| #1UrielApeironNov 05, 2009 13:58:07 | There will be 4 or 5 PCs of level 2 going against a level 5 Howling Hag. The adventure tools let me drop her some levels. This is the "big bad" so i want it to be a tough fight. i have no problem with one of them dying in the battle (it's the second half of a One Shot game). The battle happens in her hut in the swamp. i was thinking she might have dominated the local kobolds. The PCs could either be typical PCs and attack them, or maybe recieve help from them. The swamp itself is meant to be outside of civilization... mysterious and dangerous. Perhaps it can be in the feywild (i haven't looked into what the feywild is yet). 1) How do i make her tough enough to be dangerous, but not impossible? 2) What sort of other critters might she bring to the fight? 3) How can i give the villian and the fight a fairy tale feel? i mean old school fairy tale with children being eaten, not fairy god mothers. i had a thought about her hut growing Baba Yaga like legs and running off. She doesn't have to be a Howling Hag, but i do want something scary old lady witch like. The Hag can teleport some number of squares. i thought when she's bloodied she'd give off her howl and flee outside. Where there could be some critters coming to her aid. Tentcles or roots springing to attack the PCs. What suggestions do you have?
