Just need a good sounding nickname...

Apr 23, 2011 3:05:06 Heyya. I'm just gerally asking if anyone can come up with a decent nick name for a continent. Like how Japan is the land of the rising sun or Canada is Brother to America (or America's hat if you're a jerk.)

Some backstory: Anu, chief Babylonian god of the sky and the Earth created this campagin setting (of my own design) by slaying Tiamat and rending her material body into two. ( we know Tiamat is THE godess of evil dragons and that she lives on the first level of hell, but we can assume that gods can gain their body back if they arent killed on their home plane. Pluss this is actually Babylonian mythoi.)

Anyway, I drew up a continent map that the main story of my campagin takes place in. I plan of creating more continents around this theme that every continent kinda resembles a piece of a Dragon's body (nothing perverted) but the main continent I drew, whithout realizing it at first, looks an aweful lot like a dragon's head. it has an open chanel that I named "The Maw", which is a sea leading inland that resembles a dragon's open mouth, and the continent has a peninsula above resembling a horn.

So anyway. I'm thinking of a nick name for the continent but all I can come up with is "The Dragon Headed Continent." Which is really lame. Need help. Appreciate it alot. Thanks.

I may not even use the Idea, as it may not ever come up in game, but I'd at least like some flair to the world.

Ohhhhh.. that's good stuff! Maybe have there be a lot of seismic or volcanic activity as well? Maybe have microclimates matching the habitats of the 5 chromatic dragons? Mountains (red) with lush forests (green) on the rainy side, and dry, windswept desert (blue) on the other. A glacier (white) coming down from the north with boggy swampland at its base. Here is a hi-resolution 3D photo-realistic example I whipped up real quick...

And I like the photo-realistic high def pic there. Tha's some dandy cartography skills. Looks alot like something from google map. lolz good stuff guys.

Match it to the color or metal of the dragon and you're set! Just either make some kind of play off the color, metal, or breathe weapon.
