What's always bugged me is to make maps for games you either have to make them in ASCII or by using a specialized mapping software. Both of which are a big pain in the butt! I was unable to sleep tonight and started messing around with Photoshop Elements (yeah, I know, I don't have the real Photoshop, but this gets the job done for me). I came up with a pretty snazzy map template. Here's an example Start of Encounter: ![]() First player moves: As you can plainly see, we are currently fighting: Goblin 1, Blue Bunny Goblin 2, Gray Bunny Gray Wolf, Piink Doggy Dire Ducky, Green Ducky And the party consists of: Human Paladin, Sheriff's Badge Tiefling Rogue, Black Chess Queen Elf Invoker, Hourglass Halfling Ranger, Feather Half-Elf Ardent, Puzzle-Piece Anyway, you can tell that the first person to go was the group's Human Paladin. His marker, the Sheriff's Badge moved from H3 to E4. Now he and the Halfling Rnager, the Feather, have Goblin 1, the Pink Bunny, flanked! It looks like that Goblin is in for a world of hurt! Uh oh! I just used the auto shape feature to make the enemies and players tokens. Whenever they move, they'll just tell me where they want to go, I'll move their token and we'll be able to tell where they are on the map. Here's the Map Template's photoshop file, which should worth on Photoshop Elements, regular Photoshop and probably Gimp. www.4shared.com/photo/2xGssp-V/Map_Templ... I'd love some feedback from everyone! I'm happy to keep working on the template as you give me some input. Thanks, enjoy and happy gaming! |
