Well, every now and then, I'll sit down, watch a film and think DUDE THATS IS AMAZING.

It was the turn of Kill Bill.... again... recently... So I decided to try and work around some rules for the Meteor Hammer...

While the spiked chain is close, in actual use, its a very different weapon on the whole...

Meteor Hammer
Superior 2-handed weapon
Prof: +2
Categories: Flail, Hammer (This would allow it to qualify for all the bindy uppy feats, even though it is obviously a hammer)
Damage: 1d8
Properties: Reach, Heavy Thrown(Always returns to user's hand), Defensive

Thoughts? Because of the extra properties, I gave the damage die a real smack.

Why Defensive?  I think everything else is spot on, but I wouldn't really call the meteor hammer a Defensive weapon.  Cut that out and it'd be perfect.

...well, actually I'm also not sure about the hammer keyword.  What makes it more hammery than, say, a spiked flail?

Well, my main idea behind the defensive, is the anterior end of Meteor hammers are foten used to deflect blows or tie up the opponent's weaponry, while the primary end is used to smack them about.
And the hammer property because of the name, and the fact that it is really a heavy lump on a chain, much like a hammer head, though I suppose it could be a pure flail.

In which case it becomes miraculously close to the Spiked Chain and, on balance, I wonder why I began this exercise to begin with.
Silly me.
