| #1ariasilverhandsJun 08, 2008 8:35:03 | http://ariagames.net/heavens_gate_large.png This is a 10mb file. Expect to wait some time while it loads. The map is for a friend's campaign setting and it is a work in progress. I'm still dickering around with various settings and filters to try and get the lineart and text to blend better with the background. |

| #3DaybreakerJun 09, 2008 2:46:46 | That is a very cool map! |
| #4ariasilverhandsJun 09, 2008 10:32:26 | That is a very cool map! Thanks! It still needs some texture work to blend the whole thing together better, imo. And I need to replace the thin lines around the continents with black lines instead of the lighter brown lines. The world itself is pretty interesting. I can't wait to play in it. Each continent is a massive shard from a destroyed moon that has found a stable orbit in the upper atmosphere of a gas giant with earth-like conditions. |

| #6ariasilverhandsJun 11, 2008 6:59:27 | A number of programs, but mostly photoshop. |

Do you know if there is one, or possibly have the ability to create one based on this? I'd say that's a real texture scan for the base image of the paper with a bunch of stains (either procedural or scanned) with some multiplication/color burn mixing taking place (probably in the realm of 40-60% opacity) The continents are outlined with a simple selection process; Select the ocean, apply a stroke, contract your selection, second stroke, rinse and repeat. EDIT: Am I near the mark? |

I bought the background image from istockphoto. Royalty free use. ^_^ So... if anyone wants a map, I might be up to taking some commissions. I'm re-learning my old mapping techniques. |
