| #1crossedswordsMar 13, 2010 17:21:57 | The Stonemarch, a rugged land of stony hills and deep gorges cut by white-rushing rivers, is home to tribes of dangerous humanoids and giants. Orcs, ogres, giants, and trolls haunt the farther reaches of these barren lands. Fortunately for the residents of the vale, the monsters rarely come over the Cairngorm Peaks--rarely. A great orc-warren known as the Fanged Jaws of Kulkoszar lies in the northern part of the wasteland; here the chief of the Bloodspear tribe rules over hundreds of the fierce warriors that will eventually attack the Nentir Vale. If their notorious orc chieftain isn't killed, then they will have the moral to assault the vale. This must not happen.
The orc chieftain, Impaler, has ruled over the Bloodspears for many decades, until a stealthy oni mage named Tal skillfully assassinated the orc chieftain and secretly took it upon himself to rule over the Bloodspears. Tal has asked many different retrievers to acquire different types of monsters for his army that he plans will destroy the Nentir Vale and other surrounding regions. They were asked to retrieve any: goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears, ogres, minotaurs, trolls, and hill giants. The oni has also built several different apparatus' of destruction: several catapults and even a fodder cannon. Tal's progress is nearly complete and eventually he we wield an army of enormous strength. If he isn't stopped, all of the vale is forfeit. Someone must take on the challenge of defeating this deceitful oni.
Anyone is welcome to help me write encounters or suggest any other ideas for this adventure. All suggestions are appreciated.

I thinking the greater war is meaningless to Tal the Oni. He knows something about Nentir Vale, or the ancient history of that spot of land. Something great, powerful and evil.
Tal wants the army to crush the Vale. But the greater war is to push the other evil creatures onward leaveing Tal free to take the REAL prize. |
