| #1brap8Apr 23, 2011 11:04:45 | i have done alot of reading and love the nentir vale setting. Is there a Box set for this or a campaign guide for dm ..thanks |

That is basically the idea that the whole campaign world doesn't need to be detailed, instead focusing adventures on the interesting places in the world and imagining vast wilderness in between. This region in which the points of light are set is Nentir Vale. Fallcrest and Kobold Hall are talked about in the DMG, and then in any of the published adventures like Keep on the Shadowfell, Thunderspire Labyrinth, etc you'll get information about additional "points of light" in and around (and under) the Vale. Products like Vor Rukoth and Hammerfast are great as well, unique in that they don't contain adventures per se, but rather fully fleshed out areas, NPCs, and adventure hooks. |

So, while there isn't a box set like shadowfell is going to be, there are plenty of supplements released already that will flesh out the Vale for you and give you more than enough to get your players into the late heroic to early paragon tier. |
| #4HobbitFanApr 23, 2011 20:18:34 | there was going to be a gazeteer but this is going to be parceled out in Dungeon or Dragon articles. When the board game comes out that should probably have some information you can use to. |
| #5mgbeachApr 23, 2011 20:52:40 | I've really enjoyed the Domains of Dread articles that have been released, especially Sunderheart, The Funeral City from Dragon 368. You can tell it's cool just by looking at the picture: |
| #6HobbitFanApr 23, 2011 22:35:32 | I haven't read them so I don't know how much info you can gleam from them but there is a Mark Of Nerath novel by Bill S. that is set here and so is the IDW comic book. |
| #7mgbeachApr 23, 2011 22:40:13 | Yeah, the Mark of Nerath, Seal of Karga Kul, and the new first book in the Abyssal Plague series Temple of the Yellow Skulls are all set in Nentir Vale (well, I know Mark and Temple are, and I think Seal is but I haven't read it), and while they aren't the best written D&D novels I've ever read, they are decent and do give a pretty good feel for the place. |
| #8pruanoApr 24, 2011 7:40:01 | The Monster Vault: Threats to the Nentir Vale will probably be the most likely box associated the setting. The Nentir Vale Gazeteer would probably have been the best source on the setting, but it was cancelled and the content is most likely being used in the coming DDi articles that coincide with the launch of the boardgame. Besides, they have already given an official response to the general question here. |
