Oct 12, 2008 23:12:05 The Deep groves were once a place of beauty and as the name would suggest great sprawling groves of trees. Maintained by the elves and druids of their kind for many years the groves were a refuge of nature. Recently while the world has begun to tear itself asunder, a band of Orcs appeared. They overran the elven defenses before they could mount a counter attack and much of the land was conquered. The Red Horde, a band that few to none had ever heard of before they appeared one day and ravaged the elven homes. Lead by an Orc known only as the Lord of Hosts... they rule this land now, save for a few sparse elven settlements that have managed to survive. Either by superior defenses and lack of concern on the Orc's part, or an ability to hide and cloak themselves well.

Oct 18, 2008 1:45:59 Leja checks her map just to be sure she is headed in the right direction. She begins to make her way through the groves towards Ailoamaa. Once Leja arrives at the village she cloaks herself in shadow and begins to watch for the hunted.

ooc: Assuming she doesn't run into trouble on the way.

Oct 26, 2008 2:41:50 Leja finds herself within the deep forests of the groves. She passes a few orcs on her way through the woods, but they do not notice her should she wish it to be so. If she does simply continue onward, she arrives at the village. The elves move about in the high trees, most it would seem never touch the ground. Their entire city is built high above in the tops of the trees. She can make out a large manor within the forest, spread out across a number of trees that it is formed from and around.

Oct 29, 2008 14:41:32 Leja finds that the trees themselves have many vines along their surfaces. In fact, once she looks close enough, there are evenly spaced areas where the vines form a thin, well-hidden ladders. There is one nearby the large house as best she can tell as well.

Nov 04, 2008 23:32:55 Depending on her shadows to keep her well hidden, Leja begins to climb a ladder up the tree nearest the large house. After reaching the the house she begins to inspect her surroundings. She decides to take several days to become well acquainted with the comings and goings of the manor. If in these days she properly identify her mark, she will stalk him in his nightly stroll looking for a possible ambush point.

hide/move silently (1d20+39=53, 1d20+35=37)

ooc: What other checks will I need?

Nov 06, 2008 18:39:53 Leja finds with her long vigil that each morning her mark takes a walk along the treetop bridges. She watches as each night he takes another young elf maid into the manor and the sounds she hears denote exactly what he does with them. If she feels bold, she can see this as well. Finally, she has noticed that each night at around sunset he rests outside on his balcony, watching the sun go down and waiting there until that night's 'companionship' arrives. She might note as well over her time watching, that his sword never leaves his side.

Nov 22, 2008 23:01:49 Following her mark on one of his nightly strolls, Leja decides to act when there are few to none around. Drawing her bow, she will close the distance between the two until she rests roughly within 50ft. from him. She begins to weave magic in preparation for her strike.

Casting Greater Invisibility, Sniper's Eye, and True Strike all on myself.

Then shooting an arrow with a Death Attack at him.

Attack roll: 20 True Strike, 2 Invisible (1d20 40=51)

If all is well with this Fort Save DC 33 or he dies.

OOC: If you want me to make any other rolls I will. If initiative is an issue this is my surprise round.

Nov 23, 2008 10:48:59 For a moment, the man stops. He staggers and sways before collapsing to the ground upon the bridge. The arrow from Leja's bow protrudes from his chest, stained red from pasing through the man's heart. He lies unmoving upon the ground and a number of elves point toward the area, more rushing in that direction.

Nov 28, 2008 17:48:00 Knowing she never would have failed, Leja smiles at herself completely satisfied. Cautiously watching the people running towards the trees she quickly casts dimension door to the ground below. After she arrives safely on the ground she begins to move silently away from the village, her task complete.

move silently (1d20 35=47)

Dec 05, 2008 10:37:08 Elves come rushing from all around. A couple crouch to look over the fallen Elf while others peer into the shadows of the trees, seeking his killer. They cannot find the woman thanks to her spell however, and are left staring...
