| #1IlaroMar 07, 2009 3:12:00 | Hey does anyone know where I can download of use an online program to create a map of my dnd world. I've heard of one where you can drag and drop trees, mountains, and things over a palet and create a decent worldsized map? Anyone know where I could find something like that, or any sites that provide map making tools? |

If you dont mind shelling out some cash, Campaign Cartographer is REALLY nice. Just all depends I guess, haha. |

It isn't Photoshop, but it is the closest thing to Photoshop I've seen. But GIMP is free, and Photoshop is a few hundred dollars. |

Anyone know where I could find something like that, or any sites that provide map making tools? You have tons of options, so I'll suggest the two I'm familiar with. One is Campaign Cartographer 3. It's a CAD-based program that uses png files to create symbols. Check out their gallery of maps. I'm still an amateur but after watching the tutorial on their website I was able to put together a decent looking map using sheet effects. The other option is to check out the Cartographer's Guild, where you can find tons of advice on mapping. I've been following the work of pasis (see the link on the homepage) in Photoshop which is absolutely stunning. Of course, this requires that you have access to Photoshop. Good luck! |
