| #1yostageSep 20, 2008 15:06:51 | I'm running a game with four players and we started with Kobold Hall. I dropped a couple of clues about Irontooth during the wyrmpriest and dragon fights so the players are definitely looking towards Winterhaven. Right now they are in Brindol and I'm hoping they'll take the bait for Rescue at Rivenroar. (if they don't they'll probably keep going on towards Winterhaven) I'd really like to run H1 and roll back into scales of war but I have the problem that I end up with about three levels of XP too many to be on track for scales of war. I'm finding it to be useful when the players are slightly ahead of the adventure since it means my 4-man XP budget tends to line up closer to the preset adventures that way and I don't have to modify them as much. So I'm thinking about removing some of the less exciting encounters from H1 to try to reduce the total XP gain. The other way to do it might be to totally skip Bordrin's watch. Since the players are supposed to be about level 4 at the end, same as H1, that would line up conveniently. I think if I did that I'd have to significantly adapt H1 so that it fed into S3 though, since there are a lot of ties between Bordrin's Watch and the Umbraforge adventure. Has anyone tried doing that? |
