| #1AdmiralRangerApr 11, 2011 2:38:48 | I am looking for a world map for middle Earth (and Arda as a whole); preferably on the internet. The closest I could find was the one made by Middle Earth RPG but I can find no high resolution images of this map. Do they exist? |

My parents' copies of the books came with maps glued into the back cover, while my later copies would only print them on two pages. I haven't bought a copy in some time, but I'm certain recent books won't have maps you can separate. Maps of the West would not be available; J.R.R. Tolkein didn't publish books about that part of the world. The Simarillion was published by his son, if I recall right. Numenor MAY have a map, but I don't recall seeing it at all. Remember, in the mythology and history of Middle Earth, the West was not someplace people would ever go save for the elves . . . and they would never return from there. Most of the adventures written about took place on the maps printed out . . . and even then, in only a few places. |
| #4Rhineglade_Apr 11, 2011 11:36:14 | There is also a nice book of maps out there called "Atlas of Middle Earth" which includes not only the Middle Earth map from the books that we all know and love but also the map of Arda (the world) during the early part of the 1st Age when it was just a large single island lit by the two lamps (no sun and no moon yet). Maps and illustrations of the Shire, the Village of Bree and even concept drawings of Angband, Thangoradrim and Numeanor, etc are also including. This book should still be available through Amazon or EBay and may even be found at larger public libraries. If you can get a hold of the out-of-print Middle Earth Role Playing (MERP) rule book, they include a very nice full color map of the entire main continent of Middle Earth including the section where most of the books take place. |
| #5KruskApr 11, 2011 13:43:19 | The Simarillion was published by his son, if I recall right. It was written by J.R.R, and edited by his son and published 4 years after his death. So the bulk of the work was J.R.R, with cosmetic changes and hole filling done by Chris. The point of that being that he wrote it, and probably would have published it eventually. |

Last time I looked at something similar it . . . would have been prime campaign source material :P Smaller maps from books and commentary on the regions as experienced by both the Dwarves (with Bilbo) and the Fellowship. |

| #8mgbeachApr 14, 2011 15:17:24 | There are a huge number of results when you do a google image search for "middle earth map". Here they are, limited to just "large" images. Do any of those fit the bill? Google Image search results for Middle Earth map |
| #9quenditarApr 20, 2011 12:23:59 | What Age are you looking for? There's a nice map "Arda Tatya Randasse" that covers all of northern Arda in the Second Age but it's hard to find a good copy (the copy linked to is not so great) and it's bilingual Quenya/Polish. |
| #10AdmiralRangerMay 04, 2011 6:54:49 | I have now got the Atlas of Middle Earth and it seems to have a good map for the second age. Thanks. |
| #11AdmiralRangerMay 14, 2011 3:46:55 | I found the map I was looking for. It can be found here. edocs.uis.edu/hadleyiv/www/images/Middle... |
| #12HobbitFanMay 16, 2011 18:52:03 | glad you found it. Middle-Earth is a great setting that I wish more people played in. My first ever D&D campaign was set in ME. I did Fourth Age after the War of the Ring. |
