Through clever tactics and psychological warfare, you aim to keep their attention. Minor Action Close burst 2 Effect: You mark the target, and you pull it up to two squares. You can pull a marked enemy up to two squares as a minor action during your turn. If you willingly move away from a marked enemy, and the enemy is no longer adjacent to you, the mark will end immediately if it starts its turn at least 1 square away from you. Palidar's Sanction - Palidar Attack The fool who dares to scorn your challenge will live to regret it. Until the stance ends, you gain a +3 power bonus to melee weapon damage rolls as long as none of your allies are adjacent to the target. The bonus damage is of the energy type you selected, and you can't change this energy type until you end the stance. Level 11: +4 power bonus. Level 21: Two energy types, at a +5 power bonus. Sweeping Assault - Palidar Utility 1 Your enemies try surrounding you, thinking you an easy target. With a furious sweeping of attacks, you prove you're not so easy to get the better of. At-Will – Martial, Stance Minor Action Personal Effect: You assume the Sweeping Assault stance. Until the stance ends, whenever you hit an enemy with a melee basic attack, you may attack each marked enemy adjacent to you with a melee basic attack until you've hit each of them once this turn or have missed one with an attack. All Palidar stances use the martial power source, but may be Arcane as well. All Palidar daily attacks use the arcane power source, but may be martial as well. ***NOTES*** While I didn't create the name for this class, it fills an archetype that I've wanted to see for some time. It's been bugging me that the arcane power source lacks a heavy armour defender type in spite of the restriction on heavy armour being lifted. I noticed some players did not like the restriction of the Swordmage on blades only as implements, so I decided to try creating a class to fill the design space. I realize the new defenders have been printed with a defender aura, and while I think that feature is cool, I think there's still design space for new defenders that mark their adversaries. I have two class ideas with this theme, the palidar above, and the warrior. I'll get to the warrior at another time. I realize someone else started this experiment in another post, but given the amount of attention creating a new class requires, I decided to use this format to ask the community's help. Some basic design information about the Palidar:
