| #1TophehOct 20, 2009 18:46:03 | LoC3: Lightvoid |
| #2AradeiaOct 20, 2009 18:53:17 | Here is the first of the four starter gods. Name: The Three Sisters Domain: Time Physical Appearance: At first, this god takes the form of three incorporeal voices, though if a visual is absolutely necessary, they take the form of three orbs of light. Once creatures are created, the Three Sisters may take the form of three females of any species. Symbol: Three birds of any type. |
| #3TophehOct 20, 2009 18:56:22 | As a starting god, I'll post mine up now. Name: Grawlf |
| #4ff6shadowOct 20, 2009 19:28:57 | Name: Lohak |
| #5MechaliburOct 20, 2009 19:39:27 | (I am not a mod, but somehow I ended up being one of the starting gods. Destruction isn't necesarily the domain I wanted, but hey, that means less competition for darkness |
| #6angelofthenightOct 20, 2009 21:58:06 | I'm pretty sure you all know this bye now, but I'm interested. As for god concepts, I know they're irrelevant this time around, but I'd be interested in trying to play a non-malevolent god of Undeath. If anyone wants to ascend me, that'd be cool. :P |
| #7ff6shadowOct 20, 2009 22:11:06 | See how things turn out, but remember, players cannot ascend a specific player. |
| #8AldiiOct 21, 2009 2:30:43 | In that Case, I hereby inform the Admins that I am interested in being a part of LotC 3. |
| #9ff6shadowOct 21, 2009 2:44:28 | Aldii, you don't post a god or domain. You simply need post that you wish to be added to the waiting list. Nothing more. |
| #10nerdzulOct 21, 2009 2:55:53 | Ofc I'll be interested, For a domain I was thinking (but of course that is irrelevant in the current incarnation of the rules), about death, spirits, darkness, life or fire (yes I have a quite broad range of choice). |
| #11MechaliburOct 21, 2009 5:37:58 | Actually, it is a good idea to have a list of the domains that you would like, so we know what the popular ones might be. |
| #12MassiveAttackOct 21, 2009 6:37:44 | Interested. I was looking to death myself, but I don't think I will be beating anyone to the punch with this ascension system. |
| #13nerdzulOct 21, 2009 6:55:51 | yes also it could be nice at the beginning of the game to have a list of domains that are going to come into existence in a short time, like a week or so... (so that ppl can organize and maybe decide to wait a little and not to rush in their choices of domains). Also it might be fair to send the pm on a "neutral" hour to allow ppl that lives in different time zones than the usa to partecipate in the "selection" (Shameless self promotion as I don't live in the usa myself but I think I'm not alone hehe). |
| #14AldiiOct 21, 2009 10:06:07 | I would like to play as a Goddess of the Sun or one of the other larger celestial bodies such as the Moon or the stars. |
| #15iyestormOct 21, 2009 12:42:12 | I'm alive, and I'm interested in this game.
Edit: Forgot the domain list. I'll add on more if I remember more.
Domains I like: Accidents, Learning, Adaptation, Synergy. The first two are my favorites, though. |
| #16ekluagOct 21, 2009 14:37:39 | Ok, in a misunderstanding I accidentaly posted a god of Creation on the wiki. Ignore it, please. For domains, I would look at creation (duh), light, darkness, life. I see a god of Destruction will be created on the first turn, so in the interests of a sort of cosmic balance, a Creation god, should be created also. Not necessarily me, but it makes sense to have that sort of balance. |
| #17chapienOct 21, 2009 17:16:56 | Chapien want in. Add me to waiting list. Yes, yes! Fast! |
| #18LordManshoonOct 21, 2009 18:48:14 | I'm interested as well, though I'm completely new to this. I was hoping to go for a god of the forge with a disciplined bend (metalworking, endurance, and/or meditation). I hope things work out well enough. |
| #19MechaliburOct 21, 2009 20:18:37 |
Trust us, we look forward to having new players. |
| #20matthewswiftOct 21, 2009 20:23:20 | I napped through the last one, so I'm going to have to try and remind everyone I'm still electric. Sign me up. |
| #21mostly_ghostlyOct 21, 2009 21:45:02 | Hey everyone - I'm definitely interested in playing. I think I'm already on the waiting list, but I'm not sure. Domains I like, in no particular order: Cities, Underground/The Underworld, Murder, Vengeance/Hatred, Transformation/Shapeshifting/Change/Growth/Birth, Madness, Flight/Birds, Storms, Insects, Blades/Sharpness, Language |
| #22XeadinOct 22, 2009 0:45:50 | I am definitely interested. Name: Latholaneau The domains are in fact suggestions for Latholaneau. Something along the lines of Arcane magic is fine. |
| #23TophehOct 22, 2009 0:56:42 | Xeadin- please read the first post for the new way we're doing things. Edit: Ah, nevermind... you're just jumping the gun a little bit Everyone- I've been experimenting with various approaches to examine connections between races and nations. Take a look at how LoC2's nations were connected at the end of the game! |
| #24Demetri_KnighthawkOct 22, 2009 10:12:59 | I am interested in this as well |
| #25tinweOct 22, 2009 10:33:44 | I'm down. THings I would be interested in are Magic/Invention/Alchemy/Artifice, as well as Air/Lightning/Storms |
| #26AnubisDreadOct 22, 2009 16:02:29 | I'm in of course, it'll be great to play again, especially in the early stages since I came in so late last time. As for a domain wish list, I suppose Nature, Aberrations, Air, Slaughter, Constructs/Technology and Insects would all be cool domains to have... not all on the same god though obviously, they'd have to have schizophrenia or something |
| #27angelofthenightOct 22, 2009 19:38:40 | You wouldn't have become interested in insects because of the Krukicks would you...?:P |
| #28AnubisDreadOct 22, 2009 19:40:36 | Nah, came up with the idea for an insect god a while ago... though I do admit they may have played a part in rekindling the interest |
| #29XeadinOct 22, 2009 19:55:03 | A god of insects would be a cool and interesting god... Swordwings qualify as insects as well... I think that the domain of Magic is starting to become popular... just my observations so far... maybe Magic might be a little broad... Magic could be divided into more specific domains, like Arcane, Alchemy, Divine, things like that. My assumptions could be wrong at the same time... |
| #30angelofthenightOct 22, 2009 21:03:54 | Arcane and Divine are already divided. |
| #31Lord_VentnorOct 22, 2009 23:51:17 | Missed the last one, and this looks like a fun game. Is there a need for a Weather God? 'Cause I'd be totally into that. |
| #32XeadinOct 23, 2009 8:46:31 | Topheh- Just as a heads up, when I clicked on the "Intro and rules Overview" link on the first post, several viruses tried to infect my computer. I'm so glad it still had Firewall... Not that it would be your fault, I'm just giving everyone a heads up. |
| #33TophehOct 23, 2009 9:55:42 | Well, that is concerning. I certainly haven't seen anything of the sort. Anyone else had that happen? Wikia should be a fairly secure site... or at least the background architecture should be. |
| #34LordManshoonOct 23, 2009 9:57:19 |
I've tried it on two different computers. Both were smooth sailing with no viruses. |
| #35TophehOct 23, 2009 10:54:58 | Thanks |
| #36TophehOct 23, 2009 12:21:27 | Important last minute rule change: We're doing away with the 4PP superior domain classification. Originally we had thought that adding an additional tier would allow for more room in actually delineating domains so we don't get a lot of things bunched together in 'lesser domains', but aside from a few examples (life/creatures/dragons/red dragons being one of them), we had issues coming up with such fine levels of gradation for most sets of domains... (air, weather, wind, zephyr? knowledge, communication, language, common?) So, back to the old familiar greater/moderate/lesser system. Superior spawn and mold actions still remain, though. |
| #37matthewswiftOct 23, 2009 14:42:56 | GAH! I've been checking here during all my classes, waiting for the Big Bang! The Suspense is driving me insane!!! |
| #38TophehOct 23, 2009 15:09:16 | Heh. Just waiting for Aradeia to get finished with her own classes and we will begin. Likely in the next few hours. Ara, so... your sisters. Clotho, Lachesis and Susan?
|
| #39MechaliburOct 23, 2009 15:43:18 | Susan, Bob, and Laura |
| #40tinweOct 23, 2009 16:14:22 | This cosmos needs more upheaval.
Just sayin' |
| #41XeadinOct 23, 2009 17:50:25 |
Nope- that was the only link I had problems with. All others are fine. I'm using OneCare from Qwest. 20 viruses... Maybe someone out there in cyberspace wired that link to send spyware... it was that TrojanHorse virus that tried coming in. |
| #42MechaliburOct 23, 2009 20:12:49 | Okay, in case anyone hasn't realized it yet, the In Character thread is up. The only four people allowed to post at this time are Aradeia, ff6shadow, Topheh, and myself (Moondoggy got to post the intro since he thought of it, but cannot post anything else). We plan on ascending some gods soon, so check your PMs and this thread often if you want in |
| #43shadowhntr7Oct 23, 2009 20:37:02 | Are applications still allowed, or is it closed? |
| #44TophehOct 23, 2009 20:52:07 | Applications are always allowed. I'll add you to the list. |
| #45veokOct 23, 2009 23:01:42 | This is something that I am interested in. I would be interested in these domains: Order, Flowers, Law, Learning, Unity, Foresight, Zealotry, Protection, Fountains, Meditation, or Introspection |
| #46mostly_ghostlyOct 23, 2009 23:35:50 | Edited - Submitted too early. Sorry! |
| #47MechaliburOct 23, 2009 23:45:08 | You have to wait till the PMs are out. Sometimes it takes a while. (I would still save that though |
| #48AnubisDreadOct 23, 2009 23:48:32 | I am literally refreshing my inbox every minute or so waiting for that PM... yay for eagerness, or OCD, either way |
| #49matthewswiftOct 23, 2009 23:55:57 | God get? |
| #50LordManshoonOct 23, 2009 23:59:26 | God Name: Sorstal Starting Domain: Invention Appearance: An orb of dark blue light, surrounded by an opal mist Holy Symbol: A dark silver triangle with a dark blue teardrop in the center EDIT: Nevermind then. |
| #51ff6shadowOct 24, 2009 0:00:41 | Nobody posts the god when the PM goes out. PM back that you want the domain, and wait for our confirmation return. |
| #52LordManshoonOct 24, 2009 0:02:18 | Sorry about that. I hope my PM is interpreted as my desire to claim the domain of Invention, not a demand. I sorta got carried away. |
| #53mostly_ghostlyOct 24, 2009 0:03:54 | Damn it. Who'd have thought there'd be seven people following the thread at one in the morning? Obviously I greatly underestimated how incredibly popular this game is. =] |
| #54AnubisDreadOct 24, 2009 0:06:25 | Sorry man, but a) you have to PM the god, not post it here, and b) I just got the secrets domain... sorry ^_^; Not a domain I would have considered originally, but I'm actually really liking the prospect of playing a secretive, dark god after playing around with a child god in LoC2 God Name: The Silent One, or The Voice without Sound Starting Domain: Secrets Appearance: At the moment, a shifting field of inky blackness conceals all behind it and within it. Holy symbol: A plain black disk I'm going to wait for OOC thread approval before posting IC |
| #55AldiiOct 24, 2009 0:11:55 |
|
| #56moondoggyOct 24, 2009 0:15:54 | I've been waiting for that PM for a few hours. Luckily this is only the first of many more gods and goddess. And remember, even if you get something you don't want you can still make it fun! |
| #57AnubisDreadOct 24, 2009 0:17:17 | Too true Moondoggy, restrictions breed creativity... I really need to stop saying that before it becomes my catchphrase or something. It's around 4pm here, so I admit to having a bit of an advantage time wise |
| #58mostly_ghostlyOct 24, 2009 0:22:35 | Can I just say that I love how the God of Creation is a douche-bag? Props to ff6 =] |
| #59AnubisDreadOct 24, 2009 0:24:49 | Well, having your domain in the title of the RP WOULD give you a bit of a complex |
| #60ff6shadowOct 24, 2009 0:36:10 | Anubis, you recieved a PM approving you. You are good to go. Further, anyone interested should join the LoC group - community.wizards.com/lordsofcreation Turns out, the new PM system isn't so great for this . . . . we've not switched for sure, but we are considering using the group broadcast system to send out the notice, with a PM to claim it. |
| #61XeadinOct 24, 2009 12:16:58 |
Yeah- this new PM system is atrocious. Before the upgrade, you could enter anyone's name- friend or no friend. Now, it's either you have friends or you have to click on each individual name or avatar... which sucks if you're trying to get word out to several people... |
| #62ff6shadowOct 24, 2009 22:29:53 | Just a reminder, further Domain announcements will be sent through the broadcast system, not the PM system, as we test it. It will run as follows: We broadcast the newly available domain, then you PM to the broadcasting admin you interest. We will PM the first person to respond back, confirming them. |
| #63veokOct 24, 2009 22:32:34 | And how do I see broadcasts? Where, rather, since I'm already part of the group. |
| #64ff6shadowOct 24, 2009 22:58:48 | If you go to your profile, on the right side of the screen, you'll see the message bar, with these options: 0 Unread Messages 0 Unread Broadcasts 0 New Friend Requests 0 Group Invites 0 Comments To Approve 0 Gathering Invitations Broadcats are right below your messages, as shown . Test broacast just went out. |
| #65veokOct 24, 2009 23:02:18 | Aha. Yes. Thank you very much. |
| #66ff6shadowOct 24, 2009 23:14:18 | Domain broadcast is out. |
| #67LordManshoonOct 24, 2009 23:15:26 | EDIT: Got it! Here we are then. God Name: Sorstal Starting Domain: Earth Appearance: An orb of dark gray and blue, surrounded by an opal mist Holy Symbol: A silver triangle with a dark blue teardrop in the center
|
| #68ff6shadowOct 24, 2009 23:24:32 | Domain is claimed |
| #69AnubisDreadOct 24, 2009 23:29:35 | Yay, new player, congratulations |
| #70Lord_VentnorOct 24, 2009 23:52:54 | Crap! I go to dinner, and a domain is created and claimed before I get back. |
| #71ff6shadowOct 25, 2009 0:51:02 | Anubis, you do send it to the admins, and they send the broadcast. |
| #72AnubisDreadOct 25, 2009 0:52:03 | Got it, thanks for the clarification. |
| #73AldiiOct 25, 2009 2:15:39 | Where is this Broadcast you talk about? |
| #74nerdzulOct 25, 2009 7:11:54 | Btw I received no broadcast tonight.... any specific reason? |
| #75xiahouxuOct 25, 2009 7:49:51 | Just posting my interest... I kinda came in too late last game to have too much of an effect on anything, then RL got the better of me. But back and ready to go! |
| #76shadowhntr7Oct 25, 2009 7:59:48 | I'd really like an Air domain, myself. Let's hope. |
| #77veokOct 25, 2009 9:39:36 |
are you part of the LoC group? |
| #78veokOct 25, 2009 9:40:31 |
As ff6shadow answered on the previous page, to me; press the "Home" button in the top left, and look just under "unread messages" |
| #79nerdzulOct 25, 2009 14:38:02 | Thanks mate, however I'm part of the Loc group (since LoC 2) and I know where to find messages but I got none |
| #80mostly_ghostlyOct 25, 2009 14:55:04 | It should actually be under "unread broadcasts". |
| #81XeadinOct 25, 2009 15:23:01 | So we have to PM an admin- not posting it on the OOC thread right? The PM is the ticket to becoming a member? ff6shadow, a PM will be coming your way. I do know that domain creation won't be instant... |
| #82ff6shadowOct 25, 2009 15:27:53 | Xeadin, don't bother. The PM doesn't matter until the availability has been broadcast via the PM. |
| #83XeadinOct 25, 2009 15:29:39 | I see. So membership doesn't matter until someone claims the domain first. Can't wait to see how this works out... as long as that link isn't rigged anymore... that was bad, but my computer works still... |
| #84AradeiaOct 25, 2009 15:31:35 | Xeadin, a broadcast will go out when someone is ready to ascend a god of a certain domain. When you get the broadcast, you will have to send a PM to the admin who sent out the broadcast. |
| #85XeadinOct 25, 2009 15:32:41 | Sweet deal. |
| #86AradeiaOct 25, 2009 15:33:25 | But the catch is only the first person to answer will get the domain. |
| #87XeadinOct 25, 2009 15:39:54 | So it's like a "First come, first serve" deal... high stakes in that system, but it makes sense. |
| #88nerdzulOct 25, 2009 15:47:09 | It should actually be under "unread broadcasts". Thanks mate, however I already knew that.... aradeia sent another test broadcast and I got it but the other (2 post shadow told me) left no trace in my unread broadcast (or red broadcast for what it matters). |
| #89timmy506Oct 25, 2009 17:27:28 | I would like to join! Name:Pakest Domains:i was thinking i could be god of disease, healing, and medicine appearance: a giant star Symbol:a vial of bubbling liquid |
| #90matthewswiftOct 25, 2009 17:52:00 | That last test broadcast gave me a heart attack... |
| #91moondoggyOct 25, 2009 18:01:54 |
Read a bit more of the thread to learn how to get into the game. You probably won't get any of those domains anytime soon though, so don't plan out some great and epic story for your god. Just take the domain you get and play from there. As previously stated, it's first come first serve in this system. |
| #92wizdude47Oct 25, 2009 18:30:03 | Put me on the list plz. Preffered domains include conquest evolution, and slavery. Not picky, though. I'll take about any thing. |
| #93LordManshoonOct 25, 2009 18:34:20 |
Trust me (the lucky newcomer who became the Earth God). This is the way to go. ![]() EDIT: I mean, of course you should aim for your preference. But go with the flow if things don't work out. |
| #94moondoggyOct 25, 2009 23:26:04 | Attention LoC watchers, later today there will be new domains ascended! I'm not at liberty to say which ones, but if you keep an eye out for them you might just snag one for yourself! Good luck aspiring players, and remember that if you don't get one tomorrow there will be plenty of new domains to claim as the game goes on. Cheers! |
| #95TophehOct 25, 2009 23:47:01 | In other news, I'm losing one or two players from my in-world PbP exploring the goings-on beneath the city of Terena, a major metropolis in LoC2. If anyone wants to join in, please PM me for more information... we're not too far in, so you won't have missed much at all. |
| #96arentrelOct 26, 2009 1:34:31 | Well even with such a long waiting list, I will apply to be placed on the list as well. The concept of it is just to good to pass up and should be alot of fun. |
| #97TophehOct 26, 2009 16:51:35 | Spots filled.
Also, I've added a small section to the guidelines page on the wiki on how to post PP expenditures... with the daily PP system, it is harder for us admins to keep track of how many PP you have left, so please use the format specified to help us out and keep us from getting all grouchy, which noone wants :D
|
| #98shadowhntr7Oct 26, 2009 17:40:56 | *jumps on the god bandwagon*
Name: Brinn Domain: Forest Appearance: Currently a globe of earth and green stuff with random jags growing and falling. Symbol: ? |
| #99matthewswiftOct 26, 2009 20:28:49 | Name: Lizt Domain: ChAoS! Appearance: Currently an amorphous divine spark. Symbol: Hand with second and fourth fingers missing, leaving pinky, middle, and thumb. |
| #100TophehOct 27, 2009 4:26:22 | Now I just have to figure out what it is I want to put there, anubis :D |
| #101AnubisDreadOct 27, 2009 4:49:02 | lol! Well take your time I guess, can always fall back on twisted dark drinking vegetation or something |
| #102shadowhntr7Oct 27, 2009 6:07:48 | I'll post IC once I get back from work...woke up late. |
| #103TophehOct 27, 2009 11:45:42 | Indeed I can. Its gonna be something fun... just trying to decide whether its going to be artifact or animal. |
| #104matthewswiftOct 27, 2009 13:49:46 | I forgot how often my network tries to eat posts :_( I'll try again after my next class. |
| #105aboleth11Oct 27, 2009 15:39:55 | I'm in. |
| #106timmy506Oct 27, 2009 16:25:51 | hi it is me timmy506 sry i had to go afk and my bro typed those because earlier he got in trouble because he attacked me once again i am sry |
| #107ekluagOct 27, 2009 16:44:00 | Hello, still watching and waiting, although chances of getting in are slim, die to the fact that I'm not on the computer much. |
| #108angelofthenightOct 27, 2009 17:53:11 | I have the same problem eklag, though I am on slightly more than you. :P |
| #109ff6shadowOct 27, 2009 17:53:43 | Is chat down for anybody else right now? |
| #110MechaliburOct 27, 2009 17:59:20 | Yes |
| #111ff6shadowOct 27, 2009 18:24:05 | Chat is back |
| #112shadowhntr7Oct 27, 2009 18:37:53 | All you gods, come down and pet the Puppy. |
| #113ff6shadowOct 27, 2009 18:42:07 | Just a heads up, I've got a short term goal for my go of ascending all four elements. So, I'd appreciate if nobody ascends Air or Water before me. If somebody else has to for their concept, perhaps we can split the costs, as I'd at least like creation to be involved in ascending the gods covering the four basic building blocks of creation. |
| #114TophehOct 27, 2009 23:20:35 | More domains coming tomorrow. |
| #115AldiiOct 28, 2009 1:51:24 | How charming! |
| #116shadowhntr7Oct 28, 2009 8:48:18 | Any bets on how long they'll last? I'm going for 2 minutes. |
| #117veokOct 28, 2009 10:06:25 |
The four? You're well on your way to completing the Chinese elements! (Earth, Water, Wood, Metal, Fire) |
| #118ff6shadowOct 28, 2009 11:25:54 | Good point . . . |
| #119veokOct 28, 2009 12:49:13 | I wish broadcasts had timestamps... I think I'll go suggest that now. |
| #120veokOct 28, 2009 13:05:19 | Name: Hrinori [hrih-NOR-ee] |
| #121LordManshoonOct 28, 2009 15:24:28 | So Sorstal has a sister, eh? Intriguing. |
| #122veokOct 28, 2009 16:08:55 | Heh. Nabbed water by 3 minutes, and I see Light within 30 seconds of it being posted. Right place at the right time I guess... |
| #123AldiiOct 28, 2009 16:42:09 | Name: Maibe Domain: Light Appearance: A white, winged serpent with a thick mane of pitch-black hair growing out of her thick Draconic skull. Maibe looks more or less like a more serpentile dragon with a long body and small, crooked legs. Her eyes glow constantly with the power of two suns. Symbol: A lone, closed eye painted in black surrounded by a white star. |
| #124ekluagOct 28, 2009 17:03:28 | Ok, I will be jumping at every broadcast without checking to see if it has already been taken. Sorry, shadow. Gah, heart attack there. |
| #125ff6shadowOct 28, 2009 17:07:43 | Not a problem .I expext it . . they really should add time stamps to broadcasts |
| #126LordManshoonOct 28, 2009 17:15:23 | Hmmm... I was responding to Veok in the IC thread, yet Aldii seems to have responded instead. Curses, why did they both have to be serpentine? What to do about this mix-up? |
| #127ekluagOct 28, 2009 17:27:45 | Talk to both at the same time. The question seems to be aplicable to both. |
| #128veokOct 28, 2009 17:27:46 | Obviously, Sorstal will soon be compelled to continue the serpent motif.
|
| #129ekluagOct 28, 2009 17:28:40 | A snake pantheon!!! |
| #130veokOct 28, 2009 17:30:51 |
Perhaps only the elemental gods. :P Also, how do I get the Mibbit chat to work? |
| #131LordManshoonOct 28, 2009 17:36:57 | Problem solved. Just juggled a couple words around. It's open for either to reply. |
| #132ff6shadowOct 28, 2009 17:53:48 | Veok, you were created by Lohak, not Grawlf. |
| #133moondoggyOct 28, 2009 17:54:57 | And Veok, to get into the chat it's here. Just type in "#loc" for the room name. |
| #134shadowhntr7Oct 28, 2009 21:06:20 | Man, you guys have been really busy while I was at work. o_O And I think Hrinori and Brinn are gonna be best buddies. |
| #135ff6shadowOct 29, 2009 12:39:13 | For anyone who had trouble with it earlier, Chat seems to be back on line now. |
| #136AradeiaOct 29, 2009 19:36:08 | Just for clarity's sake, I would like to ask that everyone just list their PP total along with their expenditures. I know a lot of people are already doing this, but I just thought I'd make it sort of the general rule. It would make everyones' life that much easier. |
| #137LordManshoonOct 30, 2009 0:06:22 | Should we list remaining PP even if we don't make an expenditure in a post? Because I haven't done too much since creating Agon, and I haven't been posting my PP in those roleplaying-only posts. But it's no problem; I'll start including it even when I'm not actively using it. |
| #138AnubisDreadOct 30, 2009 0:10:16 | Personally I just include a running tally on the first post of the day to note that I got another PP, then only reference it when I spend it, but that's just me. I'm not 100% what the official stance is on it. |
| #139matthewswiftOct 30, 2009 1:21:04 | Should there be a wiki "scanner" page? Show all the gods' power levels, gets added to by one person daily, then players can take what they want. Allow for negative ones, in case a player posts before the bank pays up? |
| #140AnubisDreadOct 30, 2009 1:31:34 | I'm not sure about a 'scanner' page, I mean I for one have no idea how strong the gods are in comparison to each other at the moment. And spawning a superior creature costs 2PP, not 1... which is unfortunate, because the slime planet is an awesome concept I must say. |
| #141shadowhntr7Oct 30, 2009 10:24:06 | You guys are all jerks, ditching Brinn.
|
| #142TophehOct 30, 2009 10:53:20 | I haven't gone anywhere! And as far as I can tell, Sonel and Sorsten are still hanging about as well. Those other folks are jerks, though... you're right :D |
| #143shadowhntr7Oct 30, 2009 11:01:08 | Nope, Sonel left me alone at the end of his post and went to the other gods. Poor Brinn, lonely.....and she's both Forest AND Harmony, for crying out loud! You guys are working together with out the most together person! |
| #144TophehOct 30, 2009 11:54:09 | Oh... thats a problem. I thought you were there with us. |
| #145shadowhntr7Oct 30, 2009 12:13:02 | From Doggy's post: Then the god turned to Brinn, his daughter and patron of the forest. "My child, my friend. I need you to remain here for a time and take care of these lands. Create something wonderful, something with beauty that is worthy of you. I promise I'll come back soon. The new planet will need forests too, someday. Be a good girl while I'm gone." The god then flew up to where the gods had gathered, floating next to Grawlf. "Okay, I am ready whenever you are."
Apparently not. |
| #146TophehOct 30, 2009 13:10:11 | Oh, I see where the confusion came from. Sonel was talking to us, then floated down to you, then back up, and I imagined that you were 'below' as in 'several feet down' as opposed to 'on the surface' down. Lets get you back up with the rest of us. |
| #147LordManshoonOct 30, 2009 13:54:30 | Perhaps Brinn can make use of the newly created, Mt. Sonnarian. And Topheh, for future reference, it's Sorstal, not Sorsten. |
| #148shadowhntr7Oct 30, 2009 14:06:43 | I'm sure she will.
|
| #149ff6shadowOct 30, 2009 15:37:10 | Lord Manshoon, your last PP expenditure is invalid. During the first age, Mold Land (Lesser) is a 4 PP action. Flavor it as you will, but I see it as the gods simply do not have enough experience and fineses with their powers to comkpl;ete such lesser actions so easily. |
| #150LordManshoonOct 30, 2009 17:22:41 | Actually, now you that you bring that to my attention, while I did make a mistake, the action still seems valid. I didn't take into consideration the +1 PP for a new day, which brought my PP up to 4, so altogether that brings me to 0. So I did have the PP needed for such an action, even if I'm spent at the moment from doing so. |
| #151ff6shadowOct 30, 2009 17:58:40 | It was invalid as a 1 PP action. As long as you are willing to spend the full 4, thats fine. |
| #152shadowhntr7Oct 30, 2009 20:51:18 | Actually, wouldn't it be a medium-level use? The 2 PP normally? It says a mountain range, though, so maybe it's a matter of scale. That'd just cost you 3 PP, though, right? |
| #153veokOct 30, 2009 20:54:52 | And now we wait for group 2 to find Lohak. |
| #154ff6shadowOct 30, 2009 21:01:08 | It's Lohak. And it would be 3, if he had created a range, but he only create a single mountain, |
| #155LordManshoonOct 30, 2009 21:41:23 |
All I need is Sonel's input. I'm ready to go, but I don't want to drag Sonel along myself to advance things. |
| #156shadowhntr7Oct 30, 2009 21:46:22 | Die, demon, die!
Or non-exist. Whatever. |
| #157veokOct 30, 2009 21:53:55 |
Oh sure, blame the typo |
| #158shadowhntr7Oct 31, 2009 5:18:52 | Typos are a serious matter. |
| #159TophehNov 01, 2009 1:24:39 | A note: The stars I made are in actuality the game history page on the wiki. Anubis and Doggy, this means that anything you change in the stars will reflect in the storyline as well. At the moment, anubis, I am doing as you wrote and ignoring your birth, your creation of the shadowfell and calling you the 'void' when I have to. I'm also creating a subpage for the constellations and one denoting exactly what is being removed. If both of you could keep me abrest of any other changes you are planning on making to the 'official' storyline of the Lightvoid, let me know and I'll be sure to incorporate that. |
| #160Lord_VentnorNov 01, 2009 2:15:11 | So... any new domains gonna come up soon? |
| #161TophehNov 01, 2009 3:47:09 | wouldn't you like to know!
(yes, more coming soon) |
| #162LordManshoonNov 01, 2009 16:28:33 | There seems to be some confusion. Sorstal is currently speaking with Lohak, as of page 11; neither myself nor ff6shadow has since made a further post (at this time). Sorstal's already filled him in on the basics of Grawlf's plan, and is waiting for his reply. Yet the actions of Grawlf and Sonel seem to suggest they are unaware that Sorstal's taken word to Lohak. I'm aware that Grawlf and the Sisters have more they want to discuss with Lohak. I'd just like to point out where the two of us are, because it seems to me like people believe we're in two places at once. |
| #163jailbreakerNov 01, 2009 16:40:50 | I'd like to be a minor-ish deity. Or Major, if I can get the Law domain. I'd like Stability, Truth, Honor, and/or Oaths as my domain(s). [Edit: Especially stability.] [Edit: I think I don't post this (the form) yet, actually.] |
| #164moondoggyNov 01, 2009 16:58:37 | Ah. You're right. I got it a little confused. Will edit accordionly. |
| #165jailbreakerNov 01, 2009 17:38:30 | Could someone post about the World in the wiki? I'm having a hard time reading through 9 pages of story. Well, maybe I'm just lazy. Although, since I have little else to do, I should go keep reading now. |
| #166TophehNov 01, 2009 17:42:55 | Its not in finished form yet (big... and unexpected! deadline coming up tonight... but take a look at the game history page... its got a summary of the first week's worth of activities, and will be updated hopefully weekly. And if you think 9 pages is bad... when I joined last instance, I read through 97 pages :D
Also, I am aware that Sorstal is with Lohak *nods* |
| #167nerdzulNov 01, 2009 19:59:18 | Yey finally in as air, but I'll post my god tomorrow after a night of rest (and a day of work /cry). see you tomorrow and have fun ;) |
| #168chapienNov 01, 2009 20:48:29 | Name: Sku'byss Domain: Corruption Physical Appearance: In his preferred and original form, Sku'byss appears as a child with purplish skin that shifts between shades of purple. He has yellow, luminous eyes, and his mouth has viscous looking fangs. Symbol: ???
I got a domain :D |
| #169veokNov 01, 2009 21:54:50 | Three Gods in one night. Wowza. |
| #170arentrelNov 01, 2009 22:02:16 | Name: Kouru
|
| #171Lord_VentnorNov 01, 2009 22:11:03 |
You must have really good PM-fu. I PMed Topheh about 2 minutes after he opened the domain, and I still didn't get it... |
| #172TophehNov 01, 2009 22:11:20 | As a note for those of you who were despairing that you'd ever get a domain...
The PM rushes we'd been getting are slowing down... corruption and truth both only got two PMs each as opposed to the... I think... 11 in 5 minutes(?) I got for secrets. Look for more domains coming up soon... although we'll need a day to get us some more PP |
| #173LordManshoonNov 01, 2009 22:23:02 | Congrats to the newcomers! Sorstal is both watching and waiting for the new Potential to be realized. |
| #174veokNov 01, 2009 22:57:18 | People need to help Hrinori finish the two planes! (2/8 PP spent) |
| #175nerdzulNov 02, 2009 13:05:38 | Name: Eshcal Domain: Air Appearance: in the fury of the storm, the caress of the breeze or the aerie stillness in the hart of cyclone, there is Eshcal, the god natural form is invisible, perceivable just as a sensation. Should he need to manifest in a visible way he assume the shape of serpentine dragon with for feathered wings or of a finely dressed humanoid with "weird colored eyes" and occasionally two pair of wings. Symbol: No fixed symbol for now (as there is no living beignt that can assing meaning to a symbol), in theory it will be a feathered serpent or just a stilized lightning. |
| #176veokNov 02, 2009 14:23:22 | Yes! More serpentine elemental gods! Woo! (Now we just need to ride LordManshoon's back :P ) |
| #177nerdzulNov 02, 2009 14:32:37 | hehe I'm still not sure about the form (hehe snake form is inflactioned at the moment so I think I'll keep the cuatl like form as a placeholder for now). |
| #178MechaliburNov 02, 2009 15:49:41 | But... Zo-Att just became a coatl... Honestly I was the first to come up with the idea, but now I don't want her to be serpentish since everyone else is doing it |
| #179nerdzulNov 02, 2009 15:56:20 | So I'll go for another (yet to define) form ;) I'll steal on some other mytological symbol for Eshcal :p |
| #180AldiiNov 02, 2009 16:00:15 | I came up with the serpent-idea two months ago. |
| #181nerdzulNov 02, 2009 16:01:38 | humanoid looked a little to early for me too anyway hehe... another alternative might be a chinese dragon (but it still "serpentine" after all...) |
| #182MechaliburNov 02, 2009 16:37:19 |
4 months ago here Although I'm not changing, so I guess that works fine. |
| #183veokNov 02, 2009 17:07:21 | But I was the first one to post *about* a serpent goddess. Besides, Hrinori exists in my own, homebrew universe, which has existed for ~3 years. I think I have you all beat |
| #184nerdzulNov 02, 2009 17:15:54 | what about this (from DnD old demon lords pazuzus, thx doggy for the suggesion hehe) |
| #185chapienNov 02, 2009 20:21:10 | @ArenTrel: You know I followed you, right? |
| #186arentrelNov 02, 2009 20:24:05 | Thats fine.. |
| #187shadowhntr7Nov 02, 2009 20:26:37 | Whoever gets the Life domain tommorow had better be an active member and willing to help Brinn. |
| #188veokNov 02, 2009 21:14:18 | You could come up and help forest Lor'quhan in the meantime! |
| #189TophehNov 02, 2009 21:17:13 | Ventnor, you were literally seconds too late. |
| #190Lord_VentnorNov 02, 2009 21:54:46 |
For what? |
| #191TophehNov 02, 2009 23:18:39 | The Domain... your posting-fu was just... slightly lacking. |
| #192Lord_VentnorNov 02, 2009 23:47:42 | I suppose I'll have to step up my post-fu, then. |
| #193shadowhntr7Nov 03, 2009 5:34:00 |
I'd love to, if my forest wasn't getting destroyed every two seconds. Bleeping destruction and corruption gods. And....did Aldii seriously just get to pay 3 PP to do 3 mold(superior)s? Oh, and Ventnor-he's talking about the Truth domain, not the Life, if that's what you were thinking. |
| #194nerdzulNov 03, 2009 7:05:02 |
Btw I'd be willing to help (as soon as I manage to discover your existance hehe :p) maybe a shield of air (its time that the worlds gain an atmosphere hehe) |
| #195ff6shadowNov 03, 2009 12:21:47 | Life broadcast out |
| #196Lord_VentnorNov 03, 2009 13:21:24 | At last! My time to shine! Name: Khitis |
| #197nerdzulNov 03, 2009 13:24:38 | congrats for the domain ;) |
| #198wizdude47Nov 03, 2009 14:17:58 | Dang it! Stupid school sysrem interfered with my plans of getting a domain again! Oh well. Congratulations. |
| #199LordManshoonNov 03, 2009 15:53:29 |
Good things come to those who wait, eh, Ventnor? ![]() |
| #200shadowhntr7Nov 03, 2009 16:37:51 | Be sure to come join us in the Mibbit channel, Vent, that's where we get a lot of work done. |
| #201ff6shadowNov 03, 2009 19:45:37 | Veok, your Mold Lesser action in post 330 is invalid, as Mold Lesser costs 4 PP during the first age. Lord Ventor, your 2 PP Spawn Moerate in POst 333 is invalid. Spawn Moderate is 3 PP in the first age |
| #202ff6shadowNov 03, 2009 21:02:40 | Veok, did you notice my message to Hrinori in my last post? Just checking. If you've time for the chat, I'd be happy to discuss my plan. |
| #203veokNov 03, 2009 21:11:14 | I have a nasty habit of starting a post, getting sidetracked, and then finishing it some time later. You posted in between those two times :P. |
| #204ff6shadowNov 03, 2009 21:31:11 | No problem. Stuff happens. I saw your out of PP, so if you'd like to wait until after midnight EST (hour and a half), youcan delay until then. |
| #205veokNov 03, 2009 21:32:33 |
Heheh... yup. |
| #206ff6shadowNov 03, 2009 21:34:00 | Lord_Ventor, saw you leap in and out . . plentyof us on the chat . . just give a few moments for responses before leaving. When you first enter the room, it auto-labels everyone as idling until the post. Seven of us there right now, actually. |
| #207Lord_VentnorNov 03, 2009 21:37:52 |
I wasn't aware. I modified the post to add one more PP expended. |
| #208LordManshoonNov 03, 2009 23:17:35 |
I missed that Spawn. Gonna go check it out. |
| #209nerdzulNov 04, 2009 4:52:30 | Btw later I'd like to ascend a god of dreams is it ok? (and is anyone interested?) |
| #210shadowhntr7Nov 04, 2009 6:14:13 | I'm not, I've got enough to do. |
| #211LordManshoonNov 04, 2009 7:34:15 |
Air + Earth = Dreams? I don't see what we can draw as inspiration, but I'll help if I can. |
| #212veokNov 04, 2009 7:51:10 | Hey now, Aldii -- two things a) that bit was in secret tags for a reason b) the stones hadn't traveled that far yet. (I explictly mentioned their slowness)
|
| #213MassiveAttackNov 04, 2009 7:59:27 | It would have been unlikely I would have claimed them anyways, but I haven't gotten any broadcasts on domains since Light. |
| #214shadowhntr7Nov 04, 2009 8:04:57 | Yeah, there have been reports by a lot of people about not getting the broadcasts. I've gotten them all, myself, which figures since I already have a domain. Ff6shadow and Doggy were discussing what to do about that, I believe. |
| #215nerdzulNov 04, 2009 8:13:28 | Yes massive, there is some issue with the broadcast, after air I got no other trasmission too (and I missed a couple in between) for this reason shadow is posting the domains in the OOC thread too (he has done that starting with life after he was reported that issue by many players) hehe I was thinking about dreams as it look like something as aethereal as air hehe so I guess it will be hard to make with support of material things (earth and stone for example) hehe... Anyway I think I'll ascend the new god alone (drawing from Eshcal own dreams). Anyone interested in taking that domain? |
| #216shadowhntr7Nov 04, 2009 8:17:26 | I can think of at least three who would, Nerdzul. Also, you should come to the forest and talk to Ankirega. |
| #217nerdzulNov 04, 2009 8:38:09 | Later when I'm back home I'll do both things (wake up and ascend the dream god) and than talk to the forest keeper. |
| #218shadowhntr7Nov 04, 2009 8:41:40 | Which one? There's three and a half: Brinn, Ankirega, Cragnas, and Agon. |
| #219nerdzulNov 04, 2009 8:56:52 | whoever finds out that I'm there :p |
| #220shadowhntr7Nov 04, 2009 8:59:18 | You'll have to show up first. |
| #221nerdzulNov 04, 2009 10:53:14 | well hehe I have shrouded the world with the atmosphere I bet that one day or another someone would notice :p |
| #222AldiiNov 04, 2009 11:08:51 |
I am sorry about that, I just thought they were a little faster and that Maibe probably would have noticed them sooner or later and therefore would eliminate them and I didn´t see any real point of why I would wait with that.. It´s just that Maibe´s world has some things to do before it gets destroyed. |
| #223AldiiNov 04, 2009 11:13:20 |
I wouldn´t mind trying. I can see Maibe as a mother of a god of dreams. |
| #224arentrelNov 04, 2009 11:49:46 | Just to toss in my two cents. The Dream Domain might not come about so early considering other then a god now and then, nothing is asleep. Unless I am mistaken and you aren't talking about the sleep related Dreams but more of Dreams as in things you wish to accomplish. |
| #225nerdzulNov 04, 2009 12:29:42 | It can be both it will be extremely limited otherwise :p |
| #226Lord_VentnorNov 04, 2009 13:06:24 |
I'm wounded that you would forget Khitis as well.
:p |
| #227veokNov 04, 2009 13:11:29 |
You're making some assumptions on what effect the rocks would have :P. Besides, Maibe doesn't even know about Lor'quhan, or that it's covered in poison, rock, and ice -- she left the gathering before those things happened. The rocks will not destroy Maibe's world. |
| #228AldiiNov 04, 2009 13:37:55 | Nontheless she still has the power to recognice big, rocky things that are able to hurt her realm when they are passing by right in front one of her own creations. The Sun. |
| #229nerdzulNov 04, 2009 15:24:56 |
Oki so I'll pay a visit to Maibe as soon as I have finished on the forest world ;) |
| #230ekluagNov 04, 2009 15:51:47 | Sounds like something I'd do. Anything on timing? Especially as I seem to be asleep when most everybody else is on. |
| #231veokNov 04, 2009 17:15:30 | Can't tell the truth to lie? What about telling part (but not all of the truth). Lieing by omission? :P |
| #232AnubisDreadNov 04, 2009 17:17:23 | That's more a secret than a lie.. though admittedly still benefits the Silent One. He's too arrogant and sore at having an opposite introduced where before he had free reign to admit it though. |
| #233ekluagNov 04, 2009 19:06:27 | To something that I never answered on the chat: I am usually available on a computer between 2:30 ET and 6ish ET on weekdays and rather unpredictable hours on weekends. |
| #234veokNov 05, 2009 18:57:29 | I can has less incestuous romance novel please? :3 |
| #235shadowhntr7Nov 05, 2009 19:21:35 | Oh, hush, it's important character development. IMPORTANT NOTICE: I am currently in the process of creating the PP Expenditures page on the Wiki. This means that I will need to have every use of PP recorded. Firstly, if anyone finds a use that I did not cover (which is certainly possible), please either record it in the Wiki without telling me it needs done, or let me know without changing it yourself. Doubling the information would not be a good thing. Furthermore, if anyone would like to keep responsibility for updating their own character's usages on that page, please let me know and I'll leave you to it- otherwise, I'll plan on updating everyone's myself.
|
| #236veokNov 05, 2009 21:10:27 | Are people still watching this, waiting for new domains to open? |
| #237shadowhntr7Nov 05, 2009 21:12:35 | I know of at least three who are: Ekluag, Xeadin, and Wizdude. |
| #238TophehNov 06, 2009 13:40:21 | Well, some of them can be happy, for the Dream domain is now available for the first taker. PM me to claim it. |
| #239ekluagNov 06, 2009 14:28:20 | Is Dream domain up yet? |
| #240shadowhntr7Nov 06, 2009 14:32:03 | Apparently so- PM Toph. |
| #241ekluagNov 06, 2009 14:36:27 | I spent a long time responding, so he posted it while I was in the response screen. Oh well, up for the lottery. |
| #242ff6shadowNov 06, 2009 18:04:48 | I've noticed something. I believe Superior Spawn is being misused by some players. Superior Spawn is level 31+ creatures, very limited in numbers, each one able to fight on even footing with a god. I noticed one today that made me think top bring it up. I don't beleive it's the first, but it definitly caught my attention. Are Nerdzul's Sun Falcons really a Superior Spawn? Is each and every one able to fight even with a god for a short time? |
| #243LordManshoonNov 06, 2009 18:32:54 |
As a newbie, I was under the impression that SS only brings one creature into existence. Hence why Agon is unique. I know I'm not really guilty of this misuse, but it sounds pretty out-of-whack if even a few SS-level creatures can be brought into play in one go. |
| #244ff6shadowNov 06, 2009 19:46:41 | It's not set to exactly 1, but in general, it's best to keep it that way. My personal guidline is that level 31-32 is no more than 5, 33-35 is two to three, and 36 and above is unique. |
| #245ekluagNov 07, 2009 5:14:20 | Name: Shry Domain: Dream Form: A wisp, insubstantial Symbol: No symbol as of yet. |
| #246shadowhntr7Nov 07, 2009 5:35:13 | Hey Ventnor, Khitis does realize that Brinn fell unconcious as soon as she got out of Sonel's soul, right? It's not like she was trying to ignore him. |
| #247nerdzulNov 07, 2009 5:59:54 |
Welcome ekluag ;) |
| #248Lord_VentnorNov 07, 2009 16:26:16 |
He doesn't realize that, though. Even if that wasn't her intent, she still left without explaining what was going on to Khitis, and that kind of hurt his feelings. |
| #249shadowhntr7Nov 07, 2009 18:32:11 | You could ask Puppy.
|
| #250veokNov 08, 2009 10:40:25 | Just a heads up, Toph? You went back and forth from eight spires, to six towers, to eight pillars, to... I love synonyms as much as the next guy or gal, but now I'm confused -- are there three separate objects, two of 8 and one of 6? Or were they all the same, originally being six and you missed the one in the revision? |
| #251TophehNov 08, 2009 20:01:49 | Hmm... indeed. Let me double check that. Should be 8 of everything. Thanks for noticing... I went back and forth too many times, I guess! |
| #252shadowhntr7Nov 08, 2009 20:11:59 | Maybe they should be both eight and six...and neither. |
| #253TophehNov 08, 2009 22:23:28 | Shush, you! Important Announcement: Every so often, the admins will award a player who has done something for the game (good RP, good wiki upkeep, etc, etc) with a PP reward as thanks for making the game truly great. We would like to announce that the first such award has been given to shadowhntr! We'd like to thank him for all the hard work he has done with keeping the wiki updated to such an amazingly comprehensive degree. Enjoy, Hunter! You have an extra PP. |
| #254shadowhntr7Nov 09, 2009 6:21:57 | Whoo, thanks! I'd like to thank all the little people I've stepped on in my life, and....um....thanks! |
| #255LordManshoonNov 09, 2009 10:26:50 | I went to make a page about the demiplane I created, Kurshek, and I goofed. Can one of the admins delete the page I made? Because I couldn't figure out how to. |
| #256angelofthenightNov 10, 2009 16:30:04 | Is anyone intending to ascend any more domains? We do have still have players waiting after all. |
| #257nerdzulNov 10, 2009 16:53:27 | Lets see what happens with water (if shadow reply to me) anyway maybe I can make a new ascension if I can find someone interested to help hehe :p |
| #258veokNov 10, 2009 17:03:02 | Hey now -- why are YOU making plans for water? I"M the one making plans for water. :D |
| #259LordManshoonNov 10, 2009 17:05:10 |
You said you suspended it. Lohak nabbed it, didn't he? Unless you discussed something with ff6shadow ahead of time, I'd say anyone's plans are on the table. But that's just how the situation appears to me, the spectator in this scenario. *goes and shifts around the mountains of his new demiplane* |
| #260ff6shadowNov 10, 2009 17:09:00 | Water was supressed. He still has it, its just not active for Hrinori . . Lohak also has water now. . . another note, Water cannot be ascended. A domain can be claimed by as many as would like it, but can only be ascended one time. |
| #261veokNov 10, 2009 17:09:32 | I actively discussed this with shadow, and in fact, the version in the thread is the 3rd-ish revision. The end result was the creation of new terminology: suppress domain. Think what Demeter does in Persephone's absence for an idea of what we were going for (if you're familiar with greek mythology anyway). |
| #262shadowhntr7Nov 10, 2009 17:12:21 |
Moondoggy and I plan to ascend a Moon god pretty soon. I know someone else had mentioned having designs on Moon as well..
|
| #263LordManshoonNov 10, 2009 17:15:18 |
Ah. Say no more. Just curious as to what exactly had transpired. ![]() |
| #264ff6shadowNov 10, 2009 19:54:44 | Broadcast is out. |
| #265angelofthenightNov 10, 2009 20:25:55 | Can I have balance? |
| #266ff6shadowNov 10, 2009 21:20:25 | Broadcast out. |
| #267LordManshoonNov 10, 2009 22:48:26 | Two domains up, but it doesn't seem like there's been the usual swarm. Slow night? |
| #268ff6shadowNov 10, 2009 22:51:02 | Seems like both people who got them vanished right before their confirmation |
| #269darklotusbornNov 10, 2009 23:31:43 | God Name: Avalokama Starting Domain: Balance Appearance: (for now) What seems to be a floating orb, "made" from a crystalline substance, with colors shifting from black to white. In the orbs center rests a Pentagram, made up of all the colors of the prism, and some never seen by mortal eyes. Holy Symbol: A five pointed star representing the balance of the elements. |
| #270veokNov 11, 2009 8:25:42 | Please go back to the General Jelly Jiggler avatar. I couldn't stop laughing. If I could find the season 1 intro movie, here is where I'd post a link to it. :P |
| #271AradeiaNov 11, 2009 16:18:18 | I sent out a broadcast regarding the Madness domain yesterday, and still no one has answered me, so I'm guessing something went wrong with the broadcast again. In any case, I'm posting here to say the Madness domain is open, and if you want to claim it, please send me a PM. Thank you kindly. |
| #272ff6shadowNov 11, 2009 16:33:11 | No Aradeia . . .your b roadcast was flawed so I resent it and hyandled it . . you forgot to mention who to PM :P |
| #273AradeiaNov 11, 2009 16:39:36 | Ah, I thought it said who sent the broadcast. I assumed people would send it to whoever sent the broadcast. I was wrong I suppose. |
| #274shadowhntr7Nov 11, 2009 16:50:13 | Nah, that would make sense. ![]() |
| #275LordManshoonNov 11, 2009 17:01:42 | I got the Madness broadcast three times. I understand the second one was a correction made to the first, but why I got that same one later on, I have no idea. |
| #276angelofthenightNov 11, 2009 19:15:41 | Name: Nennave, The Sobbing Prophet Pronunciation: nen-nah-vay Domain: Madness Form: A male human torso carved from iron with a jackal's head. Massive, leathery wings remain constantly protruding from his back, half folded. Rivulets of flaming drool slide from his massive, iron jaws. Where eyes would be, rough pits exist, slowly seeping a thick, noxious fluid. Symbol: A jackal's head with human eyes sown into it's eye sockets on a field of white. So, am I allowed to post now? |
| #277TophehNov 11, 2009 22:03:27 | yes... and yipes! |
| #278veokNov 11, 2009 22:08:09 | I really need to memorize the PP expenditure chart. |
| #279shadowhntr7Nov 12, 2009 13:40:47 | Hey Aldii, remember that ascending a god costs 2 PP- you didn't mark anything yet. |
| #280TophehNov 12, 2009 13:55:33 | Well, Aldii has the PP for it, so I'm going to count it as a legitimate action and send out the broadcast... now. PM me for the domain. |
| #281aboleth11Nov 12, 2009 14:06:27 | Name: Ymalos (ee-MAL-os) Domains: Moon of Yrie Appearace: A floating orb of bright, white light. Symbol: None so far |
| #282veokNov 12, 2009 14:07:42 | well that was pretty quick, comparatively. |
| #283TophehNov 12, 2009 14:09:39 | Actually, Aboleth, you are not the god of Moon, you are the god of the Moon of Yrie... far narrower in scope. |
| #284shadowhntr7Nov 12, 2009 14:16:34 | Aboleth was in chat begging for it, lol. |
| #285ff6shadowNov 12, 2009 15:21:00 | Yes, Aboleth, your domain is "Moon of Yrie" a lesser domain, not "Moon" a moderate domain |
| #286ff6shadowNov 12, 2009 16:06:16 | AngeloftheNight Both of your actions are improperly costed. Because of the current age, Mold Land (Lesser) is 4 PP and Mold Land (Greater) is 2 PP. AnubisDread Please specify the type of action you are using. In your case, it is Create Artifact (Modify) Ekluag Please seperate your Modify actions into two seperate lines, so we now which creature is whioch type. |
| #287veokNov 12, 2009 18:53:48 | Wait a minute... I think I just turned myself into Tony Stark. ... Drattit. |
| #288ff6shadowNov 12, 2009 21:46:37 | Aboleth11, ae your Lunar Striders really Superior? Do they exist in insignificant numbers, an are able to fight gods? If not, please edit your post to make them a Greater Spawn (same price). |
| #289ff6shadowNov 12, 2009 23:05:11 | ArenTrel, I'm going to note that you are acting far to omniscient in your last post. LoC gods do not know everything. Please restrain your knowledge to things in your immediate personal vicinity. For example, I know that Grawlf and Lohak headed off to an area not near any other gods. And if you are with Hrinori, you definitly aren't in the Shadowfell with the Silent One to haveany idea what he is doing. |
| #290shadowhntr7Nov 13, 2009 7:41:44 | After spending another 40 minutes adding last night's changes to Wiki, I'd like to repeat my request to fill out any pages related to your god that you can give information on. For instance, Hrinori's page has no description, personality, or background, despite her having been around for a long time. |
| #291jailbreakerNov 13, 2009 15:02:43 | This past week has realized how little I would be able to keep up with this game. Please remove me from the waiting list. I'll come back when I have less work to do, though! |
| #292angelofthenightNov 13, 2009 17:32:24 | Sorry shadow, I'll fix the expenditures. |
| #293shadowhntr7Nov 13, 2009 20:49:44 | Nerdzul, you're currently alone at the Isles. |
| #294ff6shadowNov 13, 2009 22:48:49 | Angel, how can you justify your god knowing anything the creatures we seek to create? YOu weren't with anybody who discussed it, or even nearby at the time, to my knowledge. |
| #295shadowhntr7Nov 14, 2009 5:01:56 | And Toph as well, I'm not remembering that anyone told him that I healed Sonel, lol. |
| #296nerdzulNov 14, 2009 5:31:42 | Nerdzul, you're currently alone at the Isles. hehe I had that impression :p well I'll make something at the islands and than move away :p |
| #297TophehNov 14, 2009 6:53:33 | Ah, Yes, there would be that confusion. I should clarify IC that I meant the time when Zo-Att's poison was trying to rip his godly essence to shreds, not the later healing efforts that led to... other things... You are right that Grawlf would not know about THAT one. |
| #298shadowhntr7Nov 14, 2009 14:14:16 | Toph needs to get in chat, so I can talk to him. Hint hint. ![]() |
| #299ff6shadowNov 14, 2009 21:47:34 | Lord Manshoon Nature is a moderate domain (Greater - Life, Moderate - Nature, Lesser - Forests, for example) Aboleth11 You'll need to spend 1 PP for each thing you change ti white . . 1 for the moon itself, 1 for the lunar striders, ands 1 for the plant life (if any). Aldii It is Spawn Greater, not SHape Greater. Further, Spawns do not act as enforcers for gods. . . . they have a single task set to them (for example, Cragnas proetects the balance of nature, and the dragon hunter and I created keep powerful creatures out of my new world). Fair warining ahead of time, you'll need to be clear with the admins now what those lion spirits purpose is. Shadowhunter Plase retract your actions regarding Lohak and the Void. I don't wish to have it removed in that manner. |
| #300ff6shadowNov 15, 2009 0:42:36 | Veok There is no 'Create Artifact (Superior)' action. Your last expenditure is invalid |
| #301shadowhntr7Nov 15, 2009 7:40:12 | .....you have got to be kidding me. I'm going to have to talk to ya, then. Brinn had to do something, and since you weren't around, I couldn't talk to you. Also, the PP Expenditures page has been cleaned up somewhat. |
| #302veokNov 15, 2009 9:41:18 | Veok Fixed.... but why not? Everything else has a superior action... >.> |
| #303LordManshoonNov 15, 2009 11:20:09 | Lord Manshoon Strange. The wiki lists it under Greater. I'll change my post, though. |
| #304aboleth11Nov 15, 2009 13:56:15 |
The moon is already white but I will change the striders. |
| #305TophehNov 15, 2009 16:03:14 | Hi All. Age 2 is coming up in less than a week now, so we are beginning to set the IC gears in motion for describing why the changes that are going to occur (Spawn and Mold actions return to normal, populaces become available) will occur. Expect Grawlf to show up sometime in the coming week about the populaces issue, and for now, if you could mention the fact that time seems to be a little out of whack (some simple tasks seem to take a lot longer than expected, some hard tasks seem to take no time at all, but not in a consistent fashion), that'd be lovely. ~Toph |
| #306ff6shadowNov 15, 2009 20:08:53 | DOmain BVroadcast out for Fire |
| #307AradeiaNov 15, 2009 20:36:45 | Wow, I didn't think I'd be back in this soon. Well, here goes. Name: Bel Domain: Fire Appearance: Right now she takes the form of a roiling mass of chaotic flames that course ever onwards. Beasts composed of fire leap out of the flames at random. Symbol: None yet. |
| #308tinweNov 15, 2009 20:49:48 | Wow, I didn't think I'd be back in this soon. Well, here goes. That makes me sad. I seriously PM'd when the broadcast was 4 minutes old. WTB god. |
| #309nerdzulNov 16, 2009 12:27:50 | hehe I have lost my first domain by 4 minutes too, and the second by less than 1 min I can understand you :p Anyway I think that me and aldii are going to ascend a new domain this week (not 100% sure but still...) |
| #310XeadinNov 16, 2009 13:40:49 | I never got that broadcast... |
| #311shadowhntr7Nov 16, 2009 14:19:15 | Since Doggy is away for an indefinate amount of time for undefined reasons, I'm probably going to ascend my own god without him, when I decide what it is. |
| #312nerdzulNov 16, 2009 16:26:28 | I have made a page to track the movement of the gods (due to the little confusion about that recently), it is still work in progress and any help is welcome expecially editing it with your current location. here is the link anyway: loclightvoid.wikia.com/wiki/Path_of_the_... |
| #313shadowhntr7Nov 16, 2009 18:31:42 | That'll certainly be a useful page...and despite my protests, I'm going to find myself obsessively updating it anyway. Thanks a lot, Nerdzul. >_> |
| #314ff6shadowNov 17, 2009 0:04:54 | Veok, I was unaware that artifact still existed until you mentioned it again. A greater artifact is not powerful enough to provide conveyance between all the worlds over such distances. Greater Artfacts produce PP and are generally continent to world sized effects, but they do not have the radius of effect needed to do what you are trying to do with it. At best, you might be able to connect 3 worlds in that fashion with a greater artifact, adding more at the cost of additional PP. |
| #315AnubisDreadNov 17, 2009 0:09:07 | To be fair, she DID originally make it a Superior Artifact, but was told that superior artifacts didn't exist. So if a greater can't handle it, and there's no superior artifacts to cover the situation, what would it be? |
| #316TophehNov 17, 2009 1:00:10 | Actually, if it moves in the direction you're moving it, Anubis, I think things will go swimmingly. It'll be the paralogue of the Skyway River from last game... just make it a demiplane of its own right (Sigil should always be a demiplane in my mind) Edit: Augh! THIS is my thousandth post? It lacks all sorts of awesomeness. Ah well. 2000, here I come! |
| #317ff6shadowNov 17, 2009 8:56:29 | Iy would have to b e a comination of things. 1 PP per world connected, for example, would work. |
| #318ff6shadowNov 17, 2009 9:01:10 | Aldii, you ned to correct your post. As far as you know, four gods are dead, not three. This is the second time you have posted knowing something your god should not be able to know. |
| #319veokNov 17, 2009 9:02:32 | Hence my repeated assertions that it was still unfinished, and currently does nothing. loclightvoid.wikia.com/wiki/The_Susurrus |
| #320veokNov 17, 2009 19:38:27 | And thus did Mecha claim the masochism domain. :P |
| #321angelofthenightNov 17, 2009 21:39:20 | I'm going to be away from internet for around two weeks. Sorry, looks like things are getting interesting. |
| #322TophehNov 18, 2009 2:18:56 | Be safe, angel. Looks like there are going to be two or three domains popping up before the weekend is done, for those of you still waiting. |
| #323TophehNov 18, 2009 20:26:04 | The Travel domain is about to get its show on the road. PM me to claim it. |
| #324TophehNov 18, 2009 23:07:32 | Domain Claimed. |
| #325ff6shadowNov 18, 2009 23:47:39 | Aldii, I still have a problem with this post - community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... I checked back into the thread. You did not arrive at the meeting where the Silent One was given the obsidian rod until after he had made his massive alterations to the stars. Unless you can point tto another time where he used it, that you were present, or a time when somebody toldyou about it, there is no way you could know about the Silent Ones ability to hide the truth of the stars. Please edit any refernece to that effect out of your post. |
| #326wizdude47Nov 19, 2009 7:16:51 | Yay! A domain for wizdude! Name: Hulzeddim Domain: Travel Appearance: A knotted ball of lines that look like roads. The roads are in constant motion, winding and twisting into new forms. Symbol: None at this time. |
| #327JEFNov 19, 2009 7:54:02 | I would like to participate, preferred domains being chaos/luck; willing to work with whatever you give me though. |
| #328AldiiNov 19, 2009 8:28:52 | Aldii, I still have a problem with this post - community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... Maibe has been watching the skies since they have been created and has seen how every reference to the God of Secrets has faded away. I see that as reason enough that she suspects that he has power over the Stars. I changed the post though to be a little less "All-Knowing". Nontheless Maibe has the ability to think and what he does is VERY VERY OBVIOUS to those that knows that he exists, is obsessed by keeping things secrets and has noticed that the stars works as a history book. A history book that a little now and then changes to take away every little reference to the god of Secrets. |
| #329veokNov 19, 2009 17:14:03 | Wizdude, Anubis isn't with us, he's still standing with Toph. |
| #330wizdude47Nov 19, 2009 17:56:47 | Oops. Missed that post. I'll edit. |
| #331ff6shadowNov 19, 2009 22:42:53 | Wizdude, Chapien, please remove any posts that involve you two talking through the Heart of Corruption. . . since I'm holding it, only I'd have recieved the message. Im not holding it out for the Sculptor or wizdude's god to see, so they shouldn't even know I have it. |
| #332veokNov 19, 2009 23:15:21 | Or, more appropriately, halfway between Verda and Lor'quhan, and Yrie. |
| #333TophehNov 20, 2009 2:21:34 | Tiny edit, Veok. Grawlf's off talking to Anubis... Brinn's got my exarch, Samtaana floating about. |
| #334shadowhntr7Nov 20, 2009 8:15:24 | Ankirega may as well be with Brinn as well, lol. Khitis just left, so I -think- it's just Brinn, Ankirega, and Samtaana. Maybe. |
| #335veokNov 21, 2009 0:18:43 | I propose the name "Arcadia" for Nerdzul's gas giant. |
| #336shadowhntr7Nov 21, 2009 7:09:10 | Call it Jupiter! |
| #337veokNov 21, 2009 10:09:06 | That won't work, it was already identified as a Jovian Planet. That'd be like saying Jupiter, the Jupiter-like planet. |
| #338TophehNov 21, 2009 17:37:48 | This is just a reminder that Age 2 is starting tonight. To remind everyone:
|
| #339ff6shadowNov 21, 2009 17:47:09 | I'm going to ask a general question . . . . . does everybody remember that in order to spend an artifacts PP for something you have to thematically use that artifact in a way that makes sense? Just wondering, because I fail to see how a Wall and a Comet can be used to Shape a populaced. |
| #340TophehNov 21, 2009 23:07:22 | Okay. Two things. 1) Age 2 is officially begun. 2) The Worship domain (this should be a fun one) is available. PM me to claim it. Edit: Still no takers. Going to sleep now. Good luck to someone |
| #341shadowhntr7Nov 22, 2009 7:05:33 | Can't wait to start creating. ![]() Veok, now I'm being like Other-Shadow...how the hell is a more combat-oriented exarch NOT a combat exarch, and provides Shape PP? He's vengeance, not....childbirth...or something.. Second, iirc, you can't use PP of a given type more than once a week, from an artifact or exarch. So your two shapes would be invalid. "Two Exarch or Artifact PP can be spent in addition to your normal allotted PP per week, and only one PP of any given type."- quoted from the Wiki. |
| #342nerdzulNov 22, 2009 8:18:29 | Well, you can have two exarchs\artifacts granting the same bonus, but you can only use one of them every week. Anyway... Next week I'm not sure I'll be able to be online due to my job (that's the reason of my IC wall of text and blowing up all my points hehe) as I'll not be at home and I'm not sure I'll have access to internet for a while. Today I'll try to update all my new wiki pages. Toph I'll try to reply to the pbp today before leaving then if my turn came during the week feel free to npc me. My future plans (that will have to wait for a while I guess): Making the 1001 winds sentient (will a modify be enough?) Creating a race of guardians for the deads (maybe an exarch too but I'm not sure about that). Time to go for me. See you Around ;) |
| #343timmy506Nov 22, 2009 8:52:00 | i would like the worship domain if it is available. |
| #344veokNov 22, 2009 10:28:04 | Ouch shadow, give me a little credit. Asides -- I modified the artifcat into a plane so that point is moot. |
| #345TophehNov 22, 2009 11:07:19 |
|
| #346xiahouxuNov 22, 2009 11:17:11 | Name: Draemus |
| #347AldiiNov 22, 2009 16:15:43 | Aboleth..you know you don´t need to de-nourish if you simply want to kill a couple of the Dhorem. One de-nourish equals a plague that kills thousands. And also in the future, please ask before you are going to attack me. What you have done is quite impossible as Maibe would probably have stabbed you in the face after you killed the first one of her children. |
| #348TophehNov 22, 2009 19:24:44 | Khitis, you only need to spend 2 PP on that combat artifact. You can spend the extra PP if you want, but it won't make it any more powerful. |
| #349Lord_VentnorNov 22, 2009 19:32:59 | Khitis, you only need to spend 2 PP on that combat artifact. You can spend the extra PP if you want, but it won't make it any more powerful. I guess I misremembered a rule there. 1 less PP was spent. |
| #350ff6shadowNov 22, 2009 23:35:58 | His actions, however ill advised, are valid . . I suggest Maibe get to the face stabbing. **stands back to watch Maibe deliver many face stabbings** |
| #351ff6shadowNov 22, 2009 23:45:16 | Anubis It's one thing to be linke with failure and declare it's right arm a combat artifact . . it's another thin entirely to enter and act through it. It is still a Superior Spawn, meaning it is a match for a god in a fight. |
| #352AnubisDreadNov 23, 2009 0:30:59 | Already editted before you even commented Shadow ![]() |
| #353xiahouxuNov 23, 2009 6:13:25 | I was wondering, if it would be possible, if maybe the same rules that apply to the Court could be applied to the Hall of Petitions, perhaps? The idea being that its a kind of divine post office, in essence, that would allow Gods to look over the prayers of their people in an easier fashion. |
| #354shadowhntr7Nov 23, 2009 6:50:31 | Hey, Xiahou, the Gnomes would cost 4 PP during Age 2, since the amounts are reversed. Greater is 2, Lesser is 4. |
| #355xiahouxuNov 23, 2009 7:18:05 | Ooop, I guess they'll have to wait until tommorrow then. Heh. |
| #356TophehNov 23, 2009 11:13:23 | Aboleth, just a reminder that guide actions cost 1 more PP than usual in age 2, so you are short by 1 PP. Also, everyone can expect a flurry of minor rules clarifications and refinements over the next few days, especially in regards to actions such as Maibe's destruction of Yrie's moon. For now, assume that, especially with a modify action, the moon is turned into a bunch of floating rocks, but each rock maintains its air and water and the like and can still support life. (Otherwise, come age 3, some god who doesn't feel like fighting a whole planet in mortal combat could just blow up the planet and kill all the inhabitants... which would be slightly off-balance.) One thing that I can say for certain is that in the mortal combat formula, you should most definitely use the AGE 3 costs for the 'initial PP spent on creation'. In case you can't tell, the rules came together in multiple segments, and it was certainly never intended that a heroic-tier populace created in age 2 should be inherently more powerful than an epic-tier populace... that just doesn't make sense. |
| #357aboleth11Nov 23, 2009 11:54:00 | Aboleth, just a reminder that guide actions cost 1 more PP than usual in age 2, so you are short by 1 PP. Fixed |
| #358ff6shadowNov 23, 2009 15:38:50 | On the subject, for everyone - While it is now possible to create heroic races for 4 PP, please remember that they are not really appropriate for this age, hence while they cost so much. The world is still subject to drastic altering, and the things necessary for them to survive or thrive are not fully present . . . . we've got miimal plant or animal life for even hunter gatheres to exist, and most creatures in existence are epic or beyond. Far better, if you insist, would be to create an epic or paragon populace similar to what you waant, and call them the progenitors, using a modify action later, when appropriate, to bring them into the heroic tier, |
| #359shadowhntr7Nov 24, 2009 7:15:01 | That'd actually be cheaper, too, lol. |
| #360veokNov 24, 2009 12:02:56 | I could'nt find any info on the wiki about combat between populaces. Someone care to fill in the neophyte? |
| #361AldiiNov 24, 2009 12:08:55 | The admin rolls dies according to the strength of the different cultures. |
| #362TophehNov 24, 2009 12:21:10 | loclightvoid.wikia.com/wiki/Mortal_Comba... is the page you want, Veok. Players can roll their own numbers if they'd like using the www.invisiblecastle.com site, which records the rolls so no one gets accused of cheating. I'm putting that up on the wiki right now. On the same note, Aldii, there are two problems with your numbers. 1) The Dhoram have -1 nourishes, so their number should be (+3 -1 +1d6) or 2 +1d6. 2) As convenient as it is, you can't just naturally have a populace hate another populace or group of populaces... you need to guide them. An extension to that... populaces should begin as basically blank slates. They worship you, yes, but beyond that... not much at all. If we start having pre-created differences between groups, I'm worried eventually we'll have some race that 'naturally knows how to build airships' or something silly like that. |
| #363AldiiNov 24, 2009 12:36:10 | invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2333336/ The Dhorem got 8 The Dragons got 10 invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2333340/ |
| #364veokNov 24, 2009 13:48:39 | So by that logic, the Gold Dragons shouldn't get involved because they weren't attacked and weren't Guide(ed) into fighting with the Dhorem? |
| #365TophehNov 24, 2009 13:54:49 | But now they have even less reason to naturally defend the Dhoram. It'll need to be a guide. That said, in this moment, the issue is fairly moot, as the Dhoram fought off the invaders. RP away, and figure out when you want the next 'round' to be. Veok: In my mind, it doesn't even have to be that specific. A guide that says 'they hate them and attack them on sight' or 'they love the dhoram and vow to protect them from all harm' would be sufficient and work from here on out. |
| #366AldiiNov 24, 2009 16:13:40 | Point taken, I will change the post and use a guide a little later on to create a relationship between the Dhorem and the Dragons. Nontheless, Aboleth, do you want to continue the war? |
| #367veokNov 24, 2009 17:46:47 | Oooh, dislike the "everyone rolls for themselves" rule. IMHO, only admins should be rolling dice, it's too easy to fake single dice rolls with external apps like that. (But that's just the cynic in me admitting I'd be tempted myself) |
| #368TophehNov 24, 2009 18:17:23 | Which is why we use the invisiblecastle site and the invisible castle site only. It records the rolls for a few weeks, and I *do* check. Heck, if it had been 'the admins roll' then you'd be seeing me rolling in InvisibleCastle anyways, so nobody throws around accusations of admin bias. :D |
| #369ff6shadowNov 24, 2009 18:42:23 | I was under the impression admins would be rolling, using Invisible Castle . .Toph, I'll see you on chat. |
| #370LordManshoonNov 24, 2009 19:51:36 | I'd just like to give a heads up: I'll be away this week, so I probably won't get the chance to post here. I should be good to go again by Sunday or so. |
| #371TophehNov 24, 2009 20:49:42 | mmmkay. So... yeah. We the admins will be rolling on IC. That way we can yell at each other if we make a mistake :D And Ventnor, slight problem with your post. now that we're in age 2, spawn costs are flipped once more, and modifies cost 1 less than the cost. So, as a superior spawn (Nerdzul, is it still a superior spawn or did you change it to be a greater spawn?) its 4-1=3 PP to modify them, or... if it got changed, 3-1=2 PP. Also, for the same reason as above, I'd like to avoid having beasts that are automatically domesticated by a populace. Thats basically giving the populace a domestication tech for free. So... no populaces that naturally ally with another populace and no spawns that naturally are the pets of a populace. Oh, Aldii, while i'm at it, one *final* thing (today has made me think a lot). I don't think that a group should be able to determine whether or not a race was CREATED by a god. Worships a god, yes, sure, but just the act of creation... not so much. Plus, it gives you a bit more leeway. Wouldn't your Dragons hate a frost titan that worshiped Ymalos just as much as a troll that did? |
| #372ff6shadowNov 24, 2009 21:02:21 | On a similar not, Superior Spawns are a very special thing . . . they shouldn not, in general, be de-spawned, controlle in any way, or modified . . . they are god-like beings. |
| #373TophehNov 24, 2009 23:13:19 | New Wiki page... what populaces are out there, how strong they are, etc, etc. Help me keep it up to date ![]() |
| #374veokNov 24, 2009 23:43:24 | Did you mean this one: loclightvoid.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Rac... ? I can't find anything else... Edit: And the page doesn't even work in link form. I had to browse Toph's contributions in the first place! |
| #375AldiiNov 25, 2009 1:46:47 | Mecha, the Blood Demons are no longer at the moon. Maibe threw them to the Shadowfell, The Hidden One threw them back and then the Three Sisters took them...and did something with them. So please change your post. You are more than free to attack Yrie though, but please give a better reason then some beings that no longer exist. |
| #376ff6shadowNov 25, 2009 1:49:56 | I've already mentioned it in chat, Aldii . . he said he'd work on it. And you didn't make the first dungeon, Anubis. . I did :P . . . . the tomb of the fallen gods (really need a name there soon) is the worlds fiurst dungeon . . . epic at that. What adventurer doesn't want to raid the tombs of dead gods for their artifacts? |
| #377AnubisDreadNov 25, 2009 2:08:08 | Darn, missed it by that much . Ah well, I'll just have to go for 'exarch that makes the most dungeons': sort of planning to turn the Brothers into professional dungeon builders, so to speak ![]() |
| #378TophehNov 25, 2009 3:01:40 | Nah, I mean this one: loclightvoid.wikia.com/index.php?title=N... Your link works fine by me... And it probably didn't show up because its a category and not a 'real' page. Heh, I see Aldii already found it. thanks! |
| #379veokNov 25, 2009 13:30:32 | Hey shadow... wouldn't chormatic dragons be a moderate domain? (Greater - Dragons; Moderate -[family] dragons; lesser [species] dragons) |
| #380ff6shadowNov 25, 2009 13:54:02 | Nope. The pattern would be (example) Greater - Life, Moderate - Dragons, Lesser - Chromatic Dragons, Lesser - Red Dragons |
| #381TophehNov 25, 2009 15:11:36 | Dragons are one of the few examples we could find that made a 4-tiered domain system make sense... the fact that it was one of the FEW examples is why we scrapped it in the end ![]() |
| #382XeadinNov 26, 2009 0:16:29 | I have successfully created a map of the Void. I had volunteered to do so. I hope you guys like it... |
| #383ArmisaelNov 26, 2009 10:24:13 | Huh. Is this still ongoing? I thought it was supposed to end months ago. Does anybody have a compiled chronology of the events up until now? |
| #384ff6shadowNov 26, 2009 11:12:15 | Round 3, actually, Armisael. New world, new rules, new gods. |
| #385ArmisaelNov 26, 2009 11:20:02 | Ah, I see. I was wondering because I never got the email you said you'd send me. Sign me up, then, if it's not much trouble. ![]() |
| #386ff6shadowNov 26, 2009 13:54:56 | I sent it out, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen broadcasts/PMs vanish in this new system. You'll need to become a member of the LoC group. We send broacasts out when there is a new opening. |
| #387ArmisaelNov 26, 2009 14:41:07 | Got it. I'll make sure to join the group. |
| #388AradeiaNov 27, 2009 11:27:41 | Just wanted to clarify, these Noble Eladrin aren't actually Eladrin. These are powerful fey creatures that exemplify various aspects of nature and are an entirely different type of creature. In fact, Eladrin made later on in the game would actually be named after the Noble Eladrin. I just wanted to point this out in case people were wondering if, when they made "progenitor races" if they included the regular, heroic races. They do not. |
| #389TophehNov 27, 2009 13:36:42 | Hey guys. I tracked down my old copy of Campaign Cartographer and am prepared to make maps of various planets if people want me to. I just finished Yrie. Anyone who wants me to make their world of choice, send me a PM with the details. Edit: Found a facinating site... take a look: www.maplib.net/map.php?id=6741# Anyone can add a marker, but you need to register an account to edit or delete one... so... yes. Our wiki can get this functionality added to it, so soon we'll have annotatable maps! woo! |
| #390ArmisaelNov 27, 2009 20:12:55 | Just wanted to clarify, these Noble Eladrin aren't actually Eladrin. These are powerful fey creatures that exemplify various aspects of nature and are an entirely different type of creature. In fact, Eladrin made later on in the game would actually be named after the Noble Eladrin. So they're basically 3.X Eladrin? :P |
| #391veokNov 27, 2009 20:53:12 | You coulda called them... "Fey Lords" or somethin' |
| #392AradeiaNov 27, 2009 21:13:09 | Well because it was supposed to be just the Noble Eladrin that are already in the game, like the Bralani of Autumn Winds and Ghaele of Winter. To tell you the truth, shadow asked me to point out the distinction, in case people get confused. |
| #393veokNov 27, 2009 22:27:33 | How 'bout "Faerie Court" ? |
| #394AradeiaNov 27, 2009 22:29:57 | Well, Noble Eladrin is the terminology used in the books, and I didn't particularly feel like being different just to be different. Plus it brings up the interesting idea that normal Eladrin are named after the Noble versions. |
| #395shadowhntr7Nov 28, 2009 3:54:13 | Note to self: Ymalos's PP uses have slipped through the cracks; namely, the trolls and demolds and whatever. Fix that. |
| #396veokNov 28, 2009 11:31:42 | @Aboleth-- Admins roll all combat rolls now. |
| #397TophehNov 28, 2009 13:01:39 | Quite true, we do. On that note, if on your posts, you could put how many combat exarchs and artifacts you have, etc, etc, that would be great. There's also the issue of who, exactly, is being attacked here. Its Bel's body but Zo-Att's mind :D Anyways, I'll give everyone a few hours to aid the combatants if you want, then I'll roll. |
| #398ff6shadowNov 28, 2009 15:19:30 | Anubis . . . . Lohak keep[s his hammer with him at all times . . . .this "hammer space" doesn't exist . . . where are you keeping thr rod hidden at? |
| #399veokNov 28, 2009 15:38:34 | tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Hamm... Edit: When the database isn't down, of course. |
| #400ff6shadowNov 28, 2009 15:44:40 | I know the origin of the term ;). Just poin ting out, LoC wise, it doesn't exist. |
| #401TophehNov 28, 2009 15:59:30 | Blame me, I did it first. Don't even remember what I hid there... probably Failure... Oh, and here are rolls. Aboleth has 1 PP/day and 1 combat artifact, for... 4d16+2=42 Zo-Att has 1 PP/day and 2 combat artifacts, for... 4d16+4=24 Zo-att has lost, and has a -1d10 modifier to his attacks until the end of the week. He also rolls at an effective rate of .5 PP/day (2d32). |
| #402AnubisDreadNov 28, 2009 18:53:37 | I figured as much shadow, but I wanted to make the hammer space comment heh. As for it not existing, well it wouldn't be much of a stretch for each god to have a small extra dimensional space for no PP, sort of like a bag of holding or something... there are bigger actions for no PP I'm sure. |
| #403MechaliburNov 28, 2009 20:18:44 | Why is it that you don't let players make their own rolls? We're using IC, it's not like we can cheat. I have this problem whenever people make rolls for me. (Not that is matters, but I get a +6 for three combat artifacts) |
| #404ff6shadowNov 28, 2009 20:23:57 | Aldii, I've noticed that you insist on calling echa's current character Zo-Att. There is nothing to indicate that fact There is no wayt you could know that, making it appear as if you are meta-gaming. Please stop. |
| #405AldiiNov 29, 2009 6:22:07 | She doesn´t know it. She is simply mad. It will get more obvious later on when others attack Yrie, she will refer to everyone that chooses to destroy her world or her people as Zo-Att. |
| #406TophehNov 29, 2009 20:08:05 | I have a fun report on a project I've been working on. Annotatable maps! Take a look: |
| #407shadowhntr7Nov 29, 2009 20:53:28 | Sure Toph, let's see ur mad mapping skillz. |
| #408veokNov 29, 2009 20:59:35 | What makes Susurrus so hard to spell? Susurus. er. Ssusseruss. er. Susrus. er... Isles of WONDER (not wisdom) and Dhorem, not Dhoram. You lot are going to give me (and my perfectionism) a major migrane. Actually, make that present tense. *Angry tic on forehead pulses* :D |
| #409shadowhntr7Nov 29, 2009 21:07:15 | *pokes Veok's angry tic* |
| #410TophehNov 30, 2009 1:33:42 | *directs all that anger to Xeadin, who made that map* |
| #411ewancumminsNov 30, 2009 3:16:52 | Wow, LoC Three! Cool. I was one of the original players in Lords of Creation 1. It's interesting, seeing what y'all are doing with the concept. |
| #412shadowhntr7Nov 30, 2009 7:06:37 | C'mon, Toph, at least Xeadin helped out. ![]() |
| #413xiahouxuNov 30, 2009 9:21:35 | Unless somebody wants to claim it especially, I think a new God ascended for Stories and Tales might be nice... Lipsis is beginning to spread the word of whats happening 'Up There' to the mortal races, and as myths and legends begin to develop, it might form a new God. Though, it might also want to be claimed by another God, which might give me a chance for some interaction with everyone else finally, heh.(Darn Time Zones) |
| #414shadowhntr7Nov 30, 2009 9:40:56 | That sounds like a fun god to play. ![]() |
| #415TophehNov 30, 2009 10:35:41 | It was a lovely god to play last game. Lets do it! |
| #416TophehNov 30, 2009 14:17:30 | Aldii, don't forget that this is age 2, so all guides cost 1 more, so teaching them agriculture is 3 PP. |
| #417aboleth11Nov 30, 2009 14:48:40 | If we're doing ascensions again, could I ascend War? |
| #418AradeiaNov 30, 2009 22:43:01 | Abo, people can continue to ascend gods if they want, there is no restriction. Just try to find a justification for why you are ascending that particular domain of course, though I can see where you are going with it. Also, Lord_Ventnor, Spawn actions need to specify a specific creature, you can't just say "swamp things." You could say aligators, or giant dragonflies, or even living balls of muck that feed on excrement and fecal matter. But you can't just be that general and say "a group of things related to this." |
| #419shadowhntr7Dec 01, 2009 19:32:38 | I don't think I'm ever gonna get my kids from Sonel. >_> |
| #420TophehDec 02, 2009 12:31:37 | Hey Aboleth, Remember that divine servants are subject to admin approval, so... ask us first before declaring it thusly ;) These look just fine, though. |
| #421aboleth11Dec 02, 2009 12:43:10 | OK. Sorry 'bout that. Can the Maenads be divine servants? |
| #422angelofthenightDec 02, 2009 20:46:21 | I'm back. Can someone explain maplib to me? |
| #423shadowhntr7Dec 03, 2009 4:39:19 | Hey, guys! Your favorite wiki-editting public servant is here with a bit of fun to be had! Starting now, once every week on Sunday, one article will be added to a 'Hall Of Fame' category, showing off some of the best characters, craziest races, and unique creations. So! Each week, vote once in this thread on any one character or creation that you think is above the rest, and it'll be marked down in the record books as a Hall of Fame inductee. Rules: You cannot vote for anything you have spent PP on. Do not vote for the creator of a creation if you want the creation itself. Tie breakers will be determined by dice rolls. All hail your chocobo overlords. Have fun! |
| #424xiahouxuDec 04, 2009 10:16:01 | Any other races I should spread the art of worship to? Lipsis is feeling like making a trip or 3 throughout the mortal worlds... Also... Prod me to have a conversation with Draemus (In the Hall of Petitions or through the mask) or Lipsis. Heh... Darn Time Zones. |
| #425veokDec 04, 2009 11:58:20 | The Leviathans on Lor'quhan are an option, and there is a portal on that world to take you into The Susurrus and the Malevolants if you so desire. |
| #426AnubisDreadDec 04, 2009 15:03:07 | The gigotaurs are also an option, though I'm not sure how kindly they'd take to worshiping the whole pantheon... their religion at the moment is fairly monolithic, and they're happy to have it that way. |
| #427TophehDec 04, 2009 21:28:14 | Poor Trolls. They get absolutely no rest before they are yanked around again for another god to experiment with. Holding off on the broadcast for Moondoggy's new god, as I have been asked to send both of those at once... and that it will make more sense that way. But, we do have the god of undeath. ARISE, SERVANT OF DARKNESS AND UNDEATH! AND PM ME!! |
| #428shadowhntr7Dec 05, 2009 8:25:39 | Response for the Hall of Fame is underwhelming, to say the least.. I need to do a Create or Shape within three hours, so I can spend that floating PP. ;) |
| #429nerdzulDec 05, 2009 8:27:27 | maybe we can make a pool about the best article or something if you want to promote that "vote" shadowhunter I find it an interesting idea but I'd not know what to vote at the moment (too many things to choose from :p) |
| #430TophehDec 05, 2009 11:25:34 | Heh... Aboleth, just seconds from getting smacked around and you're already itching for another fight? So be it. How many combat artifacts do you have nowadays? |
| #431shadowhntr7Dec 05, 2009 11:37:02 | That's two artifacts, Toph. Also, gimme a PP so I can make a Nourish or Guide artifact before the week rolls over. ![]() And Nerdzul, it's not necessarily the best article, because I've written 95% of them. It's best character/creation in IC. |
| #432aboleth11Dec 05, 2009 12:08:41 | Two. And Nenneve deserves it. Can I make the Maenads attack stuff for free? |
| #433TophehDec 05, 2009 13:32:32 | Well, the dead have risen. That domain is taken. But! The twin domains of Luck and Peace are now available... it should be noted that Sonel and Brinn have taken a bit more of a... parental role in these gods... and have named them. The god of Luck is named Aphale (for now) and is female(for now). The god of Peace is named Shande (for now) and is female (for now). As we all know, things in LoC can change (I'm looking at you, Ara... how many forms has Bel taken now?), but... at least for starters, this is what they'd like as the first actualy 'parents' So yes. PM me with your interest in these two domains. (A note, they are separate gods, so please do not say 'I would like the domains'... let me know your first and second pick :P) |
| #434TophehDec 05, 2009 14:04:00 | Hunter, if I had a PP, I'd give one to you, but I think I'm completely out. ![]() And without further ado... dice rolls. Ninneve's roll: 4d16=43 Ymalos' roll 4d16+4=26 From this, Ymalos has been defeated, and is at a .5 PP effective level with a -1d10 modifier until 3 PM EST next saturday. |
| #435ff6shadowDec 05, 2009 14:08:28 | I'd give it to you hunter, but you'd have to seek me out . . . . and I'm heading to work anyways :P |
| #436veokDec 05, 2009 14:42:30 | Irregardless = regardless. Irregardless makes English majors cry. Please, think of the English majors. |
| #437TophehDec 05, 2009 15:13:02 | Really, Veok? You come to an internet forum and expect proper grammar and word choice? You *do* know this is the internet, right? Home of 1337 and RoTaTiNg CaPs and PEOPLE WHO TALK LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!11111!!!! ![]() Take your Prescriptive rules back to your papers, English Major! They do not belong here! :P |
| #438AnubisDreadDec 05, 2009 15:14:26 | Plus technically speaking irregardless is an actual word, it's like regardless except it has a slightly more formal connotation. |
| #439veokDec 05, 2009 15:54:43 | en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irregardless Quote: "It is generally listed in dictionaries as "incorrect" or "nonstandard"." And I know my crusade may be futile. But with my beatstick of grammar, I shall strive to better that portion of the internet with which I become affiliated! |
| #440AnubisDreadDec 05, 2009 16:04:39 | There are lots of words that don't get put into the dictionary for whatever reason, and some nonsense words that for whatever reason do (eg d'oh). Besides which, since around 1961 it's been cropping up in dictionaries as an official word, even if it's still rather controversial (some dictionaries even blatantly state 'use regardless instead'). Also, you may be a grammar nazi, but I'm a vocabulary nazi, and will not let you dismiss a perfectly adequate if somewhat oxymoronic word so others do not have the capability to utilize it |
| #441timmy506Dec 05, 2009 16:14:42 | this is Timmy here is info Name: Fo'jadr Apperance: A skeleton of my choice sewn together by fire with darkness shooting out Domain: Undead Holy symbol: a skeleton hurling fire from its mouth o by the way i spend 2 PP to make armor made of darkness that can pull dead bodies to me and bring them back to life to help and makes me look like a warforged from DDO ![]() Intentions: create a giant army of undead to eat all things living to build my army ![]() ![]() |
| #442veokDec 05, 2009 18:17:59 |
You used "utilize" on purpose, didn't you, ya jerk. :D |
| #443TophehDec 05, 2009 18:22:16 | Um... not *quite* what I meant, Timmy... The IC thread is all in-game RP, so we don't need you to post your god's name, appearance, etc, but if you want something like that armor, you'll need to post, in character as your god, in the IC thread, how you go about creating it. So yes... please edit. |
| #444TophehDec 05, 2009 19:49:44 | No takers? In case anyone missed it... two domains (luck and peace) are now available. PM me to claim. |
| #445ArmisaelDec 05, 2009 21:18:19 | They're not exactly the most interesting domains, really. Luck's a concept where it's difficult to make an interesting character whose style hasn't been used countless times before, and Peace is...well, it's Peace. As cool as a hippy god would be, it'd clash spectacularly with the atmosphere. :P |
| #446TophehDec 05, 2009 22:22:57 | Well, time to make a new section in the first post for 'available domains' :D |
| #447nerdzulDec 06, 2009 6:47:55 | A question about the rules, does the member races influence the power of a nation in case of a war? for example is Casaka starting power 1 or 4 (as it is made of an epic race?) |
| #448shadowhntr7Dec 06, 2009 10:54:40 | Judging by the complete lack of interest in the Hall of Fame...I'm grumpy. Grr. |
| #449AradeiaDec 06, 2009 10:57:44 | I vote for.... Anubis' Blight Spirits! Happy Hunter? |
| #450shadowhntr7Dec 06, 2009 11:02:17 | Sure, for this week. I'm putting The Brothers for last week, since I guess it all came down to me. |
| #451angelofthenightDec 06, 2009 13:31:17 | Is it fair to say the Maenids all die because you just teleported them into an enviroment that is completely airless and heatless? 'Cause that's what I assumed. |
| #452AnubisDreadDec 06, 2009 13:48:05 | Sorry about not voting for the Hall of Fame last week, I intended to think of what to vote for for a while and misjudged the amount of time left before I had to vote ^_^; Though since the Brothers won I'm not complaining, man they're fun to write for In any case, I suppose this week I'll vote for... Cragnas. He's an oldie but a goodie, any environment that includes a rampaging beast of destruction in it's life cycle deserves an honorable mention. |
| #453MechaliburDec 06, 2009 14:52:36 | I think few people want them because they have little creativity with deciding the features of their gods. I for one, would not take a place if my description and name had already been decided. |
| #454ff6shadowDec 06, 2009 16:16:20 | Yeah, I forgot to mention that . . . I thought Toph would. They cannot name the new godling. Hunter, moondoggy, you shoudl edit reference to the sec and name of the child from your post. An ascending god is permitted to choose the new gods domain, and nothing else. |
| #455nerdzulDec 06, 2009 17:12:09 | mmm I think that Maenads are spirits like so they don't need to breath (but I'm not 1000% sure about that) |
| #456angelofthenightDec 06, 2009 19:32:48 | Ymalos was in a terrible mood. His attempt to gain power over the strange beings had failed terribly. His influence was still stuck on the northern continent of Yrie. He needed a race that could travel the cosmos. Then he had an idea. He turned to the nearest troll and told him to go get him a live dhorem. When it arrived, Ymalos waved his hand and the struggling dhorem froze in place. Then Ymalos started to change the dhorem. First he touched her arms and huge musles began to appear wear weak flesh had been. Then he changed her hair to black and made her teeth razor sharp. Finally, he linked her mind with his. Then he snapped his fingers and a hundred of the appeared. Ymalos called out to them and said "I name you the maenads. You are my closest worshippers and you will spread slaughter and carnage through out the universe. You will be there wherever there is death! Now go out and kill!" Then he snapped his fingers again and thousands more appeared. The newly made dhorem stumbled around for a little while then one by one, vanished into the universe. This makes them sound mortal. Though I can't be sure since I don't know what the dhorem are. |
| #457ff6shadowDec 06, 2009 19:36:38 | Angel, we admins have discussed it in chat. By making them divine servants, they have the Immortal Origin and do not need to breathe. Further, as the void has never been said to be cold, and there is no ingame reason why it would be, so his attack is valid. |
| #458veokDec 06, 2009 19:53:58 | @Mecha -- Wasn't only one of the Three Sisters entombed? (Lohak's mother) |
| #459MechaliburDec 06, 2009 19:59:22 | They were all the same person, so it doesn't really matter. And Zo-Att made a star-grave for Panna. |
| #460angelofthenightDec 06, 2009 21:16:59 | Dang, alright I'll get on it as far as editing. |
| #461TophehDec 06, 2009 21:51:16 | I grabbed the other two and brought them to the tomb as well. |
| #462angelofthenightDec 06, 2009 22:18:14 | How do you upload monstors created in the Monstor Builder? |
| #463TophehDec 07, 2009 2:10:35 | I, with windows XP, do the following. right click on the monster name, hit 'copy as image', then open up paint and paste it there before saving as a .jpg and then going to the wiki and uploading it. |
| #464angelofthenightDec 07, 2009 6:46:59 | Thank you, I'll try it this evening. |
| #465shadowhntr7Dec 07, 2009 7:43:10 | I've editted the post giving my baby a name and gender, so yayz. |
| #466veokDec 07, 2009 12:48:42 | Hey, I'm having internet issues. Long story short, there is now only a single ethernet socket in my dorm room, and so I must share with the roommate. Posting may be sporadic (if at all) over the next ten days. Just a heads up to any who were intending to do something with me. |
| #467ff6shadowDec 07, 2009 15:35:42 | Aboleth, I'm going to remind you that if you let them use your artifacts, you will be unable to use them until next Sunday. Further, I am going to remind you one final time: Before resorting to the formula, you and angel ae to speak via PM or chat about resolving it without using it. Only if it cannot be resolve in that fashion is the formula used. |
| #468aboleth11Dec 07, 2009 17:12:33 | I did PM Angel. I'm just posting it here in case we can't come to an agreement. |
| #469angelofthenightDec 07, 2009 21:11:02 | We have an agreement. How will the "+ PP spent in creation" part work? After all, with the ages, this means that humans, discounting luck, would destroy a civilizaton of Beholders of comparable size. |
| #470TophehDec 08, 2009 1:48:39 | Oh yeah... that needs to be changed, actually. For races, its just going to be the normal (age 3) cost. Otherwise, those dumb humans would be a little too buff. :D |
| #471nerdzulDec 08, 2009 5:54:18 | Hehe we had a little discussion about that yesterday, but I guess it is still work in progress :p |
| #472angelofthenightDec 08, 2009 6:38:26 | haha ok thanks. |
| #473shadowhntr7Dec 08, 2009 9:45:38 | *evil cackle* Just made a statblock for an Ancient Sap Dragon, and it looks deliciously evil. ![]() I've also added to Ankirega's statblock, now he's even more kickass. |
| #474shadowhntr7Dec 10, 2009 10:15:54 | Hey Aldii? Since when does Maibe know what or where Verda is? She's never been there before. |
| #482TophehDec 13, 2009 22:44:07 | As its a creature made in this world, its quite relevant ![]() Sorry angel, haven't had time to look at it, but my initial impression is that its quite good. Looks a bit like the death titans from MM... if those are the ones that carry around souls |
| #483TophehDec 14, 2009 2:32:36 | Oh, another thing. Just reminding everyone on the waitlist that there are in fact two domains available this instant. Luck is one, and the other, which HAD BEEN peace, has been changed to 'Lore/Storytelling'. Do Nixis v. 2.0 proud folks! PM Me to claim! |
| #484ArmisaelDec 14, 2009 6:06:43 | Hmm...that's a much more awesome domain. I think I'll hold out for now, but that's way way better than Luck and Peace. |
| #485shadowhntr7Dec 14, 2009 6:40:18 | Good grief...it's already been a week, and I'm still stuck in limbo waiting for 'an awesome domain'. Seriously, what the hell does it have to be for it to be taken? |
| #486ArmisaelDec 14, 2009 6:48:03 | Something more than a lackey? I briefly considered Storytelling, but it feels a little too similar to the time I got banned, so I'd rather do something a little different. |
| #487shadowhntr7Dec 14, 2009 8:03:48 | ....more than a lackey? o_O Nothing related to Brinn is ever a lackey, I can tell ya that. Um...Good domain could possibly be done... Animals, maybe... Mountains? I'm certainly not ascending a god of war or evil or anything. |
| #488ArmisaelDec 14, 2009 10:14:37 | Lackey's just a term. What I mean is, nobody wants to play second fiddle to someone else, especially with a domain that is nowhere near their interests. It begs the question, though...where's the rest of the waiting list? |
| #489ff6shadowDec 14, 2009 10:19:28 | Yeah, where the rest of the waiting list is is a good question. . . .there are two more domains out there waiting for us to broadcast them, but until those two are claimed we won't be broadcasting any further domains. |
| #490xiahouxuDec 14, 2009 11:37:15 | Struggling with things for Lipsis and Draemus to get up to really... Anybody have any ideas? I'd fancy expanding domains at this rate, Worship can be fairly confined, though very fun to play with. |
| #491angelofthenightDec 14, 2009 22:06:12 | Well the Soulspike Devourers use souls to heal with, so I wrote it as a natural extension for them to replicate from them. And Hunter, this game has a very long tradition of statting up monstors, homebrew or just modified. |
| #492shadowhntr7Dec 14, 2009 22:21:38 | Um, yeah, I know. I've already statted up some of my own. Ankirega, Great Zephyr, and an Ancient Sap Dragon. |
| #493TophehDec 15, 2009 11:36:45 | ;) I think he meant Veok. Still no takers on the domains. We shall see... |
| #494MechaliburDec 15, 2009 14:11:47 | It's simple, really. We burned through the waiting list far too quickly, and now we are left with people who have lost interest. No one else really wants to join since We're at over 1,400 posts, which I don't think is all that fun to read through. |
| #495nerdzulDec 15, 2009 14:36:14 | bah [sarcasm] it would have being better for sure to have the ppl in the waiting list wait forever and loose interest while waiting... [sarcasm] |
| #496MechaliburDec 15, 2009 16:09:37 | I'd prefer people wait longer and lose interest than rush people in and make the game less interesting as a whole. |
| #497nerdzulDec 15, 2009 16:40:00 | I still find the game intersting... and I guess that the fact that it has more players is not the thing that makes it booring for those who don't like it... |
| #498angelofthenightDec 15, 2009 18:22:37 | My bad Hunter, I did mean Veok. Apologies. |
| #499ArmisaelDec 15, 2009 21:38:40 | It's simple, really. We burned through the waiting list far too quickly, and now we are left with people who have lost interest. No one else really wants to join since We're at over 1,400 posts, which I don't think is all that fun to read through. People didn't lose interest, and reading isn't an issue. Your domains are just god-damn boring. |
| #500shadowhntr7Dec 15, 2009 22:27:06 | Then seriously, what domains do you think ARE interesting? |
| #501chapienDec 15, 2009 22:36:19 | On the contrary, Armisael. Many others got domains they 'didn't want' and look what they did with them. The forest domain wound up interesting, for example. If you think a domain is boring, you should claim it anyway and make it amazing. I didn't want corruption initially. Look what I've done with it. I love it now. The point is, if you can't make a domain not boring and exciting for you, you're just either a. afraid it'll be boring the whole game and won't be able to do with it (poor excuse, anything can be made interesting) or b. just a bad role-player that can't handle all kinds of situations. |
| #502shadowhntr7Dec 15, 2009 22:50:57 | Yeah, I had no idea what I was going to do with Forest...and now I'm the combined hippy and busybody of the universe. You learn a tech...I learn it...everyone learns it! Not why I made the spirits, but it's still funny. ![]() |
| #503AnubisDreadDec 15, 2009 22:51:27 | Although I have to say calling someone a bad roleplayer isn't a good way to persuade someone, in principal I agree with Chapien. I mean, I got Secrets for my starting domain. Secrets! And yet, it's still an incredibley fun character who's managed to become a major behind the scenes player of the multiverse. Well, a bit of it anyway... besides which, I'd think that Fortune would be an awesome domain. Gambling/game playing fods ftw |
| #504ff6shadowDec 16, 2009 0:08:58 | Hunter, thats not exactly true . . . . races don't spread techs or inherit techs from their neghbor . . . just nations. I am aware that I told you incorrectly beffore, and that is my fault. |
| #505ArmisaelDec 16, 2009 1:10:29 | Since you guys want to know...off the top of my head, stuff that makes for interesting, innovative ideas is Perception, Entropy, Research, Judgement, Honesty, Majesty (as in, someone being majestic or dignified, not royalty), Power, etc. Basically, something that hasn't been done so many times in core fluff you couldn't find a new spin even after shaping it like a top and putting it on a merry-go-round. Further, let me paint a couple archetypes, so that my point is reinforced: Luck: Tricksters are old hat, and the kind that is modeled after the Laughing Rogue has been beaten to death. Mediators, who are basically glorified intermediaries of a living concept, are a potentially interesting variety, but they clash with the setting and promote...err, power creep of a sort by creating quasi-overdeities. Fatespinners, who warp Luck to bless their beloved, are overpowered and thus unusable here. Those are the most basic types I can remember. Peace: Hippies are out, of course. Goody-two-shoes are basically impossible to separate from each other, and defined by their other domains. Evil peaceful gods are possible, but once again would fit better as another domain (like, say, Stagnation). Peace isn't really used much just because it's not too interesting, and its counterpart, War, actually adds something while this one...doesn't, really. Storytelling: This one is interesting and has a lot more potential. Obviously, there's the cliché charlatan, who spins yarns that would make Jan Jansen proud. Then, a potential creator, who basically uses their creativity and makes all the fantastic tales come true. Another one is a doublethinker, someone who creates false stories so convincing people accept them and they eventually become real. I was actually tempted to take this, but decided against this since I'm already doing something pretty similar elsewhere and don't trust myself not to repeat stuff. Hope this clears the reasons I consider the domains boring a bit, and why I'm holding out for something else. One is a dead end, another one has limited approaches due to how it would make for an overpowered god most of the time, and a third one is actually interesting but I can't take it for unrelated reasons. >_> PS: Incidentally, of all the domains mentioned, only Forest seems meh to me. All the rest are wide open to creative interpretations, and I honestly wouldn't mind trying them, for instance. PPS: And trying to make something you dislike work just out of "welp, I HAVE TO DO THIS NO EXCEPTIONS TIME TO WRITE FOR THE TRADE" is something I personally consider a terrible idea. What is the point of doing something on your free time if your heart isn't in it? You'll tire of it and make the experience unfun for other participants, after all. |
| #506AnubisDreadDec 16, 2009 1:54:37 | What about the 'psychopathic game player' for luck? That's a fun archetype that's rarely used... "Let's play a game shall we? Oh, you lost a piece, and- oh wait, I forgot to mention for each piece you lose, the rope I tied around you to dangle down the cliff frays a little more. My bad." As for peace... well I used to play a god of peace (albeit taking it late on) in the last LoC, so I might be bypassed, but I had no lack of fun with the god... admittedly the fact he had the mentality of a child is prolly what made it more fun to roleplay heh. |
| #507ArmisaelDec 16, 2009 1:59:41 | The crazy gambler is not a bad idea, yes. I don't trust myself with it because I know I occasionally go on powergaming trips, but it can definitely work in the hands of a responsible player. Hmm...actually, this gives me an idea or two. I'll need to sleep over this, but I'LL BE BACK. Possibly with a good enough concept to play. :P |
| #508xiahouxuDec 16, 2009 12:44:31 | *Chuckles* Just been reading through the lightvoid wiki.... And mass-mentions of Drae-'metagame'-mus. Why so? Its been pretty explicit he has no knowledge of what goes on in anybody's petitions. The Watcher's do, but have no ability to communicate it to anyone, purposefully, or any contact with any world outside their own, small chamber, especially not with Draemus. Lipsis' Mask functions, essentially, like the Coat of Eyes from Eberron... In game it would probably provide a bonus to history and religion checks, maybe a small form of resistance. It lets Draemus see the world through another's eyes, because he'd never leave himself... But Lipsis can't be in multiple places at once... so...? |
| #509KrikaDec 16, 2009 13:39:57 | Hey, I would have wanted Creation or Life, but I got Dreams instead. Hey, wasn't something I would have thought about, but it is nice. And I get to make Quori. Oh Yah. |
| #510lakiethDec 16, 2009 16:17:09 | intrested Domain Peace Name Lakieth appearance Slender elf with rapier and always werars a green top hat with a pitch bllack robe and whtie hair |
| #511TophehDec 16, 2009 16:51:25 | Hi Lakieth, unfortunatly, the peace domain isn't available... my fault for not changing it on the front page. It got replaced by the storytelling or Lore domain. Are you interested in that one or the luck domain? I can also ask the original ascender if they'd be willing to switch it back to Peace for you. |
| #512lakiethDec 16, 2009 18:29:36 | Story telling would be so pimp plz that would be awesome i cabt wait if u want me to play |
| #513TophehDec 16, 2009 19:19:58 | So, storytelling is gone, but luck remains. |
| #514lakiethDec 16, 2009 21:21:56 | As Spower ponderd ways to remember these great heroes he kept forgetting the ways he thought then he started making symbolsto represent these ideas then with great power and thought he created a 25 letter alphabet so many could learn of these heroes great deeds. 1pp Created minor domain Writing |
| #515ArmisaelDec 16, 2009 22:48:52 | Hmm...I think I'll take Luck, after all. Got an interesting idea for a fan of games of chance. Name: Durenghast Domain: Luck Description: Streaks of golden light that circle around a light yellow haze. The haze transforms into other forms as needed, but the streaks remain constant. PS: Also, wrong thread dude. :P |
| #516ff6shadowDec 16, 2009 22:50:00 | Armisael, you are approved. . . . .feel free to being posting. |
| 4d16=41TophehDec 17, 2009 20:53:04 | Rolls: 2d16+4d8+4d4+2=49 :Brinn 4d16=41 :FIRE MAN! |
| #518ArmisaelDec 17, 2009 21:53:33 | Armisael, you are approved. . . . .feel free to being posting. Good. Now the only thing I need to do is read through the wallz you people post while I'm asleep. :P |
| #519AnubisDreadDec 17, 2009 23:28:33 | Just a heads up, I'll be out of town for a week or two, so my posting may be a little more sporadic than usual. Or not at all, depending on Internet access heh. I'm guessing it won't be that bad though. |
| #520ArmisaelDec 18, 2009 0:57:24 | Uhm...I think I've got a problem here. I've searched around, checked the Wiki, and read the thread...but I can't find who created me and in which circumstances, and I assume I'm not going to be the first god to be spontaneously generated, ironic as it would be. Could someone lend me a hand and maybe link me to the post where the action to Ascend a god of Luck was made? Thanks in advance. |
| #521shadowhntr7Dec 18, 2009 7:11:02 | Sure. You were ascended by Sonel on the plane of Renissa. Sonel left Renissa, and did not mention if he took you or not...so... you might be with him or me. Hell, you might even be alone there since circumstances with Brinn are what they are. The biggest thing is, though, that you were given birth to by normal mortal means. Man, wife, you know the drill. The ascension post was at the bottom of page 30, I believe. |
| #522ArmisaelDec 18, 2009 11:08:34 | I see. I'll shoot Moondoggy a PM, just in case. Thanks! |
| #523shadowhntr7Dec 18, 2009 12:02:51 | You know Doggy doesn't really have any internet at this point, right? |
| #524TophehDec 18, 2009 12:46:33 | But he should be back in a week or so. I guess now is the time to mention that I too will be travelling over the next two weeks. Although I intend to be logging on and playing... I won't be on for hours at a time. So... yeah. |
| #525ArmisaelDec 18, 2009 14:36:02 | You know Doggy doesn't really have any internet at this point, right? Hmm. I must have missed that. Guess I'll have to wing it somehow. ![]() |
| #526TophehDec 18, 2009 15:14:13 | Announcing a rather important rules change: We've been talking for some time amongst ourselves about the tech system, and what a horrible horrible beast it might become in the future if there isn't some way to Document the creation of 'Cultural Contact' or 'Trade' between two groups. We've decided that trade is established with a PP action. If you look at my latest post, I have officially established the trade relationship between the Grotto and Casaka, and spent PP documenting that this has occured (in this case it was a nourish action, but a guide would be equally valid). If you have already created such a bond between your group and another, please make a similar action in the near future. This change will eliminate a great deal of confusion over the workings of techs in the future. A few notes as well (all of this will be up on the wiki soon) 1. Groups that form out of another group (a race, a nation, etc) will automatically have a trading relationship with their founding group(s), barring circumstances that would make this unlikely (apostate groups, rebel groups, kidnapped and sent to another plane groups, etc...) 2. Assume that groups that are added to your nation maintain a relationship with their original group. 3. Perhaps there will be a note 3, but I haven't thought of it yet. |
| #527TophehDec 19, 2009 3:42:04 | While we are at it... I have a request. As of late, our PP expenditures (mine included) have been getting a little sloppy, and as I am writing them down, I'm finding myself unable to parse what exactly is happening PP-wise in your post from your expenditures, which would be ideal. Just to remind everyone, there is no action called 'superior mold', its 'mold land (superior). Hunter, I'm especially confused with your post turning the Immortal flame into Phoeni... are the Phoeni a spawn or a populace? Modify X to X doesn't tell me nearly enough to figure that out. I interpret and look at the posts whenever I can, but... if we could all try to keep our expenditures crystal clear, I would be very appreciative. Thanks! |
| #528shadowhntr7Dec 19, 2009 7:05:41 | I thought you guys said turning a spawn into a race wasn't an option?.. |
| #529TophehDec 19, 2009 15:12:01 | Nope... look back a couple of pages and I say the exact opposite. Cost to modify is always 1 PP less than what you are modifying into, rather than what you are modifying out of. Spawn <--> Populace works, but no other things work.... don't go turning your populaces into artifacts or some such nonsense |
| #530veokDec 19, 2009 18:05:20 | Nope... look back a couple of pages and I say the exact opposite. Suddenly I have a vision of some errant god turning an entire race into an army of terra-cotta artifact statues. But I digress. Finally got my laptop and internet issues fixed. (LIVE, video card, LIVE!). I think I'm going to tackle the 150+ new posts later tonight. :D |
| #531TophehDec 20, 2009 0:16:06 | Well, Lohak would be the one with the premade crypt to fill with soldiers for the afterlife. |
| #532TophehDec 20, 2009 15:12:37 | Well, I'm off for the next two weeks. I'll check in when I can. Happy holidays, all. |
| #533nerdzulDec 20, 2009 15:39:37 | bye bye toph |
| #534TophehDec 21, 2009 1:28:45 | EVERYONE. I MESSED UP ON THE EXPENDITURES. HERE ARE THE ACTUAL NUMBERS. |
| #535veokDec 21, 2009 10:05:31 | I think my week of inactivity nixed my chances for getting upgraded this week. ![]() |
| #536shadowhntr7Dec 23, 2009 22:31:15 | Brinn's response to Bel's 'conversion': Brinn thought Bel was madd and killed her using a ultmate bow of +50000 Awesome God Smiting and drank her blood turning into a vampire lol and then claimed undeath and killed timmy's god and ruled the world forever like the tyrant she now was and then killed zo-att after she fought back for a week and crowned her throne with the desroyrs' head and lived forever. This post shall live forever. FOREVER! Delete it and I will be very cross. ![]() |
| #537MechaliburDec 23, 2009 22:45:43 | Zo-Att continues to warm Brinn's head. |
| #538ArmisaelDec 23, 2009 22:47:24 | Reposted: Adahan watches from the great beyond, interested in how someone seems to be displaying similar actions to him. ((No, he's not coming back, don't worry. :P)) |
| #539veokDec 23, 2009 23:03:57 | Admins? I already have claim to the "Renewal" domain. Is "rebirth" sufficiently different from it? (especially considering they were both claimed as moderate domains). |
| #540ArmisaelDec 23, 2009 23:07:48 | I'm not an admin, but Renewal sounds like live things returning to their full greatness. Rebirth is...well, coming back from the dead. Sounds different to me. |
| #541ff6shadowDec 24, 2009 2:45:34 | Take my words with a grain of salt, as I;vebeen driunking heavily with old friends. Aradeia and Toph may remind me of something I've forgotten. But no rule prohibits two gods claiming gthe same domain, much less similar ones.. . . . . we don't ascend gods with the same domain twice, but claiming it is not prohibited. |
| #542shadowhntr7Dec 24, 2009 6:31:15 | On the wiki, rebirth and renewal are in fact listed seperately. |
| #543timmy506Dec 24, 2009 9:39:11 | Umm... i'm still not on the family tree thing |
| #544TophehDec 24, 2009 13:06:45 | Oh Shadow... drunk posting is just as bad as drunk dialing! (You're right, though) Two gods can take the same domain... although nothing says those two gods must be friendly about it ![]() And yeah, rebirth and renewal are different. Its all moot till Ara actually spends the PP on it, anyways ![]() Timmy, I'll get on that today... have a few gods that need to be added. |
| #545ff6shadowDec 24, 2009 14:21:44 | Hey, considering how drunk I was, I managed to do fairly well. I answered the question correctly, and had no more typos than usual. |
| #546shadowhntr7Dec 25, 2009 6:05:04 | Merry Christmas. ![]() I'm considering making the Ankir (heroic or epic) divine servants... to what extend are their guide actions free? Is every action with Guide in it's name free, no matter what? |
| #547TophehDec 25, 2009 16:54:06 | Indeed! Merry Christmas! Hunter, any 'go here do this' guide action is free (the typically 1 PP guide actions). Techs are still the same cost. Also, I'm travelling again tomorrow (to my parents instead of my in-laws, so odds are I will not be on at the time for new turn-edness. As of this moment, everyone is the same except for Zo-Att, who is up to 1.15 PP. I'll post a full update when I get back on the internet. ~Toph |
| #548shadowhntr7Dec 26, 2009 9:09:50 | I have just made a handy table on Brinn's page to log all the races, nations, nourishes, and growths of Brinn's. However, I have a question: When I nourish a race into a nation (for instance, Ankir into The Grotto), does that count as a nourish for the populace (Ankir) or the nation (Grotto)? I've put the table info as if it applied to the nation and not the race. Also, does a modified race automatically join the nation it's parents were in, i.e. Blaze/Ash dragons? Or is that a seperate action? And to Nerdzul: If you'd like to teach your Aszhari shamanism, feel free to spend a pair of Nourish PP to establish a trade link between your nation and The Grotto. With the new system, we can actually do that now, without me having to give shamanism to anyone I encounter. ![]() Oh...and what base power is the phoenix race that I made from the Immortal Flame? |
| #549nerdzulDec 26, 2009 9:26:46 | I have some ideas about the Aszhari, if I find you online later I'll talk to you about that so we can make a little role playing and than I'll nourish for the trading :p See you later and merry christmas ppl (even if its a little late hehe) |
| #550shadowhntr7Dec 26, 2009 9:46:42 | I'm on Mibbit right now, Nerdzul. |
| #551nerdzulDec 26, 2009 17:15:06 | Hehe I knew that but I was logging off at that time :p |
| #552shadowhntr7Dec 26, 2009 21:38:51 | Yeah, well, shame on you. ![]() |
| #553veokDec 27, 2009 1:47:38 | @ Anubis -- would send a PM but there appears to be something wrong with the Captchas currently. Anyway, this battle is something Aradeia and I have worked out before hand. You might not want to spend PP to attack her in addition to it. |
| #554AnubisDreadDec 27, 2009 3:49:32 | One of the down sides of being completely out of touch due to current circumstances... my bad, I'll edit accordingly. |
| #555AradeiaDec 28, 2009 11:43:44 | Um, Ekluag (or Krika I suppose), did you not see my last post? The Susurrus just exploded. The two goddesses are not fighting any longer. In fact, they are both dead. I also would like to know where you specified that you were following Bel at all. You cannot just retroactively say that you were following her all along. That's too close to the omniscience we were trying to avoid. I suppose the deaths on Lor'quhan were enough to draw your attention and lead you there, but you do have to specify it as thus, and as far as I can tell, you don't have much reason to be following Bel and the Sculptor, especially since they teleported. Then again, I may be mistaken, in which case, please enlighten me. I like being enlightened. ![]() |
| #556KrikaDec 28, 2009 12:05:53 | Oh. OOOhhh. ![]() I'll just go fix that now.... |
| #557TophehDec 28, 2009 14:02:58 | ... I go offline for two days and everything goes to hell. What. A. Surprise. :P In other news... have a new laptop now, so it'll be touch and go for me the next few days as I move everything over. Turn info will be out... as soon as I catch up |
| #558TophehDec 28, 2009 14:14:12 | Okay, I've caught up through saturday night, so here's the update. 1.15 PP/day Brinn (30.1),Dvrgr(28.9),Lohak(27.6),Eshcal(16.3),The Silent One (16), Zo-Att (2.8) 1 PP/day The Sculptor (91.2),Maibe(78),Bel(71.6),Ymalos(66.8),Shry(66),Sku'Byss (53.1),Nenneve(49),Draemus(26),Spower(10),Durenghast(3) |
| #559TophehDec 28, 2009 14:40:54 | Okay... and one more thing. Bel and The sculptor are now dead, yes? |
| #560shadowhntr7Dec 28, 2009 14:42:38 | Bwuh? 30.1%? That is one wacky formula. >_< Apparently so, Toph. Bel certainly is. |
| #561KrikaDec 28, 2009 15:23:50 | And according to Ara, THe sculptor is, so thats two.. Yay for deaths #2 and #3! |
| #562ArmisaelDec 28, 2009 15:32:31 | I leave for an interview, and when I come back I get greeted by "CASUALTIES!". Great. ![]() |
| #563lord_mephistophelesDec 29, 2009 16:19:29 | Hey guys, I have returned. Sorry for my extended absence. I was going to join up again when the forum switched over and for the longest time I couldn't get my profile thing to work, so I sort of went off for awhile... But now I'm back and I managed to fenagle it into working. |
| #564angelofthenightDec 29, 2009 20:06:59 | good to have you back meph |
| #565lord_mephistophelesDec 29, 2009 20:33:49 | This is my official "posting interest" post. Hurray for me! |
| #566veokDec 29, 2009 20:36:02 | I believe there is an open domain still. (Or did Timmy grab the last one?) |
| #567lord_mephistophelesDec 29, 2009 20:53:53 | What domain would that be (assuming it's not already taken by Timmy) |
| #568ArmisaelDec 29, 2009 20:54:43 | Storytelling I believe. |
| #569lord_mephistophelesDec 29, 2009 21:04:22 | Storytelling huh? Well, that would be an interesting domain to start with, assuming it's not taken already. Man, is there a way to tell if people are online are not? Cause I sure can't tell. |
| #570ArmisaelDec 29, 2009 21:08:29 | You can check if someone is browsing the same thread as you are at the bottom. Anything more requires profile-checking, I believe. |
| #571shadowhntr7Dec 29, 2009 21:12:40 | Hello, oh person I don't know. ![]() Storytelling is...hopefully still up for grabs. We had an one-post newb post once with it, saying he created a plane or something...and he was a grizzled adventurer who raised the other adventurers that don't exist...something to that effect. So, HOPEFULLY we can say "sure, have storytelling!" Ask Toph or Ara, because Other-Shadow would likely say no. ;) |
| #572ff6shadowDec 29, 2009 22:04:45 | AngeloftheNight, Guide actions cost an additional PP during Age 2. Please edit your post to reflect that additional cost. |
| #573veokDec 30, 2009 23:54:13 | @Anubis. You should come into the mibbet chat room more often. We have lots of fun speculating about "OOoooh! Anubis is viewing the thread! Anubis is viewing the thread!" |
| #574AnubisDreadDec 31, 2009 0:00:18 | Well, I currently don't have a computer, since I'm out of town. I have to use my sisters laptop whenever I do something, and most days I'm lucky to get enough to time to make an IC post in. But I'll try to hop on more often |
| #575ff6shadowDec 31, 2009 21:39:34 | Krika, Balance is a greater domain, not a moderate. |
| #576ArmisaelDec 31, 2009 23:19:05 | Hey Hunter, Durenghast has disappeared. He's run away. >_> |
| #577shadowhntr7Jan 01, 2010 9:31:41 | Yeah, I know. >_> |
| #578TophehJan 02, 2010 1:07:15 | Hey guys, almost done with my trip. First thing on my docket for when I am settled again is to put together the tech web. Turn update should be on time tomorrow, but at the moment, nothings changing. See you all then! |
| #579TophehJan 02, 2010 1:54:26 | Oh, Veok. Are you actually dead or is the sculptor coming back? |
| #580shadowhntr7Jan 02, 2010 8:35:30 | Judging by a small private text box Veok posted, I'd assume she's getting better. |
| #581veokJan 02, 2010 10:31:31 | What hunter said. But it also means I'm eschewing PP for the moment. |
| #582shadowhntr7Jan 02, 2010 12:00:46 | Fulrit could always spend it, yeah? Or indirect actions, like nourishes. |
| #583veokJan 02, 2010 19:33:45 | You're missing the point -- with the advent of age 2, PP Expenditure / tracking simply ceased to be fun for me. So I'm making do without (the alternative being not playing at all). |
| #584shadowhntr7Jan 02, 2010 20:01:03 | Ah...apparently Age 2 is lasting at least one more week, unfortunately. So please hold while the age is being forwarded. ![]() |
| #585ff6shadowJan 02, 2010 20:37:08 | Where did you get one more week hunter? I beleive my quote was for another two weeks . . . and that isn;t set in stone, so nobody get any ideas. Also, in case anyone waiting in the wings missed it, or has failed to join the LoC group so they could get broadcasts, Storytelling has been rereleased. PM me to claim it. |
| #586shadowhntr7Jan 02, 2010 22:05:23 | Yay! I have another kid to abuse! |
| #587ff6shadowJan 02, 2010 23:02:07 | Storytelling has been claimed . . . . by Aradeia. Broadcast for the re-released Balance domain coming out n about 4 minutes. |
| #588AradeiaJan 02, 2010 23:09:31 | Thank you shadow .Name: Cru Domain: Storytelling Appearance: A small creature, roughly child sized, though distinctly un-child-like. Looks like numerous peices of burlap and other materials stitched together and stuffed with some unknown material to form a humanoid form. It is unknown what his face looks like, for he is terribly embarrassed by it, and covers it with a mask that is impossible to remove by any but him. He changes his mask quite frequently, however, reflecting his changing moods and desires. Symbol: A mask, any mask. Also, small dolls made out of anything the worshipper has handy works well too. |
| #589ff6shadowJan 03, 2010 10:12:38 | Lord_Mephistopheles is now the proud new owner of the Balance Domain, and via it, a shared part of the Water domain. |
| #590lord_mephistophelesJan 03, 2010 10:17:02 | Name: Kel'Zora Domain: Balance Physical Appearance: Kel'Zora as a tall faceless humanoid with smooth black skin like stone. He wears thick leather clothing made of unidentifiable animal hide, and carries a large double bladed axe. He also wears a long cape that seems to be made from the same kind of stone as his skin, Symbol: A skull with no features broken in half |
| #591ArmisaelJan 03, 2010 23:23:39 | If I may say so, that was a damn awesome post, Anubis. Really juicy campaign hook to use if the World Eaters emerge later on. |
| #592AnubisDreadJan 03, 2010 23:42:54 | Well thank you kindly, armisael ^_^ Honestly they're inspired by a fair few things... chiefly though they're sort of a combination of two warhammer 40,000 races. Tyranids in that they travel from world to world devouring everything, and space orcs in their spore based life cycle. Though I have no idea how true they are to the space orc spores, I don't actually play and the brief time I did I never encountered them heh ^_^; |
| #593ArmisaelJan 03, 2010 23:45:53 | They DID give me a Tyranids vibe, actually. Interesting to see a non-cliché spin on them. PS: BTW, could you log into Mibbit? There's something that needs to be discussed. |
| #594shadowhntr7Jan 05, 2010 6:35:05 | Haha, awesome. I come back and find 35 posts new since the morning. ![]() Sorry I was gone all day, I had work and then went to a friend's house till midnight. |
| #595ArmisaelJan 05, 2010 15:33:41 | Uhm...is Mibbit down for anyone else? I can't seem to get into it. |
| #596AradeiaJan 05, 2010 18:12:29 | Yeah, the whole website doesn't seem to be working for me. I just get an error message. |
| #597ff6shadowJan 05, 2010 18:16:16 | It just booted the whole room . . try again Aradeia, we've gotten back on. |
| #598shadowhntr7Jan 06, 2010 23:36:42 | This here is a bump. No bottom-pagers for us! |
| #599AradeiaJan 07, 2010 19:27:41 | Yeah! We deserve to be at the top. ![]() ..... *Bump* |
| #600aboleth11Jan 08, 2010 9:34:51 | Y'know, there is a bump smiley. It's :/bump: (without the slash) and it looks like this ![]() |
| #601AradeiaJan 08, 2010 21:39:03 | So... like this? :bump Damn... this maybe? /bump Ugh... ![]() Oh! There we go, all good ![]() |
| #602shadowhntr7Jan 08, 2010 22:53:10 | Heh, silly Ara, are for kids!Does anyone have any ideas for new epic races? I don't really know of anything in the manuals that I'd like to make, but I want more regardless. ![]() |
| #603AnubisDreadJan 09, 2010 0:32:58 | Hm, epic races, epic races... my books aren't with me at the moment (I'm moving... so apologies if I can't contribute as much as I usually do for a little while ^_^; ) but there must be a bunch. Formidians are epic aren't they? Or are they paragon... are hydras sentient? I suppose that's redundant, it's LoC, we could just make them so heh... angels haven't been made yet have they? Nor have death giants, I've been meaning to make them myself but I can't think of a reason for them yet. |
| #604TophehJan 09, 2010 2:44:17 | I'll join you in some death-titany goodness, anubis! |
| #605AnubisDreadJan 09, 2010 5:42:33 | I'm down with that, as soon as a good IC reason pops up. Incidentally, anyone want to volunteer to have their races brains eaten by Ithillids? It functions like trade due to the 'inspired' babbling Ithillid technology before they turn... albeit trade where one eats the others brains... |
| #606KrikaJan 09, 2010 6:27:55 | Eh, my Quori and your Illithids could have something in common to work around, considering that they both are mental juggernauts. Their goals might even align, although I have no idea what the Illithids goals ARE. It wouldn't be brain-eating, but still, its something. |
| #607ff6shadowJan 09, 2010 11:06:57 | I'd offer some dragons, ANubis, but . . being dragnsl I don't think it would end well for either side. :P |
| #608AnubisDreadJan 09, 2010 14:59:13 | Hm, that is a rather good idea Krika, but unfortunately the Ithillid are incredibly xenophobic, so I can't see that working out too well... and that's true shadow, unfortunately the Ithillid would probably choke trying to swallow a dragon brain :P |
| #609ff6shadowJan 10, 2010 0:45:46 | If they didn;t choke on the breath weapons first ;) |
| #610TophehJan 10, 2010 3:08:30 | now thats an interesting idea. Who wants to make the kirby-race? |
| #611ff6shadowJan 10, 2010 9:17:03 | ff6shadow glares at Chapien "You had to ask?" Does sound interesting though. |
| #612veokJan 10, 2010 12:01:10 | So uh... Hey. I found out that I had already made the Frost Archons. So... maybe Kel'zora wants to make something else? (I thought he had made elementals, not archons) |
| #613veokJan 12, 2010 16:03:25 | New Addendum: @Toph -- Is Casaka in the Northern or Southern hemisphere of Yrie? It's kinda important... |
| #614chapienJan 12, 2010 17:37:37 | now thats an interesting idea. Who wants to make the kirby-race? Is this a necessary question? (>'.')>(^'.'^)<('.'<) |
| #615TophehJan 12, 2010 20:02:22 | They're actually nearly on the equator... the north side of the equator. Barely any land on Yrie is south of the equator. |
| #616TophehJan 14, 2010 21:14:04 | Hey guys, I'd like to ask a favor from people. Last game and for the first couple months of this game I served as game historian, writing down a summary of the week's events so that new players could join the game without having to read through the entirety of the IC thread. Unfortunately, my schedule has become much busier than it was last summer, and I have fallen quite far behind. I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help me catch up. Basically, it would involve reading the thread, picking out important events, making a list of those and then turning the list into a paragraph or two to describe what happened that week. If anyone is able to help, I'd be very very appreciative. Thanks! |
| #617AldiiJan 15, 2010 10:19:39 | Gah :S I am gone for a couple of weeks and just look at the threads.... Hundreds after hundreds of posts... |
| #618aboleth11Jan 15, 2010 10:23:07 | I was afraid something had happened to you. I de-nourished the dhorem three or four times and you didn't do anything awful to me ;). |
| #619TophehJan 15, 2010 10:41:07 | Aldii! you live! Hooray! And only hundreds? At the rate we were going, it certainly feels like thousands. (psst, aboleth, you shouldn't have mentioned the denourishes! she might not have noticed!) |
| #620AldiiJan 15, 2010 10:45:49 | Hmm...I seriously doubt that I will be able to rejoin LoC to much has happend by now. Hi everyone by the way! |
| #621shadowhntr7Jan 15, 2010 11:02:05 | Don't say that, if you don't make yourself a target I'll keep being everyone's scapegoat! Also welcome back. |
| #622ff6shadowJan 15, 2010 12:14:58 | If it's any consolation, Aldii, I just took the last of the DHorem away from Yrie, so they could survive. ;) And there is always the "wake up from a deep sleep with no idea whats going on" strategy to run with if you want to wake up. Or join the waiting list for a new god/goddess. |
| #623aboleth11Jan 15, 2010 17:55:22 | Crap, there goes my food source ![]() |
| #624ff6shadowJan 15, 2010 18:02:27 | Damn straight. They were about to be existinct. 1 PP left and all. And Aboleth, never see you in chat anymore. Where you been? |
| #625veokJan 15, 2010 18:34:29 | Toph, if I could talk to you in chat somewhere along the line, I'd be appreciative. |
| #626ff6shadowJan 15, 2010 19:02:33 | Aboleth, you cannot use an artifact in the same turn you made it. Your fountain won;t be usable until Sunday. Please edit that part of the expenditure out of your post. Also, you may want to comment on how your creatures are dealing with the undead menace swarming over Yrie :P |
| #627AldiiJan 15, 2010 19:22:04 | There we go ![]() Maibe is back as a baby! I would appreciate it if someone would be willing to pick her up and raise her, it will probably give you a free ally for a couple of weeks! |
| #628veokJan 15, 2010 19:24:09 | I am on it! You can count on me! /salute! |
| #629AnubisDreadJan 15, 2010 19:25:50 | Hmmm, raising a baby god ally... ![]() I kid I kid, I doubt the Silent One is exactly the kind of parent Maibe would go for. Also, welcome back Aldii. Sorry about the whole ravaging Yrie with an army of undead thing... wow, Yrie is pretty bad off and the demons haven't even come yet... |
| #630AldiiJan 15, 2010 19:28:13 | I am just glad that people actually does something with Yrie ![]() It would be nice though if someone could add all of these massacres and so forth to it´s wiki page! |
| #631AldiiJan 15, 2010 19:29:13 | Though if a baddie raises Maibe she will probably become a baddie! I just wants to play something else than an overprotective psycho mother ![]() |
| #632ff6shadowJan 15, 2010 20:22:56 | The Sovereign of Sorrow would do it . . but she's no where near Yrie at the moment. |
| #633aboleth11Jan 15, 2010 20:57:58 | I'll do it! EDIT: Never mind ![]() |
| #634shadowhntr7Jan 15, 2010 21:03:26 | I think we can all agree that would be a bad idea. |
| #635aboleth11Jan 15, 2010 21:04:28 | Damn straight. They were about to be existinct. 1 PP left and all. And Aboleth, never see you in chat anymore. Where you been? Busy I have a lot more time now that the holidays are over, though.Aboleth, you cannot use an artifact in the same turn you made it. Your fountain won;t be usable until Sunday. Please edit that part of the expenditure out of your post. OK. I will re-post it tomorrow. |
| #636TophehJan 15, 2010 23:18:26 | Yes, please! SOMEONE do something with the other races on Yrie. |
| #637TophehJan 16, 2010 3:13:33 | Hmm... this didn't quite turn out as planned, but finally the trade connections are up. Look for the actual techs tomorrow... I'm exausted ![]() images1.wikia.nocookie.net/loclightvoid/... |
| #638nerdzulJan 16, 2010 8:14:47 | Back for a short while ;) Welcome back aldii btw :p hehe I liked Maibe, shame she is no more.... ![]() nice map toph, btw there are three aszhari "nations" now, the dominion that is an organized nation, a loose and nameless federation of hunting clans that are close allies with the spirits and the Hand of Ranjan that is a a sect of blood priest with the Jeraca (vampiric living azhari) as armies. |
| #639TophehJan 16, 2010 15:36:41 | Ah yes, the clans. thanks for reminding me. How... connected are those three nations? |
| #640veokJan 16, 2010 16:01:37 | Vlumbra Aegis should be up there too -- it's just not connected to anything. XD |
| #641TophehJan 16, 2010 17:29:21 | Oh, Veok... that PM I sent you yesterday, I figured it out. I had them under another name. And... up there are things that have connections... we have something like 70 populace-groups now, but as 50+ are races, I'm not including them (unless they have techs) or anything without connections... it'd be WAY too convoluted. You've seen the list that developed last game ![]() |
| #642TophehJan 17, 2010 3:41:49 | Oh, right. If anyone is about wanting to join the game, the Law domain is now available for the taking. PM me to claim. |
| #643TophehJan 19, 2010 5:19:49 | Hey guys, lets watch out for OOC information creeping into our IC posts. I know that Shadow plays both Fury and Sorrow (not to mention the other three), but in game they are wholly separate entities... a family, if you will. Sorrow is the most powerful after taking on Lohak's spark and is considered the oldest emoticon. To say that Sorrow destroyed Yrie is untrue. While Shadow did spend the PP, it was Fury, not Sorrow that was present at the time (I will note that PP expenditures are also somewhat OOC information. While yes, Fury was the one that spent the PP to blow the planet, IC, the fault meanders from Ravnos to Anubis to Fury). Saying that Sorrow is the 'source of all our problems' is pushing it as well, although I let it slide at the time as it came in the midst of a wall of posts reacting to it. If the Harbringer didn't know anything about the emoticons before Anubis told him about them, then by what Anubis said, the Harbringer has no way of knowing that Sorrow is nominally 'in charge.' |
| #644ArmisaelJan 19, 2010 8:16:57 | The idea of emoticons instead of emotions deeply amuses me. :P |
| #645ff6shadowJan 19, 2010 9:38:11 | I'm going to state this flat oout now; IC, Fury did not destroy Yrie. He was present at Yrie when I spent the PP, but the PP was merely the natural result of Anubis's spell drawing to it's natural conclusion; the reanimation of a corpse far too ancient and decayed to handle it. Fury's intended action (enraging the trolls into attacking the titans) never had a chance due the the critical timing of Yrie's ancient body awakening. And of course, being so old and decayed, it ccouldn't handle the stress, imploding on itself. |
| #646TophehJan 19, 2010 9:53:33 | Sure, although by being there, Fury does make himself a suspect. Much as Sku'Byss would be a suspect or Anubis or Veok or myself. I could see someone making an argument that his aura was the true cause for the shaking apartedness of Yrie. Its the transferrance of guilt to another, completely independent character that I wanted to point out and nip in the bud. |
| #647veokJan 19, 2010 11:35:12 | I'm going to state this flat oout now; IC, Fury did not destroy Yrie. He was present at Yrie when I spent the PP, but the PP was merely the natural result of Anubis's spell drawing to it's natural conclusion; the reanimation of a corpse far too ancient and decayed to handle it. "I had Fury Spend the PP to destroy Yrie, but Fury didn't do it" Seriously? I might buy "Fury didn't destroy Yrie intentionally", but he is still the most culpable. |
| #648AldiiJan 19, 2010 13:11:06 | Was a die rolled for my attack? Or was it simply ignored? |
| #649veokJan 19, 2010 13:30:55 | @Aldii no combat rolls have occured yet (to my knowledge) @ Aboleth; regarding your last post, I was under the impression that the lunar striders were extinct because of The Silent One's worldeaters. |
| #650ff6shadowJan 19, 2010 13:55:38 | I'm going to state this flat oout now; IC, Fury did not destroy Yrie. He was present at Yrie when I spent the PP, but the PP was merely the natural result of Anubis's spell drawing to it's natural conclusion; the reanimation of a corpse far too ancient and decayed to handle it. Thats just it. A PP expenditure doesn;'t mean you did something. It means you paid for a mechanical effect to occure.I could pay 1 PP to de-nourish the Grotto of Verda right now, even though nothingof mine is there, and say it was a drought. It meant that iut happened, not that I had anything to do with it. And Fury spent the PP, because I'm treating each of them as their own being, even if they own the slightest aloleghiance to Sorrow. Fury spent the power, but he didn't actively do anything. And no, combat rolls are delayed for 24 hours to allow others to aid one side or another. Edit: Aboleth, Lunar Striders are exstinct, courtesy of Anubis's World Eaters. Additionally, you can move your rqaces to the mopon free of cost in this situation. |
| #651TophehJan 19, 2010 16:51:25 | Ara'll be rolling, I think. |
| #652AradeiaJan 19, 2010 20:49:30 | She'll be rolling as soon as she catches up and gets Invisible Castle to load properly.... |
| #653AradeiaJan 19, 2010 21:35:24 | Well here are the rolls for the three separate battles people: Sorrow: 2d16+4d8+2d4+11=44 vs. Veok: 4d16=48 Sorrow: 2d16+4d8+2d4+11=46 vs. Maibe: 4d16+8=39 Sorrow: 2d16+4d8+2d4+11=46 vs. Zo-Att: 2d16+4d8=47 |
| #654nerdzulJan 20, 2010 8:30:42 | Can I move my 2 races + 1 spawn to some other place without having to pay half a week worth of points just because ff6shadow decided to blow up a world (without taking the blame...) |
| #655MechaliburJan 20, 2010 14:40:43 | Can I spend 4 PP and say that Verda spontaneously explodes, since it appears I can do that without taking blame? ![]() |
| #656nerdzulJan 20, 2010 14:44:52 | Hehe Mecha I was going to make quite a similar post, but I'm thinking about a random world, maybe I'll roll that on invisible castle (so I can say it was fate that decided :p)... and I'm at 4 points now |
| #657shadowhntr7Jan 20, 2010 15:48:09 | Or, y'know, we could de-create each of the emoticons. Seriously, though? I agree with you guys about the destroying things because you can get away with it... this is all utterly ridiculous. "You feel the way I say you feel, and also you can't blame me for something I did(n't) do." |
| #658ArmisaelJan 20, 2010 16:43:39 | Well here are the rolls for the three separate battles people: The house always wins, I see. >_> |
| #659veokJan 20, 2010 17:28:53 | Well here are the rolls for the three separate battles people: What's funnier is that Ara tried to cheat (I'm joking :P ) by giving me a disadvantageous roll.... and I still beat him. :D Or, y'know, we could de-create each of the emoticons. Agreed. |
| #660AradeiaJan 21, 2010 17:20:13 | Well here are the rolls for the three separate battles people: Damnit V, you caught me. ;) Or, y'know, we could de-create each of the emoticons. ...No comment. ![]() |
| #661AradeiaJan 23, 2010 23:21:54 | RESET POST!!! (The capitals mean I'm yelling) Okay, so, either out of extreme laziness, forgetfullness, an unwillingness to search through old posts, an intense desire to be unique, and/or all of the above, this reset post will be unlike all the other reset posts that came before it. Hooray for individuality! This is a reset post. If you don't know what that is, the what the hell are you doing playing this game! Get out! Out I say! But I digress, this is a reset post. If you don't know what that is, then go find out, cause I'm certainly not going to tell you. Go ask your mother. Or your dog. Or better yet, don't ask anyone, and just sit there, nodding and smiling, and pretend that you know what the hell I'm talking about. Trust me, it'll be easier for everyone. So now for a list of random names and numbers. I am not going to tell you what they mean, which means that you are going to have to guess. You can pretend that they are some sort of grocery list. Or maybe a list of children who are part of some sort of skewed educational system. Please, whatever you do, don't start assigning random meanings to these numbers. That is a sign of a severe mental disorder. Wow, I just realized how offensive that could be interpreted as being. Please don't hate and/or sue me. If either of those things happen, kindly enter your complaints below, and I will either suggest to you where you can shove your complaints, or retract my statement at once, depending on how I'm feeling at the time. So, without further ado, the list: 1.3 Dvrgr (1.3%) 1.15 PP: Lohak (92.1), Brinn (89) Eschal (84.6), The Silent One (67.3) Zo-Att (41.3), The Sculptor (12.9), Shry (9.7), Ymalos (3.9) 1 PP: Maibe (88.6), Sku'byss (82.7), Nenneve (77.2), Cru (39.1), Durenghast (36.1) Now, make of them what you will! Huzzah! |
| #662MechaliburJan 24, 2010 10:15:58 | ... o_O Does your keyboard have a backspace button? |
| #663veokJan 24, 2010 11:37:40 | My last action might be invalid. I can't find record of Lohak ever creating The Heart of Chaos as something separate from the Elemental Chaos... Edit: Found it, post 901. It's not listed in the wiki PP expenditure page though. |
| #664TophehJan 24, 2010 11:46:52 | Here: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... |
| #665AradeiaJan 24, 2010 12:48:59 | ... o_O Okay, let me just say that I was very tired when I wrote that, and thus can not be held accountable for my behaviour. Also, after the way I was acting on the chat last night, are you really surprised? |
| #666shadowhntr7Jan 24, 2010 13:20:09 | Hm, that's wierd. Heart of Chaos has been added.. |
| #667ff6shadowJan 24, 2010 16:48:33 | Veok, the corpse of Lohak is gone with the plane. It's not there to be found. As with the Tomb, it only existed due to being within the demi-plane. |
| #668veokJan 24, 2010 17:21:49 | And I spent PP to ensure that the things within the demi-plane survived the destruction. What's the problem? |
| #669ff6shadowJan 24, 2010 17:25:55 | I don't see any PP deidcated to any such thing. I see 2 to blow it up and 2 to have the area flourish. Which part indicates that the tomb and/or the remains shoul still exist? |
| #670veokJan 25, 2010 13:01:16 | The Nourishes. I've hopefully reworded the expenditure listing to better reflect my intent (If you have an idea to use something other than "Nourish" I'm all ears.) The point is, I've left the whereabouts of Lohak's remains undetermined; If Lohak's remains aren't there, they just aren't there, not because I destroyed them. |
| #671TophehJan 26, 2010 20:36:18 | Okay, it took me far too long and I apologize for not getting on this sooner, but here are the techs. loclightvoid.wikia.com/wiki/Techs_by_Nat... I'll probably be updating it once a week along with the weekly reset as thats when I put together everything that happened for that week. Next up, catch up with the game history... still taking volunteers to help with that ;) Moondoggy says hi, as well. |
| #672aboleth11Jan 27, 2010 10:29:02 | Doggy!? Where'd you see Doggy? |
| #673TophehJan 27, 2010 15:12:47 | He called me... we swapped phone numbers before he had to dissapear. He says he's looking forward to being back with the rest of us but that he's going to be gone a little while longer while he gets things settled. |
| #674aboleth11Jan 28, 2010 9:49:22 | YAAAAAAAAY!!! |
| #675aboleth11Jan 29, 2010 10:29:32 | I need admin approval to make an underdark on Raktem. |
| #676TophehJan 29, 2010 10:46:40 | Well, you don't really need it (should be a 3 PP action at most), but you have it. Underdarkize away! |
| #677ff6shadowJan 29, 2010 12:43:53 | Aboleth, 3 things A) There is a button that allows you to delete your posts. Clear the extra. B) Anubis exterminated the Lunar Striders. They don't exist anymore. C) 4 PP Actions (should be labeled as Mold Land (Superior)) are forbidden without admin approval. Yes, Toph approved, but if you read his entire post, it's feasible as a 3 P action, not a 4. |
| #678TophehJan 29, 2010 15:14:36 | Okay, thats odd. I know I added it... actually, a lot of races are missing from this. Must be an old one... Oh, yes, it is an old one. I forgot to upload the new one. Not on my computer at the moment, but I'll upload it tonight or most likely tomorrow after reset. |
| #679aboleth11Jan 30, 2010 9:55:18 | Aboleth, 3 things A) That button doesn't always work for my CPU. B) When and how the hell did he do that? C) Why should it be a 3 PP if I want it to cover the whole planet? |
| #680veokJan 30, 2010 10:26:34 | A) Try a different browser, or different settings within your browser. Your *computer* should not be the issue, but your browser might be. B) He had the World Eaters land on the moon a while back. Search for his posts with World Eaters to find the exact date/time. |
| #681TophehJan 30, 2010 16:04:38 | B part 2) Its January 6th. C) Your moon is not a 4PP structure, its only 3PP... so a 4 PP underdark would be larger than your entire moon! and in an unrelated note, talked to Moondoggy again and he told me to pass along the number he can be reached if anyone wants to talk with him. I don't really want to be posting it here where everyone can see it, but if anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send it back to you. He sounds like he could use some people to talk with. Reset might be a little bit late tonight... doing 'online office hours' for my kiddlings and don't know how insane that's going to be. |

| #683TophehJan 30, 2010 23:20:40 | Hey Aboleth, So... its not on the wiki (sorry), but as it turns out, you don't need to teach individual classes to races anymore. If you want to exchange that tech for something else, feel free. |
| #684shadowhntr7Jan 31, 2010 6:53:22 | Ah spoon it! I forgot I was that close to the next PP mark. ![]() |
| #685flyingfoxJan 31, 2010 7:09:46 | Is it too late to join? Name: Lorra Domain: Storytelling Physical Appearance: A teenage peasant girl with torn and dirty clothes but is very beautiful. She has white skin, black eyes and vivid ginger hair. Symbol: Her black eye. |
| #686KrikaJan 31, 2010 8:28:28 | Yah, storytelling has already been taken. I'm not sure, but I don't believe that there is any domains available right now. |
| #687shadowhntr7Jan 31, 2010 9:36:18 | Law domain is available, actually. |
| #688TophehJan 31, 2010 9:36:34 | Actually, there is one available... I made a god of law a week ago that hasn't been claimed yet. You interested? We'd love to have you. *changes first post* bad Toph, Bad! ![]() And hunter... yeah. I was hoping you'd be around last night so I could tell you to spend a SINGLE PP more ;) |
| #689shadowhntr7Jan 31, 2010 11:26:35 | Would editting my post work? ;) |
| #690TophehJan 31, 2010 11:39:53 | haha. No :P And in fact it would probably make me ignore it entirely in next week's roundup of PP, so its a bad idea all around. Techs and Trades are updated. I'll try and get some of the actual story done today as well. Then, when thats done... hmm, don't know what I'll do then. Anything else people want tracked or the like with the game? EDIT: My bad folks. Just realized I let a few races slip into the overall trade web between the Grotto/Casaka/etc,etc... table is fixed now. |
| #691aboleth11Jan 31, 2010 15:03:32 | I don't feeling like rewriting the post so I deleted it. Are there any other rules I should know about? ![]() |
| #692TophehJan 31, 2010 15:13:47 | Umm... no(?) Again, really sorry about that one. maybe I should just upload the entire document we worked out to the wiki and then we'll all be most assuredly on the same page. In fact, yeah, I think I'll do that. Look for it later today on the front page of the wiki. |
| #693aboleth11Jan 31, 2010 19:58:38 | Just kidding, it's fine. It would be a good idea to do that, though. |
| #694TophehJan 31, 2010 20:17:21 | Hey, at least its something minor and beneficial like 'oh, you already get that for free' rather than something like 'oh, right... my bad. If you don't nourish a populace at least once a week it dies. Sorry!' *chuckles* That at least would cut down on the number of populaces we have floating about... For those who want to know, 126 populaces have been formed... Shape or Modify populace actions have been performed. Current Stats: 23 nations, 103 races. Breakdown of PP actions to date: 29 Ascended Exarchs, 29 ascended gods, 7 attacks on other gods, 62 claimed domains, 113 made artifacts, 24 planes, 2 unsupressions of domains (heh), 1 deascend Exarch, 2 decreate artifacts, 1 decreate plane, 4 demold land, 3 denourish land, 13 denourished populi, 1 despawned creature, 23 give actions, 94 guided populi, 6 modified artifacts, 11 modified lands, 1 modified planes, 48 modified populi, 12 modified spawn, 49 mold land, 49 nourish land, 138 nourish populi, 57 shape populi, 68 spawned creatures and 3 spawned templates for a grand total of... 845 actions! Yes, I am quite bored on day 2 of my office hours ;) |
| #695aboleth11Jan 31, 2010 20:20:44 | That's a joke, right? |
| #696TophehJan 31, 2010 20:23:32 | That I am bored yet unable to actually spend time writing a fun post because instead I must check back every 45 seconds to see what 5 additional questions I have been asked? Yeah, thats not a joke. And no, you don't have to nourish your populi every turn |
| #697veokJan 31, 2010 21:28:00 | So what you're really saying is we need to ascend a god of entropy who's goal is to start de-creating everything that hasn't been touched in months? ^.^ |
| #698AnubisDreadJan 31, 2010 21:30:45 | I probably shouldn't be proud of this, but hooray for having de-spawned the only creature in the game ![]() |
| #699veokJan 31, 2010 21:33:33 | I probably shouldn't be proud of this, but hooray for having de-spawned the only creature in the game *sticks tongue out* 6 of the 6 modify artifacts are MINE! :3 (Maybe only 5) Actually, is modify == duplicate? If not... aww.... |
| #700nerdzulFeb 01, 2010 9:54:00 | btw about the techs, the tos'arai have deathstell forging (F) and necromancy too (and same the crusade of sorrow), I have added that to the table but somehow got erased a while ago. |
| #701TophehFeb 01, 2010 10:03:35 | Probably because I find it easier just to replace the whole table every week rather than try and change each entry ;) *looks at each table and makes sure they both match up*... Next week's update won't delete stuff like that. |
| #702KrikaFeb 01, 2010 14:06:55 | Arm, are you refering to the Beholders in the gas planet, or those that live under Quori domination in the Isles? |
| #703TophehFeb 01, 2010 22:36:27 | Hah. Yes, my question as well. They'd act... very, very differently ![]() |

| #705ArmisaelFeb 03, 2010 7:09:11 | The Quori slaves, since I don't think Durenghast has managed to move to another set of islands. :P |
| #706TophehFeb 03, 2010 9:29:59 | One sleepwalking beholder-ful conversation coming right up, then! FlyingFox, feel free to start posting at any time. You'll have 6 PP when you begin and an accumulation rate of 1 PP/day. When I made law, I just kinda sent it out into the void, so you've got full rein as to how that divine energy becomes yourself. Welcome to the game! |
| #707ArmisaelFeb 04, 2010 0:26:55 | Continuing from the IC: Chappy, the whole purpose of the artifact is to protect Kahnda from outside intrusions. Physical travel is impossible if you can't phase into nonexistence at least temporarily, and the only way in or out is very unstable. What you're doing is basically saying "nuh-uh!" to the effects by creating a permanent portal...which the artifact blocks. It's like I went and implanted an Anti-Corruption artifact in the Body of Corruption, completely ignoring what it is. That's just not cool, man. ![]() |
| #708aboleth11Feb 04, 2010 9:58:49 | Flyingfox, have Leema materialize near Raktem. I could use some RPing. ![]() Does anyone have any ideas for what I should do with all my PP? |
| #709TophehFeb 04, 2010 11:23:19 | Give it to me? :P |
| #710veokFeb 04, 2010 11:58:46 | Continuing from the IC: So you're saying the Whispergate that was on Kahnda before your artifact is now unusable as well? |
| #711ArmisaelFeb 04, 2010 12:10:20 | How does the whispergate function, who made it, and how much PP was spent? I can't tell you without knowing the details of it. |
| #712veokFeb 04, 2010 13:29:25 | I made it, it connects a location to my demi-plane, The Susurrus, via a quasi-real abstraction of travel called the Crystal Highway. I've spent maybe... 12 PP+ on the network? |
| #713ff6shadowFeb 04, 2010 14:37:41 | I'm going to make an ad hoc decision on it now, and Toph Ara and I can discuss it when I'm not rushing off to work. I looked up the expenditure. It's a Mold Land (Superior) (illegal without admin approval in Age 2 anyways), that you only spent 3 PP oin (3 PP makes a Mold (Greater)). Regardless, you said it prevented physical travel and it's a mist around it. It is perfeclty viable that an artifact could surpass such an effect. It would take an artifact to prevent such a gateway, and such an artifact would prevent any and all portals that cost equal or less than the artifact. |
| #714ArmisaelFeb 04, 2010 16:23:37 | No reason why abstract travel would be blocked by it, I don't think. FF: tbh, I'm not quite sure what action has to be taken to represent a veil of nothingness that traps people who try to fly through it in a void and makes most forms of travel not work, myself. And the reason 3 PP was spent is because it is, after all, a modification of Kahnda, not the creation of a new world. If you've got any ideas on what would represent the veil better than a Modify action, I'm all ears. |
| #715ff6shadowFeb 04, 2010 22:25:46 | Anyways, as is, for the moment, we'll go with your effect blocking physical movement. That is theoretically within the posibility of a mold action. To prevent teleportation and/or artifacts from allowing access is going to take something special, and I'll be speaking to Toph or Ara at first opportunity to deteremine the specifics. |
| #716TophehFeb 04, 2010 22:44:13 | Not to rain on your parade, anubis... but you already desupressed those domains a few weeks back |
| #717AnubisDreadFeb 04, 2010 22:45:37 | I did?? I... seriously do not remember doing that o.o; This is embarrassing, when did I do that round abouts? ![]() |
| #718TophehFeb 05, 2010 0:58:35 | Would you believe november 16th? ![]() |
| #719AnubisDreadFeb 05, 2010 1:00:46 | Ohhh, I see the confusion. November 16th was when I SUPRESSED the domains. I'm UNSUPRESSING them now. |
| #720TophehFeb 05, 2010 1:02:32 | Ummm... yeah, I just saw that. Sorry... wonder how the hell I managed to get those confused! I have it specifically under 'desupress' on my expenditures... which it surely isn't. So... yes. Much desupression going on on your part. |
| #721AnubisDreadFeb 05, 2010 1:04:10 | Nah, it's my fault too, the fact you actually managed to make me doubt the fact enough to look back through it and check for myself speaks volumes in and of itself as to my recollection of the game ![]() |
| #722TophehFeb 05, 2010 1:08:00 | ;) Like how you promised me a tithe of 1/10th of your PP in exchange for using Failure? I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN THAT. |
| #723AnubisDreadFeb 05, 2010 1:09:06 | I have.. and I choose to remain having forgotten ![]() |
| #724TophehFeb 06, 2010 0:08:44 | Just to warn everyone that reset will be late tomorrow night. Expect it by the next morning, though. |
| #725ff6shadowFeb 06, 2010 13:57:05 | Well damn. . . . there goes Anubis's plans for the dragonborn. Sounded like a blast too. |
| #726AnubisDreadFeb 06, 2010 15:35:43 | Don't mean to be anal about continuity, but didn't the Sculptor change the whole 'Voiceless killed Sisters' message into 'the Sculptor is dead, Lohak did the deed' or something in order to prove a point? Also, I'm sure Nerdzuls plans for the dragonborn will be great too, actually probably fits the concept of the race a little better than my ones. |
| #727AradeiaFeb 06, 2010 15:38:12 | Oh, I thought she merely added another message to the stars, rather than change the original one. Though I suppose you could argue that, if that were true, Cru would be just as interested in the other message. Though I might be wrong altogether, in which case I'd be glad to edit my post. |
| #728AnubisDreadFeb 06, 2010 15:45:08 | Well, they did make it a 'modify' action as opposed to a 'create' action, but you'll have to ask them or shadow, I honestly can't recall exactly. |
| #729TophehFeb 06, 2010 17:11:29 | By my records, there was never an action to do it. I think it was a handwavey 'the message appears and dissappears' sort of thing. |
| #730AnubisDreadFeb 06, 2010 17:13:50 | Really? I could have sworn there was a 1PP modify in there somewhere... ah well, my memory isn't exactly the best. Though considering the little mishap not long ago neither are your records I kid I kid heh |
| #731veokFeb 06, 2010 17:24:52 | By my records, there was never an action to do it. I think it was a handwavey 'the message appears and dissappears' sort of thing. This is correct. Sorry AD. :P |
| #732AnubisDreadFeb 06, 2010 17:26:04 | No problem, my bad for being so nit picky on perceived continuity in the first place. |

| #736AradeiaFeb 08, 2010 19:37:11 | Oh don't apologize, it was hilarious. Sometimes that fourth wall deserves to be smashed. |
| #737veokFeb 09, 2010 22:26:49 | Anubis, if you are reading this, come inot the mibbit chat. I'd like to ask you a question. Otherwise, you'll be recieving a PM within 24 hours via the forums. Either way... |
| #738AradeiaFeb 09, 2010 22:29:43 | *Gasp* not the PM, anything but the PM! *Runs and hides under her bed* |
| #739veokFeb 11, 2010 19:11:16 | Anubis... Casualty means injured. (With death being a subset of "injured") *stars whoosh by* The more you know... |
| #740AnubisDreadFeb 12, 2010 2:35:10 | Oh, sorry, I was going by a definition of casualty I learned in an old video game when 10 or so ...cookie to anyone who gets the reference |
| #741veokFeb 12, 2010 16:47:19 | Does Karhedron not know about The Harbinger's intercession at Casaka? (Before everything went incoherant and kablooie?) |
| #742TophehFeb 12, 2010 16:49:37 | Oh, he knows. I just forgot to mention it. I think Karhedron is more impressed with the resilience of his people and wants to share that part of the story. If Nerdzul asks, the Harbringer will certainly come up. |
| #743AradeiaFeb 12, 2010 20:31:37 | Nerdzul, just a note, you can't teach techs with a Nourish. You taught domestication recently with a nourish. I just want to make sure that you know that you cannot do that. Teaching takes a guide, not a Nourish. |
| #744TophehFeb 12, 2010 21:07:05 | Ara, I meant to mention this to you before, but its fine. He already had the domestication tech, he was just using it. It matches up with our rules for techs ![]() |
| #745TophehFeb 13, 2010 2:36:30 | Okay, I have now tagged, if I am thinking right, EVERY single active god. So... lets get to posting again! |
| #746nerdzulFeb 13, 2010 6:05:26 | Ara, I meant to mention this to you before, but its fine. He already had the domestication tech, he was just using it. It matches up with our rules for techs yap, that was the point of the nourish :p |
| #747AradeiaFeb 13, 2010 9:15:40 | Okie, just wanted to make sure. |
| #748MechaliburFeb 13, 2010 12:32:22 | I've mentioned this before in the chatroom, but I should make it formal in the OOC thread. I'm done with LoC Everytime I post it seems more and more forced, like this is a chore rather than fun. I'd write a final post or something, but I don't really know how. Zo-Att is gone, and I have no other way to express that. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone. |
| #749shadowhntr7Feb 13, 2010 13:09:49 | I think that's a feeling probably most of us are feeling to some degree, unfortunately. You'll be missed, you crazy destroyer pervert, you. ![]() |
| #750aboleth11Feb 13, 2010 13:33:49 | Bye, Mecha. You're not that bad... |
| #751TophehFeb 13, 2010 15:51:40 | Heh, well, you *have* been doing this for many, many, many months now... its probably time for a break. Stay safe, Mecha... and don't dissapear from chat. You're too much fun to just vanish on us. I put up a new thread on our forum. I'm interested in talking about whats working and what isn't in the game. Please take a moment to post. Thanks! community.wizards.com/lordsofcreation/go... |
| #752aboleth11Feb 15, 2010 14:58:44 | So... I've kinda gotten to a dead end with Ymalos and his races sequestered away on their little planet. I was thinking that Raktem could crash into another planet. Anyone want to roleplay something on their planet? |
| #753TophehFeb 15, 2010 17:11:35 | You could reply to my emmissary... the Vok'Dar have a proposition for the Trolls that might alleviate your problem *nods* |
| #754KrikaFeb 16, 2010 7:09:38 | Is it just me, or has this game slowed to a crawl due to people not really having anything to do? |
| #755veokFeb 16, 2010 8:16:07 | Age I was great, Age II was slower, Age III is dead. Hm. |
| #756TophehFeb 16, 2010 11:58:47 | Well, then lets make something for people to do then. I vote we figure out some way to get our people moving between planets so we can have some more varied interactions. |
| #757TophehFeb 16, 2010 12:00:17 | Veok, what happened to that last post of yours? |
| #758nerdzulFeb 16, 2010 13:07:24 | Imho (in my humble opinion) Age 1 was a little booring, its high activity levels was mostly due to the intial hype and large player base... Age 2 was a little better however we kept loosing active players and finally in age 3 we are too few I wonder why btw... after all the appearance of civilization shound enhance not reduce the option for role playing... My opinion might be a little biased however since I dislike gods drama and like more to shape things :p Also we wasted the opportunity of a funny event with Yrie invasion, it might have being cooler with the gods playing their parts trough mortal proxies but with the big boom the fight was over (I never got to send my crusade of sorrow there /cry). I think that maybe recruitment or restart mighr reignite the interest (even if I'm not sure that its a good time to restart... maybe we can wait a few month for that), in game I guess we can try to introduce some kind of conflict that is not based too much on direct divine involvment for example or find a way to get players more attached to the races that they created :p |
| #759veokFeb 16, 2010 15:54:49 |
It's around. I can find it if need be. Why? |
| #760KrikaFeb 16, 2010 17:25:12 | Well, my opinion is that people have reached a stable point. There is nothing imminent that can be considered reason to post, and people don't seem to have any idea of what to do next. A couple of things gods did (not pointing fingers) seemed like they could be interesting at first, but then they sort of just got annoying/boring. Also, if somebody does something with one of their races, they can do it without any other race involved, or touched, or even noticing that it is happening. Unlike in the last game, where if one nation did something, a lot of other people would notice, and respond, which would provoke more responses, etc. People just seem to have run out of ways to make this game interesting at the moment. |
| #761shadowhntr7Feb 16, 2010 18:29:12 | Well, then lets make something for people to do then. I vote we figure out some way to get our people moving between planets so we can have some more varied interactions. Giant spaceship flowers. Did you forget about those? |
| #762AnubisDreadFeb 16, 2010 18:53:44 | I thought those were more like giant space flower fixed gun torrent type things rather than spaceships? Or am I thinking of other space flowers? As for me, I admit a lot of the reason I haven't posted much lately is real life getting in the way and burn out. I am working on trying to get a few things up and running though, like the goblins on Khendras... I think that's how it's spelled anyway |
| #763TophehFeb 16, 2010 19:43:44 | Why? Well, I was sitting down to type a response and it had vanished! Thats why! |
| #764veokFeb 16, 2010 20:57:44 | weird. SO it had. Fixed now! |
| #765shadowhntr7Feb 16, 2010 21:17:42 | They are in fact space ship flowers made specifically for interstellar travel for mortals after Yrie's explosion. |
| #766nerdzulFeb 17, 2010 6:07:03 | Hehe I have a feeling that we are going Star Treck :p (I have nothing against that :p), still so sad that we have no humans, anyone willing to contribute in shaping them (I guess that aldii stopped for good this time..) |
| #767shadowhntr7Feb 17, 2010 6:43:47 | Here's an idea, why don't we just skip making humans at all? |
| #768nerdzulFeb 17, 2010 7:34:18 | We can ofc, but still why not? |
| #769TophehFeb 17, 2010 8:59:11 | Anubis- Oh great. I *did* just invite the 'lets eat the life off of a world' people to the party, didn't I? ![]() Also, Rocktown isn't run by another Blattaria, is it? |
| #770aboleth11Feb 17, 2010 9:34:04 | You could reply to my emmissary... the Vok'Dar have a proposition for the Trolls that might alleviate your problem *nods* Could you do something again? Just this time make it a little more... noticeable. On a completely unrelated note, what do you use to make the god relationship charts? I need something like that for a campaign I'm working on. |
| #771TophehFeb 17, 2010 9:37:13 | Hehe. Yeah, it was sorta buried in there, wasn't it? Its the same proposition I'm making to these other 6 races and that I made to the Foulspawn. I use a program called Graphviz. It takes some getting used to the syntax, but once you get a handle on it, its pretty easy to use. |
| #772veokFeb 17, 2010 13:45:21 | Hehe. Yeah, it was sorta buried in there, wasn't it? Its the same proposition I'm making to these other 6 races and that I made to the Foulspawn. I've reposted the disappearing post. |
| #773TophehFeb 17, 2010 15:24:52 | And replied to. Anyone else want in on this meeting? I'm afraid I only had so much PP last night |
| #774AnubisDreadFeb 17, 2010 15:37:14 | @Toph- yes, rocktown is run by another Blattaria... which I actually put as Blattia in the wiki, yay for typoing my own race o.o; And yeah, mayyyybe not such a good idea to invite the race that considers the universe a buffet |
| #775aboleth11Feb 17, 2010 18:15:28 | I want in! |
| #776TophehFeb 17, 2010 20:30:32 | YOU ARE IN! Thats what the guy talking to your trolls wants! |
| #777aboleth11Feb 18, 2010 11:13:56 | I'm sorry. I totally missed that post. Replying... |
| #778TophehFeb 18, 2010 12:02:20 | Blah. I meant to have the Vok'Dar talk in rhymes, but I forgot. Time to make sure that that is what happens from now on. |
| #779veokFeb 18, 2010 15:10:13 | Did I miss smoething? Why are the Vok mentioning "without the need for the old susurrus? |
| #780TophehFeb 18, 2010 15:29:46 | I needed a rhyme, nothing more. |
| #781TophehFeb 19, 2010 14:31:02 | Hi All, Just to warn you, I'm going to be quite busy until tuesday, so not only will my plots languish a bit, but the reset might be delayed... you all know the drill by now, though |
| #782ff6shadowFeb 24, 2010 17:41:24 | Anubis, classes are not a guide action. Class are not taught. |
| #783AnubisDreadFeb 24, 2010 17:49:27 | Really? I thought you did teach classes, but as whole power sources? So it's less like 'goblins can now be wizards' so much as 'goblins learn to channel arcane power'. |
| #784TophehFeb 26, 2010 20:27:30 | *cough* Wow Aboleth. You *really* don't like those things, do you? |
| #785AnubisDreadFeb 27, 2010 0:13:34 | ...Aboleth, in the interest of fairness I'm going to ask that you retract that last action. Not fairness for me, fairness to you. I have more PP than you, and get 2 extra PP instead of just one every reset. I don't want the World Eaters to die, and I will nourish them back to full, then counter attack against the trolls with my 1 PP left. I don't want to get into a nourish/denourish war here, hence why I posted this warning. EDIT: Besides which, how does a mortal have the ability to channels a god's maximum power?? EDIT le EDIT: Oh, he's an exarch... still seems a bit contrived though, especially because he has no idea where any of the World Eaters he's denourishing ARE. |
| #786veokFeb 27, 2010 2:10:15 | Vengeance would have something to say about such an action as well, I'd imagine. |
| #787KrikaFeb 27, 2010 6:03:31 | Yes, last LoC proved that nourish wars are a very bad idea, so I motion for Veok to retract that last action, and you both to go on and ignore this. Note: See my short essay on this topic in the group forum if you want further reading material on how to do wars the right way. Look here. |
| #788aboleth11Feb 27, 2010 10:12:19 | *cough* I really don't like those things.
He doesn't know where they are. He is still getting used to his power. I'll take back the part about killing most of the race, if you let me kill the delegates. |
| #789veokFeb 27, 2010 12:00:52 | Yes, last LoC proved that nourish wars are a very bad idea, so I motion for Veok to retract that last action, and you both to go on and ignore this. I er... wha? |
| #790AradeiaFeb 27, 2010 13:30:13 | I think he meant to say Aboleth. But yeah, I second the suggestion to retract it, it isn't exactly sportsmanlike after all. I'm not going to tell you what to do, but you would be pretty upset if someone did the same to you. |
| #791AnubisDreadFeb 27, 2010 14:57:11 | Alright, it was pretty bad of him to wipe out all of the World Eaters like that (okay, exceptionally bad) but I might have goaded Aboleth on a little by having the World Eater regenerate even though he put PP towards destroying him... kill the delegates, they'd probably just end up eating everyone anyway EDIT: In fact, since there are only two of them and I agree with you killing them, feel free to do so without any PP Expenditure... and I think wiping out a race when you have no idea where it is is more than a little meta-gaming, but since you were retracting it anyway no harm no foul. I am a little curious though, how would you respond if the Dhorem did this to the trolls? It's practically exactly the same circumstance after all, except you were active when the World Eaters chowed down on the moon. EDIT le EDIT... again... I need to think of all these things at once, I really do: Shadow, if we don't teach classes or even power sources to races, what would be the equivalent to teaching the goblinoids divine classes? Divine Magic? Nourish a religious organization? |
| #792aboleth11Feb 27, 2010 16:17:45 | Changed it. I don't know how I would respond, cause it never came up. Aldii was OK with the trolls eating them and by the time I started trying to kill them again, she was inactive. |
| #793TophehFeb 27, 2010 19:13:23 | Reset will be a little late tonight, but... you know the drill ![]() Also, I'd like to formally propose that we scrap the current ascension system and return to the LoC2 method of self-picking domains in order to try and drum up some new blood for the game. Thoughts? Also, for any former players who are lurking, please consider coming back or at least trying to play again for a week or so. We all hit massive amounts of burnout a few weeks back, but... I think we can get this to be a ton of fun again, and I don't want to just give up on it quite yet. |
| #794nerdzulFeb 27, 2010 20:14:20 | I agree on the ascension or at least anyone interested should be able to post the domain he or she wants and then anyone can volunteer to ascend them (to keep the family three stuff going) |
| #795aboleth11Mar 01, 2010 9:44:09 | I wish that you had proposed this when I was on the waiting list... ![]() |
| #796TophehMar 01, 2010 10:03:35 | ;) That was a very, very long time ago ![]() |
| #797shadowhntr7Mar 01, 2010 10:20:40 | Bad, bad news. Dad just called me, telling me he got an email from our ISP. Apparently we went over the bandwidth allowed for last month, due to me being stuck at home for the second month in a row with absolutely nothing to do. Apparently downloading and playing WoW was a bad idea... He said that he's going to have to cut off wireless access for everyone but himself so...I'm screwed. Big time. Of course, I haven't really been interested in LoC lately, but...ugh. I am so screwed. |
| #798TophehMar 01, 2010 12:24:09 | *chuckles* So *thats* where you've been. WoW would definitely eat up your bandwidth really fast. Hope you get things worked out! |
| #799AnubisDreadMar 02, 2010 15:23:04 | 1 PP +1 (Codex): Shape Populace (lesser): Gnomes form from ants which have infiltrated the Great Library ...NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo! I kid I kid... I've had an idea for gnomes for a while, but it really didn't fit TSO's concept very well anyway. Plus I could always use.. kobolds or something if I really wanted to heh. |
| #800TophehMar 02, 2010 16:03:55 | Oh, you have? I just tried picking a race that wouldn't be high on people's list of demands... I'll change that ![]() I was the gnomes in LoC2. Variety should be... important. |
| #801AnubisDreadMar 02, 2010 16:05:58 | Don't feel you have to if gnomes are right for the concept man, I can't expect every race I want to be on the waiting list forever ;) That said, it's true you had the gnomes last LoC... what is it with you and gnomes anyway? |
| #802TophehMar 02, 2010 16:45:17 | I'm a sucker for their noses. They are now halflings. |
| #803ff6shadowMar 03, 2010 13:32:11 | Contact Anubis? Only if you want it to be. I didn't specify if Desire was visible to mortals or not, so whatever you want to do there fine. |
| #804AnubisDreadMar 03, 2010 15:52:38 | Contact it is, I've been waiting for someone to actually care about the goblins Editted my post to include Desire. |
| #805TophehMar 04, 2010 4:37:02 | So, if there's no more comment on the rule change... I'll implement it in 24 hours. Again, I proposed eliminating the ascension system for self-ascensions of self-picked domains from now on. |
| #806nerdzulMar 04, 2010 16:29:08 | So, if there's no more comment on the rule change... I'll implement it in 24 hours. Again, I proposed eliminating the ascension system for self-ascensions of self-picked domains from now on. hehe good idea :p I agree |
| #807TophehMar 04, 2010 20:21:29 | Then it is done. Making changes to all relevant places... now. |
| #808TophehMar 10, 2010 15:19:56 | Thats a good question, Aboleth. Where *do* we want to go first? I'd like to reach Verda eventually, but I was thinking of starting with Lor'quhan... mostly because Anubis and I have been talking for a long time about what might happen when an Illithid tries to eat the brain of a Manyu... or a Blattaria for that matter. Thoughts? |
| #809aboleth11Mar 10, 2010 16:53:00 | Wherever you want is fine. Prayog will happy as long as there's bloodshed. If I suggested the world eaters instead of the blighted spirits, how would webweaver respond? |
| #810TophehMar 10, 2010 20:49:02 | well, webweaver is still hoping to use them, but he might laugh at your single-mindedness and aquiesce :D |
| #811XeadinMar 12, 2010 19:37:48 | Hello, everyone. Sorry I haven't been here for quite a while-- I had to go take care of some more important things. So, how's everyone been doing? And what all did I miss during my absence? |
| #812TophehMar 12, 2010 21:24:12 | Xeadin! I was just wondering if you were ever going to show up again ![]() And... *chuckles* What haven't you missed? Its been what... four months? Make a god already! |
| #813XeadinMar 13, 2010 20:23:12 | I will in fact make one, but under whoes god should mine be ascended under? And what Domains are still available? [EDIT:] Well, I guess I could make a God of Illusions. Name: Kevmet Starting Domain: Illusion Appearance: Kevmet appears as an elderly man with a black robe that hangs down to his ankles. He has sharp, icy blue eyes and short, blonde hair that is brushed back. He has a tall physique, and has a stout attitude-- in general, he is outgoing. He is infamous for his riddles and puzzles that leaves others that he meets guessing. He is very easy to keep track of, yet nobody knows what dirty tricks he has up his sleeves. Holy Symbol: A standard rectangular shape with bevelled edges, and an illusory image that looks like an old lady at one glance, and a young woman the next. How's that, Topheh? Here's a picture of Kevmet: |
| #814TophehMar 14, 2010 4:42:32 | Looks great to me. Feel free to post anytime. You start with 6 PP and gain at a rate of 1/day. Reset has happened... I'll get updated points to everyone tomorrow... its been a long day |
| #815TophehMar 15, 2010 13:41:25 | Looks good to me, Xeadin. Welcome back ![]() And again, points are coming :\ |
| #816aboleth11Mar 17, 2010 9:52:52 | Don't mean to rush you, Toph, but could you please get the Vok storyline moving. |
| #817ff6shadowMar 17, 2010 14:58:02 | *waves at Anubis* Waiting for you, ANubis. |
| #818TophehMar 18, 2010 16:27:34 | Heh. Now that that week of doom is over, I intend to do *JUST* that. Look for a slough of posts everywhere tonight. Edit: Slight change of plans... I've been trying to think up something for the past hour and my mind is completely creavititied-out. So... 75% chance of posts happening tomorrow, not tonight. |
| #819XeadinMar 22, 2010 17:00:09 | So, I understand that there is a daily PP accumulation going on. I haven't responded in the IC Thread for about a week, so I may have 4 or 5 PP to spend-- but when resets occur, do the totals get reset to 0PP or does it not affect PP totals? So sorry to bother you guys... it's been a while since I've been on here, so I'm a little lost... again... ![]() Soft minds sometimes need a little refresher now and then, you know? ![]() |
| #820TophehMar 22, 2010 18:06:09 | Resets only affect artifacts this time around. You should have however many PP you had before + the number of days since you last spent PP. |
| #821XeadinMar 22, 2010 18:17:41 | Okay. Thanks, Topheh. ![]() And any idea how to add a god to the Wiki? I've been having trouble trying to add Kevmet to the LoC: Lightvoid Wiki... ![]() |
| #822TophehMar 23, 2010 13:01:24 | loclightvoid.wikia.com/wiki/Kevmet There you go, Xeadin! Eklu, I'm very curious as to where you're going with the goo-planet... curious and somewhat worried! |
| #823TophehApr 02, 2010 14:20:07 | Well guys, I think its time. I'm going to point at the big elephant in the room. The game is dead and/or dying, and I think its about time we wrap it up. Posting has slowed to a trickle, and I'd rather go out with some sort of planned end than watch it limp along for another month or two. So I'm thinking that next week's reset (not tomorrow, but the week after), will be the last reset, barring a sudden resurgence of interest. In that time, I'd love it if people could put some final touches on the game... put adventure seeds in, wrap up loose ends, etc, etc. After that... well, we'll wait and see. Definitely give the game a rest and let us all recover before starting another iteration. For those who want to know, these are my plans for what I'd like to do before this all is done: 1) The Vok-and-friends move on to Verda in my last post, leaving the end of the game in conflict for people to play with 2) Install and promote Ravnos as a false mouthpiece for Dvrgr 3) Really flesh out my Order 4) Create a more dynamic situation between the Quori and Eye-Kin 5) Send Karhedron searching for Kythandrin 6) Something big involving the Potentium, but... not sure what yet. |
| #824moondoggyApr 02, 2010 14:29:43 | I am aware of the world's state of affairs, but I was not informed that there was an elephant present. In the future please attempt to keep me in the loop as far as large mammals are concerned. Thank you in advance. Sincerely, The Offices of Moony St. Dogg, Esq. |
| #825aboleth11Apr 05, 2010 17:01:41 | I think that this would be a good time to wrap things up. It would give us all some time to take care of all the stuff that's keeping us from posting. Also, I agree that it would be fun to leave the whole vok war thing open for a campaign. P.S. Moondoggy! You're back! |
| #826shadowhntr7Apr 06, 2010 10:16:40 | Doesn't seem like a whole lot has happened since I had to quit, eh? Not that I really expected it to.. To be honest, I shouldn't even be on right now- my dad apparently thinks that I shouldn't have internet. Ever. ...screw him. |
| #827TophehApr 06, 2010 10:57:07 | Hunter, we miss you! Hope things get better for you soon ![]() |
| #828TophehApr 11, 2010 0:21:39 | Okay... this is the last reset of Lightvoid. I'm going to give everyone double their usual PP to wrap up any loose ends. Anyone who doesn't feel like posting anything, I'd love to have your PP... I've got a large variety of things I'd like to sprinkle throughout the universe, and I'm gonna need a little bit more PP than I have to do that. ~Toph |
| #829aboleth11Apr 15, 2010 11:51:30 | You can have all of mine. |
| #830TophehApr 15, 2010 13:23:56 | Aboleth:Spiffy! Veok: We should probably talk. I'll be on chat all day. Also, thank you for reminding me about the Blighted Spirits. I... forgot about them They live to fight another day, it would appear. |
| #831TophehApr 16, 2010 17:17:08 | Heh. I forgot how fun this could be. Now I don't want it to end ![]() Veok, here's what I'm thinking. I kill one/both of your exarchs (one being Harbringer, but I don't know that) And eat them all up. (yum!) As the 'transformation' takes place, I have something I want Webweaver to do to Cragnas. Then, the Harbringer destroys Webweaver from within and the hordes scatter. Sound good? |
| #832veokApr 16, 2010 17:19:49 | Well, my font color changed again. My intent was that Webweaver already "ate" The Harbinger (the "flesh" of Fulrit). So go ahead to step 2? |
| #833TophehApr 16, 2010 17:40:09 | We shall see... ![]() |
| #834veokApr 17, 2010 13:35:54 | Toph, I'm leaving it up to you to conclude the IoW storyline, and explicate the final fates of any other groups I've missed. |
| #835TophehApr 17, 2010 23:50:12 | Well, I somehow doubt anyone else is going to post, but as I haven't had the time to write a closing post... we'll delay the end until I do so... yes, I am quite selfish :P |
| #836TophehApr 18, 2010 21:12:21 | And with that, Lightvoid draws to a close. Thank you to everyone for playing and reading. Expect information here soon about the next iteration (name TBA) of the game, and please look at the group forums for the most up-to-date information and to contribute to the planning and rules of the next iteration. |
| #837AnubisDreadApr 23, 2010 20:35:19 | Well, finally got the courage to actually post here, so... um, yay I have... no idea how long ago it was by now since I just dropped out, but I'd just like to apologize for doing so. Especially since TSO had his hands in pretty much everything that went on, and so his lack couldn't have made things easy... I could make excuses about how I started up a new course, and how work took off, and how I suffered a huge load of burn out, but plenty of other had the same issues and kept posting (kudos to them by the way, they deserve it). At first it was a few days off to take a break, then it was longer, then I was too embarrassed to post again after such a long absence. In retrospect I probably couldn't have continued on in this LoC as I STILL have no idea wth I should have done at that point in the game, but at the very least I could have blatantly said I was dropping off the radar and written TSO out of the game instead of leaving all his actions hanging out there, not to mention the people I was interacting with at the time. So again, sorry. I hope this LoC ended up ending well despite my laziness. |

Got an idea for a rule change? Want to vote on the workings of the world? Complaint about a previous iteration of the ruleset? Come to the LoC forums (link below) and vent your opinion! community.wizards.com/lordsofcreation/go/forum/view/76181/179065/LoC4_Design This is our chance to smooth out the rough spots of the game we've all known and played! Plus, the quicker we can come to a comfortable consensus, the quicker we can launch LoC4! |
| #839TophehApr 24, 2010 2:38:23 | Heh, although it should be noted that we are going to take a nice healthy break before starting the next iteration, yes... anyone interested in helping with the process, please come to the boards. Anubis, glad to hear from you again. No worries about the burnout... such things happen. Come on chat soon, k? |
| #840shadowhntr7Apr 30, 2010 10:54:20 | It's too bad I couldn't do anything in the end of the game, but ah well. I'm still without internet, so it's not anything I can affect.. Work on Creos has been off an on, and I got a fairly interesting (in my opinion) planar setup written out. My book's up to 18 pages now, it'd be more if I wasn't a lazy bum, lol. Hopefully I'll get internet back for LoC4, I really loved it. 'specially early on. ![]() |
| #841TophehMay 09, 2010 5:36:32 | Well Hunter, you and your wiki-fu are always welcome back. Hopefully we'll see you around soon! To those wondering, planning on LoC4 is coming along nicely. If you're waiting for it to start, we hope to be ready to begin by the end of the month. |
| #842ritreaudeMay 10, 2010 19:27:47 | Hello one and all, long time no see. I was Drahthor all the way back in Lords of Creation 2 and got burned out back then because of.... well because of some things. Anyways, Im at the start of a long and boring summer where my home RP group is going to be out of town, so I thought I might swing back by and try my hand at some Deity action again. I see that my timing is pretty good, as you guys are between games at the moment. Just want to say I would be interested in playing in Lords of Creation 4 when it gets started if that is okay with everyone (notably the game moderators). |
| #843XeadinMay 14, 2010 20:28:49 | Hey, Ritreaude. Glad to see you back in the game. You did miss quite a lot (as I have... ) but I guess LoC 3 had its own problems along the way... which is normal for almost every game made. You're bound to hit some hurdles in progress. I'm in the middle of creating a couple of games myself (well, one of them is complete; the other I have yet to finish...)I've also finished my first novel- Magi Chronicles: Bashiro Prophecies. You all can view it here. Anyway, glad to hear from you again. ![]() |
