The good old beautiful and nice dryad.![]() Tree Dryads are fey tree-spirits that appear in the form of beautiful female humanoids whose skin looks like bark or wood and leaves instead of hair. They defend trees against those who would cut them down and are known to sometimes charm adventurers into helping them. Each dryad is magically bound to an oak tree and can't travel farther than 300 meters from it without getting sick. Some dryads know a ritual that allows them to craft a talisman out of an acorn of their bondoak. While carrying such a talisman they are always considered to be within 300 meters of their bondoak. |

Of course, maybe I just missed something? Also, now that I am looking at it, their Regeneration 5 (A tree dryad is bonded to an oak tree. If she moves more than 300 meters away from her tree she loses Regneration 5 and instead gets Vulnerable 15 to all damage. Some dryads know a ritual to make a talisman out of an acorn of their tree that lets them circumvent this limitation.) seems to have too much fluff from my point of view, and the distance probably should be in squares. If you want to keep the fluff, you can always put it in the monster knowledge checks. Theses are just small things that make it different from the normal 4th edition monsters, it's not really game breaking, just small things. |

The recharge 5 is the way the Monster Builder beta does it at the moment, I have to enter it manually and just forgot how it was in the Monster Handbook. I don't like the fluff block in the Regeneration description either, it's there because the Vulnerable 15 is a rule (I should probably shorten it), the fluff text gets cut off when you print it out and there's no space for monster knowledge checks (that would actually be a good improvement). I'm going to post an updated version soon. |
