We are potentially looking to run the BI at an event a month from now. Should we be asking our PoC to get started on this request for us? Do folks want these sort of requests for events that are potentially happening a month out? I'd like to be sure to ask in time to get through whatever process is required and still have time to run a round zero for the DMs. But I don't want to burden our already-busy campaign leadership with unnecessary requests if, say, the BI is going to be released in a couple of weeks now anyway. Guidance on this would be appreciated. Thanks, |

| #6GreysonApr 06, 2010 9:35:23 | I would be interested to know how long this "special request via regional PoC" process takes, perhaps from some folks who have gone through it? I'd ask right now. It took me two weeks to get one of the Embers of Dawn MINI adventures in December last year for a game day from our regional PoC. And, it was taking so long that I had to e-mail the writing director to nudge the PoC to get me the adventure. So, don't take any chances and start asking immediately - even if you get the "real" version before your event. |

I and others can share some tips when you get closer to slot 0s. Some folks have done a good job coming up with guide sheets for DMs. Our recent con (GameStorm) had an Excel sheet for tracking results. I have full-color pdf change deck files for DMs on my blog. There are resources out there, but you want to start ASAP. Also, check your judge pool to see if anyone played or ran it at D&DXP or other cons. If they played it, they have some good experience. If they ran it, they have a copy of the mod and can help with slot 0s. You want one weekend day for a slot 0 and preferably all your judges in one room - this usually takes some work to coordinate. You also want to think about timing for the event at the con (such as if there is a close time for the facility) and how to handle staffing. You want at least one person acting as MC and one person that can tabulate results, with ideally one other person that can go around tables and inform tables about time remaining, resolve issues, etc. |

If anyone has a copy of the boxed text you used in your event to replace the unwritten portions, I'd appreciate if you'd forward me a copy, to avoid us having to reinvent the wheel. |
