The trees ahead are bare like the bones of a once great forest which now lies dead and dormant buried within the mountains of the east, lying on a bed of dried and browning bristles of grass. There is no life here and for a moment you feel like turning your back on the wasteland, but something catches your eye for the smallest of moments and as you turn your head to investigate you notice a tiny mound of dirt, not the dry cracked dirt of this forsaken earth, but of dark rich soil. As you kneel down to get a closer look your nose is invaded by the perfume of fresh earth. The mound is spotted by small colorful mushrooms and to your surprise more are growing as you watch, in fact as your eyes travel upward you realize this wonder of new life is coming from the Scorched Woods aheads.However this feeling of wonder and astonishment is replaced suddenly by fear as you look upon the bare forest that is beginning to become overgrown with tendrils of thorns and caps of oversized mushrooms. The vines pulse as if beating and breathe new and corrupted life into the barrens. But that is not what causes the fear, what causes your fear is the giant spire forming from within the woods, three gigantic trees spiral around each other crawling and connecting with one another and at the tip a figure stares down towards you.But it is too late to run, your arms and legs have sunk into the pulsating ground tendrils burrowing beneath your skin and you are pulled into a maw of thorns. Something is wicked within the Scorched Woods and word of it is spreading across Tyrannor like wildfire. What is causing this intense overgrowth of fungi and flora? What is the spire with the center of it all? Who is the figure on top of the spire? ADVENTURERS! You help is being requested! Who will answer this call to arms?
