Does anyone still play the oriental adventures campaign series? I only ask because no one seems to ever talk about it any more. If there is anyone who still does here, then here is something I typed up during the summer. It is a list of all major areas in the land of Rokugan. I catagorized them for easy reference into sectors and sub sectors.

The reason I did this is so I can easily memorize them all without having to re read the books every time I have to look something up. By assigning a code to each area I can easily scan each section and reduce the amount of material I have to read when searching for a particular thing.

Alderac Entertainment Group now owns the IP of Rokugan and related materials.  You may want to visit their forums so they can as what in the world you're talking about with 'space pirates'.

I always really enjoyed Rokugan as a setting, but I never had a chance to play it.  I had written up a few stories, but they never went anywhere.  Rokugan, I think, is a setting where all the players have to be on the same page; there's a lot of important history to understand, and clan politics, and matters of social etiquette.  Basically, everyone needs to read the book from cover to cover.  That's not something the people I play with do, lol.  They're better suited to more "standard" fantasy campaign settings, like Faerun.

I didn't know the IP switched hands.  I'll have to check out Alderac Entertainment, and see what they've done with it.

I've recently adopted John Wick's "Blood & Honor" for samurai politics, but also thought about running space samurai set years ago and never got around to doing it (why I now watch the "Tenra Bansho" project with interest).

They may have a new, sectioned map of Rokugan at L5R's website, in case that helps further.

NO!  They can't have it... it's ours!

Do you ever get the feeling the original poster is really computer software programmed to generate something that looks like RPG Jargon written in English, but is really random phrases pulled out of databases of things that have little to do with each other to produce results that actually aren't, strictly speaking, RPG Jargon or English?  Essentially, the RPG equivalent of Lorem Ipsum text?

With that in mind, it might have generated an Oriental Adventures/Spelljammer crossover that sounds more interesting to me than either setting alone, so maybe it's good for some non-linear brainstorming, at least....

Unless the software you are talking about is a fully self concious AI that acts exactly like the human brain and condition, then your argument is invalid. Also obvious troll is obvious?

Also I will check for an updated map too, thx.

I've never claimed to be anything other than that, hence the picture.

Nevertheless, even though I don't always follow what you are trying to describe, I sincerely mean it when I say I wouldn't want to lose you to another website, that you are one of the most consistently entertaining posters on these forums, and that you do inspire some good ideas by way of non-linear brainstorming.

Please, keep doing what you are doing

Entertaining as in a lolcow or just unique? "Today we venture into the lands of the /v/irgins with our new army of /k/ommandos!"
