There is a project to do just that, at http://kotb.wikispaces.com/ . It does not look to have gotten very far yet, but some decent are ideas there. |

We started this before the books were out and ended up using it as a spring board for our own works... I would enjoy getting back to it but just hasn't been a priority. Maybe you can jump start some things! |
| #5erichFeb 10, 2009 21:16:28 | Actually, I was going to run the first part of the module this Friday. I seem to recall a bandit camp that might make a decent first encounter, and then the kolbold caves. I'll see if I can get them posted. -Erich |

| #8CHeardFeb 16, 2009 15:24:53 | At Origins last year, I think I played a "Return to the Keep on the Borderlands" adventure put on by Amorphous Blob Games. |
| #9OreFeb 16, 2009 19:56:09 | Did it use the 4E rules? WOTC produced a Return to the Keep on the Borderlands using the 3E rules (or maybe it was 3.5E). I own both the original and the sequel and I love them. One of my favorite adventures of all time. |
| #10smirkinFeb 19, 2009 17:57:40 | Yup. I'm actually doing it now. I have a party of five people going through it and I have changed a few things to make it fit better into 4th edition. I started the game by having the party begin the adventure at the town of Loudwater in the Forgotten Realms. They began the adventure just like its stated in the beginning of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide only I added in a few elements of my own. I made the town get attacked by Goblins just like in the adventure only when they went to see Lady Moonfire I had the leader of the Merchant's guild arrive during their meeting and demand an audience to complain because one of their Caravan's had been attacked, looted, and the survivors taken as slaves to the Goblin's lair. I had the Wizard Curuvar the Brazen give them a map of the general area of the Caves of Chaos. I had him create his own spell that auto-mapped the area but before he could finish the job he was attacked and chased away by too much Goblin opposition ( I actually took the time to trace the map on Vellum and gave it to the party, minus the squares for measurement, and made sure it only included the caves that could be seen because they were not covered with trees. The caves from the origional map were not drawn on but I did trace all the trees and elevation marks). I then had the leader of the Merchant's guild offer them a reward for bringing his merchant buddy back from the caves alive, with his wife and any other survivors they could find, as well as bringing as much of the weapons and armor and other items taken in the caravan raid as they could find. (These of course are found in the old Hobgoblin caves). Not known to the party is that in every single cave complex I placed Kobolds ( except for the Ogre cave, the old Minotaur cave, and the old Owlbear cave) who worship an adult Red Dragon that has moved in to the area and enslaved the entire cave complex and his Lair is the Cave of the Unknown on the old map. Area 51 on the old map leads to it as well. As the party progresses in levels they will eventually learn all about the Dragon and also run into the extra fanatical Kobolds that worship the Dragon as presented in the Draconomicon. Its turning into quite the nice adventure. |
