could lead to imbalances, though none come to mind. What a mixed up race, which may be common in your games, but in most this would be a 1 in a billion chance if not less likely. Seems a bit silly to make a race for just one player, but I guess it goes with saying 'yes'.

Sorry to not be helping,but:

Can I ask what, exactly does "PEACH" mean? I'm seeing it a lot on these boards - and I can usually (eventually) manage to either puzzle-out an acronym, or search it down, but apparently my search-fu is weak.

What does "PEACH" mean? in the context of someone posting some character or houserule creation and asking "Please PEACH" ???

Well, to give you an idea of where I'm coming from on this:

It all started when my girlfriend decided she wants to play D&D with me. I've been working on a campaign world in my spare time, and I have ancient infernal ties built in already... so then my girlfriend says she wants to play... and she wants to be a tiefling... unfortunately she likes the 3.5 edition tiefling better because it's more human like and she wants to live as a human...

So I created the infernal half-elf.

It fits into my campaign world and keeps the lady happy... I just want to make sure its balanced.

umm...If she wants to be a more human-like tiefling, why the infernal elf? Why not just say "OK, you're a half-tiefling," with the same stats but, maybe, swap the resist fire for a bonus feat. Or take the normal teifling and get rid of the tail and so forth.

Oh, and PEACH= Please Examine And Critique Honestly

Ugh. I dislike 25% this 25% that 33% another races. In a bad bad way. I rarely comment about flavor text, (which this is) Change it. Make it just a Elf/Tiefling mix. Please.

+2 Int +2 Charisma makes for a strong Feylock. How about +2Int +2Con make him strong for Firelock? Really its ok as is, but mostly idendtical to a tiefling.

Obviously if you include my change to just tieflings no human feats. Honestly it would better to do it my way, as is there is no reason to select tieflings, (mechanically speaking) if it was your intent to replace tieflings with this race, it will be fine. If your group is mostly about RP based decisions it Might be fine.

The first time a Infernal Half Elf who has action surge and hellfire blood gets +4 to his scorching blast though, might change things.

Seeing This: Remove the horns and other obviously infernal features of the tieflings in your campaign, or state certain tribes don't have them.
Viola: Girlfriend happy, you happy, campaign setting has something unique that doesn't need to be balanced mechanically.
So I created the infernal half-elf.

It fits into my campaign world and keeps the lady happy... I just want to make sure its balanced.

See above for my single point of balance concern as is.

Except that in 4E (and I assume this is a 4E game/question), the descendants of tieflings are always tieflings, regardless of how many generations removed they are. What you'd get is a tiefling with ears that are more pointed than normal, but that's it as far as I can see.

Tieflings already have similar abilities to elves and eladrin anyway. Personally, I'd be firm and tell her to either play a tiefling (period) with an elven or half-elven ancestor as part of her backstory, or to just play a half-elf. It sounds to me like she wants the best of both worlds, without what she sees as a drawback. Sure, I understand that this is your girlfriend, but I wouldn't let my wife try to get away with something like that (and as a serious gamer, she wouldn't try to do something so twinkish in the first place.)
