| #1orcy_the_green_wonderMay 26, 2009 0:55:09 | The world of Tyrannor, a place filled with beings and creatures from various worlds and universes. They come together here, where all things meet and all things come together, the center of the multiverse, connected to all planes. It is here that the Guilds once ruled and commanded all, bending countless worlds to their will and commanding great armies on the fields of battle. War was waged for control of the great city, named for this world. Tyrannor proper, a city built around a powerful font of magical energies called the Source. The Source is said to have been left over from the time of creation, the raw material used by the ultimate to forge the world. The guilds all sought this power and the throne of Tyrannor that would allow them to command it and bend it to their will. The throne sat empty for many years until the greatest of conflicts between guilds arose. A guild of great evil rose up and marched forward behind a massive creature of shadow… Droga of the Black Fang Clan. Opposing his march stood the Half Elves of the world, following a leader who’s only goal was the obliteration of those that opposed her. The two factions battled on for many years, the creature sending many of elven blood to their deaths and it’s claws alone. The half elves leveled lands and temples taken by the creatures with powerful magic granted to them by their goddess. Death reigned in Tyrannor as all who were caught between the warring factions fell in mass graves and died by spell and claw. Others rose up to battle against the evil and it seemed that the tide would turn in the great war between the factions. The dark ones of the Guild of Evil however did not wish to play seconds to the monster, they turned against their most powerful servant and struck out against him. Prepared for their betrayal, the beast called Droga devoured their souls, using the energy to bring forth an artifact of untold power into the world of Tyrannor. The Skull of Dromkar. Vast portions of the world fell to darkness as the Artifact’s vile power seeped into the land itself. The blood of Dromkar turned rivers red and corrupted anything that dared to drink from it, the face of the world was changed and it seemed that the world was lost. The land itself became corrupted and it grew faster and worse wherever the blood entered into the waters of the world. Threatened with the corruption of the great rivers, those who fought against the evils built a great dam, preventing the spread of the corrupting waters. This dam was blessed with powerful magic to purify the water of it’s vile taint, protecting the world from it’s touch. A small band of heroes were chosen to march forth and beneath the cover of the tainted land’s own darkness. They made their way across the barren landscape where black rocks the consistency of bone rose from the earth like vile plants of death. They fought many beasts, and with each they destroyed their courage grew greater. The half elven meanwhile battled at the great dam, holding it and trying to prevent the destruction at the hands of the vile Dromkarians, kin to the beast called Droga. The fight raged and it seemed hopeless and lost as atop the dam, Droga of the Black Fang Clan faced off against the half-elven leader, a woman who had cast aside everything to destroy the beast. The two fought, a clash between a crusader and a destroyer. The battle raged on for many hours as the sides separated below, their commanders watching as the true fate of the day would be won upon the dam itself. In the last hour the half-elven mistress grew weary, fatigue beginning to claim her while her opponent stood fast, never tiring. The beast shattered her staff, sundering the connection to her most powerful magic. With a wicked grin, the beast drove it’s claw deep into the half elf’s body. Halfway across the world the heroes stood before the skull of Dromkar, it’s power was immense and radiated hatred and malice to all those who dared to come near. They grew nearer, many of the dark beasts death throes evident behind them, blackened patches of earth where their bodies had dissolved into the shadows they were born from. Gathering their strength, the heroes surrounded the massive Skull, a chant given them by the forces of the heavens they spoke. Words of beauty and strength in such a dark place brought tears to their eyes, as the final cost was paid. The heroes gave their lives and slowly the skull began to shine with a golden light, cracks forming along it’s surface… A roar of agony ripped through the air on the battlefield where the battle between titans raged. The beast called Droga gazed back over vast lands, it’s eyes seeing his mighty artifact begin to falter. It turned slowly back to the half elf impaled upon it’s claw and whispered quietly. “If I must die… then you shall come with me swine.” It’s mouth opened and the half-elven general screamed in pain and terror, her soul drawn from within her. Before the monster could devour it completely however, the skull shattered with a deafening explosion, echoing throughout all of Tyrannor. With it’s destruction, the beings of shadow, the Dromkarians began to fade, the shadows drawing them back into their fold. Droga of the Black Fang Clan struggled, his body beginning to disperse into that which he was born from with his enemy so close. Before he could fade entirely, he cast himself and his foe from the dam, falling to the tainted waters below. The taint remains today, and the dam now called Shadow’s Fall rests heavily defended where it had in those days. Twenty years after the day of the fall, the red waters stirred and from their depths crawled forth a woman of half-elven birth. No memories of her past, no idea of who or what she was. The garrison defending the great Shadow’s fall dam, where a city of defenders had grown took her in, calling her the rebirth of their mistress. For many years she remained there with the garrison, learning of their ways and being trained as their mistress had before her. She set forth, sent to the land of Tyrannor where she was accepted as a leader amongst the goodly peoples. But little did the world know of the mistake it had made. When the world had come to love her, she ascended to the empty throne to rule over all of Tyrannor. It was then that the world saw the truth before them. There, in the Castle of the Source the woman turned against them. Immortal and empowered by the force of creation she covered the world in an age of darkness and death. She rules from the castle of the source, commanding vast legions of soldiers to crush any who oppose her rule. Strangely, she keeps the dam at Shadow’s Fall in operation, even she dare not toy with the Blood of Dromkar lest it’s corruption reach the source itself. Few lands now remain that can oppose her, the lands that lie beyond the empty sea the only places left to give the world hope. You, the players, now enter the world of Tyrannor as it stands, corrupted by darkness and ruled by a tyrannical empress. Few points of light remain in the darkness of the world, but those who seek to save Tyrannor gather in the west. Those who dare to brave the evils that grip Tyrannor will find a great destiny that awaits them. On the other side of the world, the eastern region holds enemies of the Empress. Plotting kings and monsters that seek to rip the land from her control and place their own lords into the throne. Rise up and fight the darkness, or seek to ursurp the throne to bring forth a new age of evil. The choice is yours. |

| #3orcy_the_green_wonderMay 26, 2009 0:56:13 | PVP Player versus Player (PvP) combat and actions will be monitored under a flag system to allow for both those players who wish to take part in such combats and those that do not. The idea behind this is based in part on an honor system, though it has measures in place to prevent shady dealings with the flagging and unflagging of characters. Flagging Your Character To flag your character for PvP you must be inside your guild house or Tyrannor proper itself (the guild district). This action can be taken anytime you are in your guildhouse and currently un-flagged in status. Un-Flagging Your Character You may Un-Flag your character for PvP at your guild hall only. You may take this action anytime you are inside of your guildhouse and in a flagged status. However you may not un-flag yourself if you are currently effected by any 'special conditions' of flagging. Special Conditions -You have recently attacked another player or guild house. -You have recently stolen from another player or guild house. -You have taken part in an attack against another guild that is still going on -You have just attempted to influence someone's attitude with diplomacy/Intimidate and failed -You have recently failed an infiltration attempt of a guild. -Your guild house is under attack by an opposing guild.* -You have recently buffed or trapped an area with magic or cast a damaging spell that is still in effect. ** All of the above conditions apply for up to a week depending on severity of the situations. *In this situation all characters in the guild house may immediately flag themselves for PvP. Those who are not flagged may not do so for that combat. A day or two's notice will be given before combat begins for those players to flag their characters. When the last character that is flagged is killed, subdued, or surrenders, the guild house falls, regardless of how many unflagged players are left. **This lasts as long as the spell is in effect and ends a number of days after the spell has been set off or dispelled. PvP Actions The following actions may only be taken by a character who is flagged for player versus player combat. -Attacking another player -Casting a spell that damages or has any harmful effect on another player -Casting a buff on another player -Stealing -Sneaking/Hiding in an enemy guild -Guild infiltration -Use of skills to influence attitudes -The planting of any harmful device As with most rules, questionable use of the flagging system may bring about adjustments in the future. A rule of thumb in this situation is that if it seems like it might be abuse, it probably is abuse. |
| #4orcy_the_green_wonderMay 26, 2009 0:58:46 | Character Death People who wish to keep their dead PCs at rest may bury them (and items, if desired) in the consecrated ground at the Halls of Refuge. Otherwise, they may be subject to necromantic effects. The method of death of a PC determines the likelihood and amount of item destruction. Not only is this realistic, but it also helps maintain a wealth balance among PCs. The destruction chance is the odds that, upon a PC’s death, some of their possessions are destroyed. The first number is percent chance, second is amount. The percentiles in the bulk of the table represent the actual amount of items destroyed. For example, if a PC dies by a fireball, then there is assured that 40% of their possessions will be destroyed, and there is a 25% chance that all of their possessions will be destroyed. |
