I'm thinking to create a modern world campaign.
This is what i have:
world: planet earth 21st century
inhabited by: only humans (and npc of animals)
classes:
-hacker
-social engineer
-phone phreak
-programmer
-pickpocket

-doesn't use any maps of dungeons or forests, just uses buildingsmaps
-telephone and internet are one part of the monsters, feds (agents, military, fbi,...) are the other part
-great for short play or hours of playing

I need help with my classes and a good story to kick of with.

Long ago, in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil.

But a foolish samurai warrior, wielding a magic sword, stepped forth to oppose me.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time, and flung him into the future, where my evil is law.

Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku...

:D

But you should give some thought into looking at d20 modern (i think thats what its called...) for all your modern needs.

Stupid question but why D&D 4E and not something better suited like Cyberpunk V3 or Shadowrun or even d20 Modern?

because they don't have them in my area, and i can't get them somewhere close, and to order 3 books from the internet is just stupid.

But i think it isn't so hard i just need other names for the classes and skills that fit the classes but i just need help with the classes names to make them believable and people should want to play with them.
greetings,

D20 modern SRD is free somewhere around here so no book to wait for, or you can at least use the SRD until you can get your paws on the book.

The d20 modern book is just awesome in my opinion, it has most of everything you may want, including guns and a slight tank. the rules include wealth as well, which I think is a little more handy for reflecting modern day cash and credit.

here's the link for the SRD
