The low-down was that the powers would have DC that you would have meet, take for instance a flaming sword (you roll 2 20-sided dice one is to attack and the other one os the process check or PROC for short, the proc is set at 22m character rolls and hit monster normally, but with the proc roll rolls higher than 22 which means you can get additional damage from the sword activation and you would than add additional damage from the power. The equation is D20+dex bonus. What does others think of this? |

This could work if you balance it with higher monster HP totals approximately equal to that increase in the average damage. Or if you just want an easier or deadlier game. Or if you keep these weapons rare, like an artifact weapon. Enemies that use such weapons on the PCs should ignore the regular proc rules and instead stick with the established ruleset for monsters. This way you don't have to worry about rebalancing the PCs. IE an NPC with a fire sword would have a regular at will attack that does no proc damage, and an attack that adds proc damage and recharges on a 5 or 6. I also suggest that you instruct your players to roll their D20s simulataniously to keep up the pace. Overall though, this isn't a bad idea. |
