About how long does Barrow of the Ogre King take to run?

I'm thinking of running this adventure this friday evening for my group so they can get some secondary characters started. It looks like it's got a lot of combat, but no apparent skill challenges (though I only skimmed through it). Can anyone with experience running this give me an estimate?

Boston LFR ran three tables of this one weeknight. One table finished the whole thing in 4 hours (and they were mostly new players). One table fled from the final encounter and finished in 3.5 hours (mix of experienced and new players). One table finished the whole thing in 4 hours (all experienced players).

That's my experience with the mod - others' experiences may vary. I think it depends on how slowly people play. There isn't much role-playing opportunity in the module as written.

Cool. Well I hope my run follows that trend then.

I've played and run it, I would say six to eight hours--and closer to the 8 hour mark, the more tactically proficient your DM is.

The average hit rate for PCs in this mod is closer to 25% than to the usual 55% which will REALLY slow things down.

I have heard this before and have yet to see one take that long. i guess it depends on the style of DM and players.

It took us two four-hour sessions to complete it (back-to-back Thursday evenings), but we've only done it the once and it was the very first game we ever did for LFR. I think a good chunk of the first week was taken up with last minute character creation, too. We could probably do it quite a bit quicker now.

I ran it in about 5 hours. My group normally takes about 3.5 hours for a normal LFR adventure

Took us about 6 hours, but we had 6 players, so the fights all scaled up. Some of them really dragged as a result (for why, see spoiler block).

I want to find out whose idea it was to put a hexer in 3 out of 4 encounters and strangle them. -4 to hit for one encounter is annoying. -4 to hit every encounter is just boring. Swing, miss, next!

I ran it in 6 hours , although, if I had pushed more, it would have finished within 4 hours. I knew we had to slots available, so I let the players roleplay a lot more than strictly necessary for fun ;)
